Cliff this is just a brilliant video that in one jump has opened up my understanding of how to improve the content of my guitar playing. You are a star.
Thanks man, much appreciated. I'm going through your China cat lessons now. All good stuff. I'll be combing through your whole channel for sure! Love how you're showing how to get jammy, but still coming back to the recognizable licks of the tunes too. I wish I found this channel earlier on, but better late then never!
Cliff... I love that darn lesson; its sweet and easy, and of course well explained. My 4 year older and I just jammed out on that tune. Way fun... whahoo
Yes, thats the target of most of my videos, people who know the basic play through but want to grow it a little. Here is a great teacher who goes into better depth: ruclips.net/video/TnRSMviZ8zs/видео.html
Ha, yes nomenclature! SO I think the correct naming is 10th fret for where the bass G note is on the A string. But because I think of a first position A chord as being on the second fret even though its bass is on the open string two frets down. So with an A in my private language being on the second, then that barred three notes slid up to the 12th fret is the G. Hopefully I have answered what you are asking, if not, flag what time in the video I need to look at!
@@vedantus I'm relying on you I got to learn this. Then I'm going to let you teach me the chord structure. or the 3 2 ,5, cord whatever the hell that means
3 chords, amazing what you’ve done with them. Reminds me of the Hendrix cover.
Its weird to think that all of the entire catalog of music is just 12 notes
@@vedantus That's right! That's why we are seeing more and more copyright infringement cases courts now.
How much do I love this video? I keep on watching it and I have so many ideas to take to rehearsal with me.
Thats my wildest dream!
Great video. Giving me ideas just by watching and listening. Amazing!
yay!
Great video, I enjoy this song and will implement those ideas and noodle around and have fun with it.
I’ve been working on this song and now Im gonna give the noodling a try. It really spruces up an already awesome song.

Its funny how idiosyncratically we all regard guitar! Glad it provided another perspective
I have always found theory impenetrable but this sparked a lightbulb understanding of how to improvise around chords.
Don't know if it was the intension but fun demo of the CAGED system.
Thank you. Outstanding.
I liked Down by the Bay
Great job, Clif! You really put some fun into that tune!
Its a great riff
Awesome skill set in the strings.
It all just builds on itself , bit by bit
Thanks so much for this video, I am inspired
Great!

This is a message for Hugh who wanted more info on the a form noodling... I just am uploading a video that digs further on that.
You only explained how to do one riff; The first one. The rest of video are demonstrations of what is possible. What are the notes?

Nice ! You forgot the F# to A in double time then the hold on G major then back to signature riff into the A. 👋
Yes I did! I wish you could add addendum videos under a main video

Beast
I play it in that key because the riff is so much more throaty!
cool
Wooodoggy I like the Jimi Hendrix version of it not too many people start of it oh wait that was at a live concert I’m sorry
Woodogggy!
#GRANDPAKNOWS that’s me
Super von Manny
I don't know the reference
I wish I could play that good but I keep trying
Playing well is a few little things put together to make a whole, good tone , in tune, clear rhythm and a run or two to link then chord changes
IT'S AN F SHARP
You are correct sir!
F# minor..same as A major
You don't have much time? Would you just play it?
For some reason the hook reminds me of zeppelin
Yeah, I can feel it!
Just. What I needed simple no jargon XCEPT. Warbling. I'm a learn by replicate king the. Mechanic s. Of it. , I gonna scribe
Great!
