Yes yes yes, the Trip is Everything! The Point, the Reason for using it in a therapeutic way is to €xperience first hand the Confounding, Illuminating, and Profoundly Ontologically Challenging Nature of Reality. When contained to a degree, and not blowing the participants mind too much, it can actually create an an Experiencer Double. That is, an Alternate Personality who knows now that Reality is Magic. Seen through new eyes, the body can regroup around the profundity experienced and have a New Life, creating Healing and Wonder in their Being. Whew 🎉

Good talk but I'm hearing that us poor people who are suffering have zero chance for help and those of us who are more fortunate can sort of pick and choose from destinations all over the world even now for beautiful therapeutic help.
It will be that way anyway, but then the black market will provide answers for the poor people who are desperate for any relief from their pain. They're going to find messed up people who don't have a good option just messing themselves up more.
We have to ask ourselves at what cost? What is the cost of allowing drug companies the control of our health. You know they will inevitably be in control of the whole thing. That along with insurance companies will probably be the black eye on such a beautiful way to help people.

And poor us, didn't get to hear more from Hamilton 😞. But as someone who has been using psychedelics for more than 50 years, mainly LSD, I agree with Hamilton that there is a difference. A few years ago I started experimenting with psilocybin instead of LSD, mainly Golden Teachers. Having struggled with depression I believe is based in my early childhood in a scary and dysfunctional environment, I started trying microdosing to try to deal with the depression. I felt some improvement after finding my sweet spot, a fairly large microdose of .3g in the Stamet's stack and still am doing it occasionally when I feel the need, no particular set schedule. Of course I eventually started experimenting with larger doses, just to have what I believe most call a light trip, 2g combined with setting my intention and a variety of sound tracks depending on my intention, shamanic beats, music, nature sounds etc.. I stay with the low dosage because I'm doing it alone and worked my way up to what's been a 'safe' dosage so far. I do 'go somewhere' that's pleasant and kind of resets me. I get some great closed eye visuals wearing a sleep mask, beautiful and peaceful.
I really feel the need to talk about this with someone, but at my age and in the conservative area where I live now I haven't run across any 70 year old people who I feel I can talk to about this. I try to feel out people who I suspect might be interested by saying I tried smoking weed as a kid but didn't like it. OMG, the looks that gets, lol. But I did talk to one of my sons about it recently after he went to Peru for an Ayahuasca ceremony. When I first brought it up, I told him how helpful the mushrooms have been for me and used the word friendly to describe my relationship with mushrooms. I told him maybe it sounds stupid, but I feel the mushrooms are friendly to me. He replied it's not stupid, it's actually a perfect word to describe my relationship with the mushroom. It was like opening the floodgates because with things out in the open he told me how most of the young adults around here are tripping quite a bit. I was overjoyed to learn that because there's a lot of heroin and meth in this area and I believe that virtually all of them that are tripping are avoiding white powders.
I really liked what Professor Yehuda had to say about the necessity of a trip. I strongly believe I could resolve the depression and PTSD that I've struggled with for decades by doing 1-2 macrodose trips, but won't do it unless supervised with a real professional, not some charlatan self proclaimed trip sitter or one of the bogus 'shamans' that are popping up everywhere in S America strictly for the money to be made from those they see as rich Americans who are flocking to S America to try the new 'in thing'. I also agree with whoever said these cattle call Aya and/or mushroom ceremonies are NOT the way to go. So I'll keep on treading water while I wait for more legalized psychedelic therapy that I can afford, probably on the West Coast. The wait is frustrating though when I compare it to how soon Oxy Contin was approved and flooded this area causing so much death and in many cases heroin addiction, now laced with deadly fentanyl. But the Sackler's lobbyists and marketing team said it was a non-addictive wonder drug and that apparently was good enough for the FDA and the doctors.

Tripping doesn't involve a therapist. That's them wanting their share. Tripping is between you and the universe.

@@triple_gem_shining people have been eating mushrooms and enjoying it way longer than the the term "trip sitter" has been around. In fact, when I started tripping in high-school nobody we've mentioned a trip sitter lol. I had friends who would drop acid in the morning at school lol. I have had many many bad trips. It's an anxiety attack. It's no fun but it doesn't kill you. You cannot explore the space fully when you're emotionally and spiritually tethered to another person, especially someone who isn't tripping. You'll spend the whole night thinking about what the other person is feeling and experiencing. It's just not the same. I would recommend having somebody around if it's your first time but they can be tripping too.

It doesn't make any sense that you could get the benefits of s trip without any psychedelic effects, it just doesn't. The guy obviously doesn't know the difference between hallucinations and illusions. You don't get hallucinations on psychedelics, unless you are taking dosages that would go far beyond therapeutic or even Terence McKenna dosages. Hallucinations are when you can't tell the difference between your perceptions and reality. When using psychedelics you know that you are tripping. Only when we have idiots who have taken the drugs, do we have people who think we can give people life changing experiences, without the experience. It's just absolute stupidity.
