I've been a fan since the earliest days of Back Door Slam when Davey was just 19. This is a remarkable example of how his voice and writing have matured. Looking forward to the new album.
Me too. Saw him on BBC Breakfast, and he reminded me of one of my sons who is a couple of years younger but is a pretty neat guitarist himself (not in Davey's league) and was so into music that he now has a degree in audio engineering and virtually runs a radio station (lousy management - and he's perfectionist lol). He's just rebuilt it during "this time" (let's not spoil things by mentioning it) while everyone has been broadcasting from home. He's had some help, mostly by professional electricians and a cabinet maker, along with a couple of volunteers from the studio itself with the repainting, but it was he who redesigned the two studios, got new mixing desks and installed them, set up the new computing system - to the point where he actually _read_ the instructions for the software _before_ installation and first use! 😂 - and they're nearly ready for the relaunch. Not bad for a (admittedly very popular) community station! It might seem a bit of a step away from Davey, but it was on seeing him that my son really got the urge to go to uni and work in the music industry, one way or another. For someone on the Asperger's scale - though high functioning, life is not easy for him - he's doing well. I'm not sure if he would have practiced quite so hard to do his music A level! Of course his practical instrument for it was the guitar - though classical (I insisted because it teaches every technique you need to play anything else). I don't know if _all_ of that would have happened if I hadn't become such a fan from that first interview I saw. I immediately bought the album he was promoting and played it a _lot._ 😄
Huge fan of Davy ever since I saw him open for Chickenfoot. I have had the pleasure of seeing him many times. Davy is one of the nicest, appreciative and humble people I have ever had the honor to meet.
I saw him with Chickenfoot too, the second to last show on that tour in SoCal. But watch him here when he was even younger and opened for Gov't Mule @ The House of Blues Anaheim when he came out during the Mule's encore and played Almost Cut My Hair. He was just a kid and was tradin licks with Warren Haynes! Davy JAMS. Cool new music, Davy. Thanks for the share. ✌️
I didn't get the notification! GAH! But what a wonderful song and performance. As ever, the standards of every aspect of it are A1! So wish I could see you in concert (it's not even the money, just the lack of physical ability), but I have to stick to new releases - I think I have every one of them! Edit: just ordered the new one!!! Can't wait!
If you have never seen him as a youngster check out Tear Down The Walls with Back Door Slam. They are some morning show and Davy almost tore the walls down that day!! He WAILS!!
@@landriver1 I saw him on BBC Breakfast. Think it was that song they showed. He was 19 and so incredible, I've been a fan since that moment. I've got all his albums and the new one on order!
Oggi ho visto il video sul canale televisivo di un'importante stazione radio nazionale italiana! La radio è RADIO FRECCIA (nella top 20) L'album è tutto bellissimo (adoro "Davil and the deep blue see"). Ti seguo ormai da più di quattro anni Manca solo la turnè in Italia 🎸🎤😊🎶
I don't get it. Love Davy, and it's a cool song. But who's idea was the almost non existent, poor sounding, lame guitar solo? Having seen only his live stuff, was ready to get blown away with a killer solo. Daaaam. Disappointing.
