I've been shooting black powder since High School back in the early 70s. I never once even thought of adding a suppressor. I love the Hawkin's Rifles and I've owned a few over the decades. With the sights buried by the suppressor, adding a red dot or scope would be cool.

You don't have to have a tax stamp for a muffler on a black powder gun. Maxim built the silencers, and patented them as silencers rather than suppressors. Which is why they are still called silencers under the law.
A few years ago, you could mail order a black powder rifle, with a suppressor, and have it sent straight to your house thru the USPS. Don't know if you still can, but the law hasn't changed since then. It's no different than suppressing an air rifle.

*The red coats are coming! -The toad heads are boiling? *No! Have you been _not_ using the item from the blacksmith? -Of course I have! I figured it twas a pipe you gifted me, fine smoke indeed.
Hey now, they used rifles in 1776. They were famous for it. Percussion caps weren't invented yet though. I didn't know I wanted a threaded barrel on my muzzleloaders before this though.
The misfires come from using the wrong size cap. #11 caps are usually a LOT easier to find than musket caps (used in Civil War replicas) or #10 caps (used on Italian replica revolvers). It's pretty cool to suppress anything. Blackpowder, on the federal level, is not regulated as a firearm, so you can put as short a barrel as you want, even make it fully automatic, if you can. Technically the Nock Volley gun and several other volley guns would be machine guns since you're firing more than one shot with one action of the trigger. Silencerco used to sell a blackpowder rifle with an integral suppressor. Sir Hiram Maxim invented the machinegun and helped develop smokeless powder. Hiram Maxim, Sir Hiram's son, watched his dad lose his hearing developing machine guns and smokeless powder and invented the firearm silencer aka suppressor aka "muffler". Sir Hiram Maxim's nephew, also named Hiram Maxim, worked with Carl Benz to develop car engines. Benz wasn't not impressed and was just about to fire him from the shop when Hiram copied his cousin's notes and figured you could stick a similar device to a car's exhaust to make it quieter and give it back pressure, boosting the power.
Yeah definitely, this is my first ever drawing I have tried for. I am extremely excited hope I get it as I would buy your suppressor with it. Man, I would be the talk of my buddys.
to make it more exciting, if you weld the suppressor on to the gun the suppressor is no longer a firearm either. One company used to sell integrally suppressed muzzle loaders that you could purchase online and have sent to your door.
A misfire like that usually means the space between the charge and nipple is dirty. That often happens when cleaning as crud gets jammed into the breech. It happens a lot more if a gun was heavily oiled for storage and then the gun is stored muzzle up.
