Had a run in with Jonny Faine at Malibu. My brother and I had one of the first Skip Frye boards and Faine saw us walking up the beach and accused us stealing his Frye board. Apparently it was stolen a few weeks earlier. We told him to fk off
It's incredible to think about legends like Butch, Phil Edwards, and Johnny Faine gracing Malibu during that era. Their presence surely added to the magic of those times and contributed to Malibu's rich surfing history. #surficons
