Thank you Merrick Garland for going after Live Nation. In 1983 I bought a concert ticket at Tower Records in San Francisco for $10. Keep in mind that California's state minimum wage then was $3.35 phr.. That means I had to work three hours for that ticket. Fast forward to now, and California's minimum wage is $16 phr.. Taking all this into account, that means a concert ticket today "should" only cost $48. Oh, and the concert I saw in 1984 was front row for Fastway, Scorpions, and Iron Maiden at the Cow Palace in Daly City. Not bad for $10 bucks, ay? Incidentally, the Scorpions jersey shirt I bought was $13.
How much was rent, mortgage, car payment, big mac, in 1983? I could also go on about college tuition, health care, etc.

Ticketmaster/ Live Nation is the next business to be ripped apart by the leftist Swift crybabies, "Whaaaaa, I didn't get a ticket." I can't stand using "demand" as an excuse to raise prices. It's price gouging and greed from all involved; the venue, the sales, the promotion, and the artists taking advantage as one would selling water after a hurricane for $20 a gallon. None of them need to charge what they charge and splitting them up into different companies and buildings isn't going to lower the prices, the same amount of seats will sell out just as fast, and none of the companies will lose a dime, plus, the same people will do the same jobs. Nothing changes and might even cost more; letterheads, computers, banking, payroll, signs, logos, websites, email, all of that has to be changed to the new company name and is going to cost $$$.
