Also in regards to winter: They suggest if you have something like asthma, don't breathe too deeply when outside in freezing or below freezing weather since it does aggravate the windpipe. A nurse told me this. She also told me that you can actually get internal frostbite from breathing cold air too deeply. I would think a mask would help protect one from that.
7. Shyness (some people just don't like their face and want to hide it. Like if they have a big nose, a scar or odd lips)
8. Fashion (some people think it looks cool as an accessory)
You are describing Michael Jackson.
Corona has japanesilised me. I tend to use mask alot because it is fun. It kinda gives me feeling of security too. (I'm also a mask maniac=person who is higly facinated about all kinds of masks)
They where Preping for Covid19😷😷😷
They dream of becoming doctors
Hi ! Nice video.~
Wanted to ask you where can we buy surgical masks in an other place than Japan or Asian countries.
Thankfully hope you've a great day.
Thank you, 행복감천사.
Good question. I think you can get them at most pharmacies.
Best regards,
Johannes
Ebay
In some cities in the US police have what are called "stop and frisk" if you look suspicious. Wearing a mask in public is considered a disguise with intent to commit a crime. Good way to attract the wrong kind of police attention. Only in Japan is wearing a mask encouraged. This is the absolute last thing I want to wear around in my city.
Plain masks are my most favorite mask
Is it considered rude for tourists to do it? As in would they see it as us not wanting their germs.
When in Rome...
Helpful information, thank you!
People do whatever they want, there is no SOCIAL standard. Never applying what you think to others.
Ah, but, you neglected radiation fallout. People in Japan also wear masks to avoid breathing in hot particles. Reason number 7.
Thanks for adding the point, Pia. I'm afraid it doesn't help much though.
I agree, but the practice is occurring.
that's is a invalid point. First, Japanese don't think that way. Second, there is no such things like radiation fallout as you claim. Third, you exaggerated the nuclear disaster just like the western media do. You a disgraceful. Your western arrogance and ignorance deeply disgust me.
Everything you state s false and Japanese radiation detection stations prove you are incorrect. Japanese people do wear face masks to prevent breathing in radionuclides because they know the air is polluted. The facts are 1) Fukushima is emitting detectable radionuclides 2) TEPCO and JGov burn radioactive waste which emits detectable radionuclides and 3) a disinformation campaign paid for by government and the nuclear industry has existed and is still operational.Did you know that a Chinese man, named Wang, with a seafood import business smuggled ocean products into China and those seafood products had detectable levels of radiation? Are you getting paid for your disinformation? You aren't doing a very good job of it. You should write in your own language. Let the online translators translate for you.
Nobody wear a mask for protection agains radiation and nobody cares about it.
where is this guy from? he said Germany but his accent sounds almost Japanese. almost
can't place it.
I've actually wondered myself if my English accent has changed over the time I've been here. It would probably be only natural since I right now solely focus on improving my Japanese pronunciation. But this video was shot only a couple of months after I had arrived, so I think it's still pretty close to my original German accent.
@@JapaneseJourney Yeah I can hear a little of both. like when you say anything with a hard "R'' it sounds almost like you were raised in Japan. Other words I can hear the German accent
Lmao I was wondering cause I live in Hawaii and when I go to the populated areas so many Asians wear maskes and I always wondered why it’s cool to know though
I saw that a lot in Persona 5
trcsonic really who?
Not just the Japanese wear surgical masks. Asians in general tend to wear them a lot. I live in a town in England where there are a lot of Asians and even here they wear them and it’s not like we have shit loads of cars polluting the air or have thousands of people walking down the street at one time coughing and sneezing all over the place. So I just don’t get why they feel the need to wear them here in England.
anybody else think this guy looks like david walton?
I take it as a compliment, so thanks!
😂😂😂😂 going to Japan next year. This is hilarious
They wear mask to look like kakashi
It's very important to wear a mask!? Answer is yes
This must be such a helpful tool to spy. Walk in to a government building and do your stuff without causing fear with a sky mask and nobody will talk to you since they won't know who you are.
its mostly for fashion tho 😂
Reason no. 7... bank robber! Great video. I always wondered why. I see it in NYC. Great job.
is bad breath a reason, too? haha 😂
7:THE CORONA VIRUS
Sad but true.
Do you wear masks?
No.

I've made a video about how to get a visa in Japan: ruclips.net/video/RI-Jy0N6tl0/видео.html please check it to get an overview over the different possibilities.
If you want to come for training, probably the cultural activities visa is interesting for you (from 5:15). If you want to create your own dojo, you may want to look into the Business Manager Visa (from 4:21).
😂
Tokyo Ghoul otakus
Reason number 7: air pollution.
Ignorance Japan is very clean!
