God I miss this tone of the MCU. When jokes were sparring and actually funny, when the world took itself seriously. When characters weren’t campy. Love this movie
I miss the *REAL* World being the same
Back when there was only one universe and the stakes actually mattered. Everything felt grounded but also spectacular
And no Wokeness
basically before Disney bought the MCU
You act like creating a masterpiece with an almost 2 decade build up is easy to do, like you can just do it at will. You can’t just recreate greatness. The world has to be primed for it, and you need a team as inspired to keep recreating a great storyline that doesn’t seem repetitive. You act like Marvel stopped making quality by choice lol at the end of the day maybe they just ran out of ideas. I thought endgame was a solid ending to a solid ride, I don’t hold anything against them for putting out stuff that seems “less” than what they’ve already put out. Yeah we’re all waiting on the next great thing, but what have given was excellent. I’m tired of people making it sound like it’s easy to follow up what they did lol you can’t just recreate greatness.
God I miss when MCU movies felt realistic
Yep because Tony still being alive after brutally hitting his garage wall while testing his thrusters is realistic
"Realistic" isn't the right word, I would just say "good" instead. Marvel comics and MCU has never been realistic, thats why it exists.
@@Zivin Not “realistic” I guess, but definitely more grounded. A story about a guy who builds a flying suit of armor is a lot more grounded in reality than the multiverse wizard shit we get these days.
@@KingOfMMA.
Well, is as "realistic" as It can get.
@@rafikz77You know what the OP meant, stop grasping at straws.
Obidiah was the first MCU villian. Little did we know he would easily be one of the best after all this time.
Villain uncles are all time classic
He was the second MCU villain the first is Deacon Frost in 1998 with Blade
@@tuneunleashed That’s just a Marvel film, not the MCU.
@@SunlightGwyn Well…not anymore with the multiverse…thanks to No Way Home.
@@tuneunleashed That only added the Spiderman movies to the MCU. Deadpool added X-men to the MCU, what added the original Blade movies to the MCU? It should be its own universe just like the Daredevil movie, Electra, the original Fantastic Four movies and Ghost Rider.
Great scene, no stupid jokes or comedic relief, no disneyness
@MaddoxJamesLongoriayou're unhinged
You definitely weren't listening to this movie.
Definitely no Disneyness🤮🤮🤮
Went from this to she hulk. What a fall
Also Thor: Love & Thunder 😂
Yep this was before the Disney era. And when Marvel was still the underdog.
done by different people
Did your tiny little balls shrivel up?
Also Ragnarok... Marvel turned to shit after the first 5 movies with the exception of Captain America 2 & 3, Infinity War and No Way Home
I love the first movie because it showed that Tony Stark could be manipulated and controlled just like any other rich, spoiled playboy with wealthy parents. Stane was refreshing. Great villain, and great casting.
You're right. I'd forgotten that. That was part of why Stark wasn't a Mary Sue - which is a large part of why the character worked.
I have to say, I actually wouldn’t have minded if they had kept this aspect of Tony Starks life. I think it would’ve been interesting to see him dealing with the corporate politics of being IronMan, shareholders, and possible hostile takeovers from within the company (at least in a more focused and serious way.)
Obadiah is such a sociopath, one wonders what the hell he even THOUGHT he was saying to Tony with the words "protect you."
imagine that reporter seeing the news of ironman a few weeks later destroying the weapons in the pic
By the way in the final reveal scene she was the only one who kept sitting upon hearing Tony’s confession. She must have guessed.

Siri take me back to when the MCU was great and actually made awesome films
Robert Downey Jr. was born to be Tony Stark.
I hope Christine turned out okay. She really comes off as more than just a tabloid journalist, like she's trying to hold powerful entities accountable. She was trying to do good before the capes came out.
It's okay. She married a wizard
Can anyone else see the tip Tony put in the glass? Looks like a 1000 bill or 1300 bill, it's definitely not a $100 bill. I know it's fake movie money but it has a crazy number lol
It’s a Stark bill
It is indeed a $100 tip, did some googling lol
I don't know what I'm seeing then lol thanks for investigating.
mf said 1300 bill bro just say ur broke
America doesn’t mint $1000 or $1300 bills
Jesus these first movies were great. No wonder RDJ refers to his time at MCU as “playing some guy named Tony” and that Oppenheimer was his first real test as an actor in forever. This atmosphere IM1 was incredible compared to what is released these days
I like how every enemy that Tony goes up against is a dark reflection of himself except in Civil War when he becomes the dark reflection of himself
Good ole Obediah Stane. He was a cool villain for the first movie. I love Jeff Bridges!
This movie had a great energy. Tony's character development in this degraded again in Iron Man 2
I mean he was literally dieing in that movie he wasn't of sound mind
They didn't know what to do with Tony in the subsequent movies, how to show that's he's partially reformed, give him a new arc, while still keeping him the wisecracking guy from the first movie. The smart thing, in hindsight, would have been to focus in on a survivor's complex that Tony has, a desperate drive to "not waste his life". That's what's driving him in this first movie, and it's never really explored afterwards. Never felt like he got a chance to hit rock bottom of total disregard for his own safety, while Pepper and the others plead with him to stop the savior act and realize he's only one man, he can't solve everything.
@@ndalum75Exactly, the movies didn't do justice to his "Atlas complex" from the comics: he thinks he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders and he keeps reinventing himself and crossing lines to ensure the world doesn't go to hell.
Sure, they touched upon this in Iron Man 3 and Avengers 2, but they didn't progress it into a cohesive story. They should have had an "Armor Wars" type of story where he globetrots the planet looking for stolen tech.
@@thestarkknightreturns I guess there was a little bit of that in Civil War with the Accords
Man, Lebowski really lost it after those thugs peed on his rug.
That rug really tied the whole room together, man
I wonder that happened to Walter ? 😂
what an acting, face of being betrayed.
RDJ is so good. This movie had great actors, Howard? Ehhhh, but everyone else, excellent.
WHAt?????? Everyone is amazing in this movie. EVERYONE
Except the guy who played rhodey@@DenisUspeshny
@@borris3768This rhody is better. I liked him. He looks like a guy who would double cross Tony later. But the later guy looks too gentle

