Thanks for your speedy response! If I’d delved a little further I would have seen that someone else had asked the very same thing! I turn 65 and it all goes to pot, memory, body etc! 😝 I really like your content and you have a subscriber!
I love how you use the Abu next gen vengeance. Such a versatile rondo with amazing sensitivity and strength.. I like my 6’6 medium as a jerkbait rod also for a drop shot and sometimes top water - it’s as all purpose as it gets , and I have 27 rods -probably more- a lot that are 2x the price, but it’s still my fav. I just bought two more a 7’6 heavy for big baits and 7’0 medium for top water and shakey head
AND YOU ISE THE MAXZ!! Hah! I LOVE that little reel . My local Walmart just had them on clearance for !!!!$10!!!!!! I bought 5 , 1 30, 3 20s, and a 10. Love that reel
I need to start trying this , thanks for sharing , all the nice ones you catch on the wacky rig I guess I need to be more patient with it than I have been since I haven’t gotten it to work yet !
What water temps are you seeing there during this video? Also if you mentioned it I missed it, but how long are you having to wait to get a wacky rig down 30-35ft?
Water temps are actually down a good bit this year because we've had a much colder winter. It's down into the low 50's and upper 40's in some spots. I don't fish a regular wacky rig that deep. It might look like I'm offshore in the videos, but I'm actually in water that's only about 6-8 feet deep at the most.
Funny that the last technique was one my buddy was harassing me about using at the end of December, so much for it being a spring/summer only bait right? ha ha
Tomorrow its going to be a post frontal bluebird sky day here in mid Tn, temps dropping into the 20s , heavy rain blowing out most of the lakes , so cold chocolate milk in the low 40s , probably the absolute worst fishing condition there is, still might go out though lol
There isn't a link that I know of. It's a trick anglers do to silence the rattles or reduce them. I take a very small drill bit and CAREFULLY drill a small hole in the bottom of the lure. You have to go very slowly so as not to hurt yourself or crack the bait. Then once the hole is made, start scooping baking soda in and every so often add a few drops of super glue. There will be fumes, so watch out for that. But there is a chemical reaction the makes a super hard compound resulting in a slightly heavier and much quieter bait. Hope that helps!
I'd have to go with a composite (glass/graphite) 7ft MH with a mod fast tip. Probably a G. Loomis or a Duckett. The reel would have to be a baitcast with 7.1:1 gear ratio. I'm an Abu Garcia guy, but I also like Lew's so either of those brands.
Fish are like snakes, cold blooded, metabolism slows way down, thus they do not have to eat as often. But in winter, often they stay in same area for duration of winter pattern. 2 scenariois 1. Look where shallow water meets deep water, it might only be as big as your breakfast table. 2. Sometimes they will Sun themselves shallow or off bank high in water column. Usually they dont move far, often leave that deep spot to shallow right next to deep. Deep is relative, not have to be 20+. Good Luck
Two reasons - the water was muddy and stained and I wanted to have some contrast in the water. And I also prefer to fish loud colors in colder water. I feel like I get more bites.
Pros always want to work as fast as they can and make as many casts as they can during a tournament. Deadsticking to catch a bass is the exact opposite of how they want/need to fish.
I have explained it several times before. Drilling a hole in the bottom of a lipless and then adding super glue and baking soda will greatly reduce the rattles or eliminate the rattle completely. Adding super glue to baking soda causes a chemical reaction that creates a super hard compound.
Do you prefer to fish fast or slow?
I like to fish fast
Fast , but not in winter
Dead still. I like live bait the best
It's tuff for me in the winter. I am in central Mississippi..
Yeah, winter can be tough.

Those vengeance rods are really great for the price!

I have a couple of them and really like them.
I need to start trying this , thanks for sharing , all the nice ones you catch on the wacky rig I guess I need to be more patient with it than I have been since I haven’t gotten it to work yet !
Patience is key!
Thank you sir, great video from start to finish 😁👍🏼
Thank you so much for watching!
that tip about the pale color of fish that have been on the bottom legendary
Thanks so much!

Nicely done LowBrow. I'm always learning something from you!
I appreciate that! Thanks!
Lowbrow is good old fashioned fisherman, teacher, youtuber
Super great explanation of what slow looks like! Definitely a challenge but works so well.
One of my biggest struggles as an angler for sure! I have to constantly remind myself.
Thanks 👍
Funny that the last technique was one my buddy was harassing me about using at the end of December, so much for it being a spring/summer only bait right? ha ha
It really does work great in cold water! Thanks for watching!
Those are 3 of my all time favorite techniques. Honestly, I don't throw a wacky much in winter but maybe I need to use one more often. Great video!
A wacky works great all year long!
Slowww in the winter, which is not always easy to do, but I try! Thanks again for another great video! Nice job out there!
I'm happy you liked it! Thank you so much for watching!
Awesome video I like your tips and can’t wait to try them on my lakes in upstate NewYork
Thanks so much for watching!
great information
Thank you!
Great video! Subscribed.
Awesome! Thanks so much!
I fish a wacky worm from the bank mostly in the spring and summer. You do need a lot of patience to do it right!
Agreed! It's very easy to overwork it!

Muddy water might play to your advantage. It warms up faster and hold more heat.
Great video and great fish.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Slow rolling is the way to go this time of year.
Agreed! It works great!
The Mardi Gras rig!
Ima fish it tomorrow
Awesome! I love it!
Nice LowBrow I’m a weekend warrior I haven’t gotten a fish yet in 2024 but I keep trying tho
Keep at it! I'm sure you'll catch a ton of fish this year!
Can you link what the baking soda trick is? Great content and really accessible information for the average weekend warrior angler

If you had only one reel and rod to fish with, what would it be?
I'd have to go with a composite (glass/graphite) 7ft MH with a mod fast tip. Probably a G. Loomis or a Duckett. The reel would have to be a baitcast with 7.1:1 gear ratio. I'm an Abu Garcia guy, but I also like Lew's so either of those brands.
As cold as it is, I can understand why bass are sluggish. I'm sluggish and slow too 😂
I know exactly what you mean!
Fish are like snakes, cold blooded, metabolism slows way down, thus they do not have to eat as often. But in winter, often they stay in same area for duration of winter pattern. 2 scenariois 1. That storm was crazy! Made a big mess for a lot of people
Yes it did! My yard is still soggy!
Why did you choose the blue spearmint color?
Two reasons - the water was muddy and stained and I wanted to have some contrast in the water. And I also prefer to fish loud colors in colder water. I feel like I get more bites.
Love the video but what part about do the pros hate? Did I miss something?
Pros always want to work as fast as they can and make as many casts as they can during a tournament. Deadsticking to catch a bass is the exact opposite of how they want/need to fish.
@@LowBrowFishing That makes sense. Thanks for answering.
Baking soda and superglue? Have you explained in prior video?
I have explained it several times before. Drilling a hole in the bottom of a lipless and then adding super glue and baking soda will greatly reduce the rattles or eliminate the rattle completely. Adding super glue to baking soda causes a chemical reaction that creates a super hard compound.
Another slow technique is the Drop Shot. That way you are working the bottom slowly.
A drop shot can be a great winter time technique!
It's hard to slow down. I know I need to and a lot of times I think I am going slow, but probably not as slow as I need.
It's something I always have to work on!
But but global warming
Thanks for watching!