I watched this scene 3 times just to check if this was the MCU.
What it is now is a far cry from what we had then.
$100 bill in the tip jar is boss level.
I love this character immensely...
MCU went from this to booty shaking
Still the best Marvel movie
after escaping tron, kevin flynn worked with howard stark
Actually after gettting blowed up, Kevin Flynn found himself in a new grid
This is still the best one
we all miss Tony Stark...iron man movies....if ever we get another iron man/tony stark........views would be crazy.
Love u 3000
In the thumbnail, I’m gonna tell my kids that is Vince McMahon and Triple H.
Obadiah is like an anti Obi Wan Kenobi. Used to work with the protagonists father and instead of mentoring him, he betrayed him
That man tipped that Bartender 100
Wow, an MCU movie that was faithful to the original source material's strongest elements and serious in tone, acting and the jokes weren't juvenile. Almost like...a real movie.
I have to say, I actually wouldn’t have minded if they had kept this aspect of Tony Starks life. I think it would’ve been interesting to see him dealing with the corporate politics of being IronMan, shareholders, and possible hostile takeovers from within the company (at least in a more focused and serious way.)
War is a business, and business is a boomin, cousin.
That's how arms and weapons business are done. They sell both sides 🤑🤑🤑
Jeff Bridges is majestic.
Since Oppenheimer, I'm noticing a pattern of people giving RDJ bad news in front of press cameras so he can't flip out on them.
Who could imagine that one day Tony Stark would save the universe from a evil alien.
Honestly I first thought Thanos was voiced by Jeff Bridges.
I’m a little disappointed it wasn’t now, as it’s complete cycle for Iron Man. His first and last Villain.
Why didn't the journo simply take those pics to the DOD or the State Department, and kept a copy for herself of course ? They could've investigated Stark Industries.
Because she hooked up with Tony lol
A more sinister realization that was confirmed on Iron Man 2 is that top government official knew about it but kept quiet because Stark not only provides to terrorist but also the US military and having Tony out of a job or jail will be too costly for them since in his universe he’s one of the smartest men on earth
It’s because of that in the senate hearing scene in Iron Man 2 Tony says: “I tried playing ball with these ass clowns”
@@willypro4949 well they'd have left Tony alone anyway coz it was Stane who was supplying the terrorists, provided Stane wasn't operating in a camouflaged manner which would later implicate Stark as well.
because she's a woman.
Because they probably have the US government backing. In fact, its probably the US government who sets up and arranges the deals in the first place
Think about it. How is one reporter going to exact meaningful change against a mutibillion dollar mega corporation, or if she goes to the DOD, why would the DOD take action, Stark Industries is their reliable supplier?
Her best shot of effecting actual change was confronting the man at the top and making an emotional appeal, especially because he was developing pacifistic tendencies. And it worked.
LoL now they will just show the pictures on IPAD XD
I thought Tony didn't like to get things handed to him.
So she carries photos on a gala hoping for randomly encounter Tony Stark. Right.
0:15 jajajajajajaja 😂😂😂😂
I wish the mcu never happened. I can't even rewatch most of those movies. I can't believe i liked them at one point.
I’m kinda the same way. However we can’t deny what we liked and that doesn’t mean we can’t like which ones we did like. I’m 43 so I’m from the old school. I did like the iron man trilogy
I liked the first Captain America.
I loved the Incredible Hulk.
Most of the marvel films I love are actually not MCU. Dolph Lungren punisher. Blade trilogy. The first 2 Spider-Man’s.
But other than that yes they all suck.
Christine huh. Strange's lover. Interesting.
We can settle this in court........ I'm dumb and soft right? I knew it was you.......
He is the Real THANOS
No one knows that tony stark almost became another norman osborn green goblin if he doesn't know his weapon sell to another country
The lady besides keeps looking into the camera, not sure capturing or not
Damn man I forgot how great the MCU was back then compared to what there making now like The marvels, she hulk etc🤮
All good things must come to an end
Since Ragnarok the characters in the MCU have always been a a bunch of comedians.
Imagine how cool she hulk would have been in the 90’s. She could have been a pg13 version of Deadpool.

I saw Leslie Bibb at the airport. She was pretty in real life too. Her face is tiny like a cat's.
The Dude
Wait, why does she have those perfect pictures at hand? They weren't bend so they were not in her purse and how does she know Tony was going to that party?
Always carry pictures with you. You never know when you’ll need them.
TONY STARK WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE! WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!
What is clu doing in this movie 😅😂😂😂😂😂
I thought that was HHH
Tony Stark built this in a cave, with a box of scraps
In chapter 3 last part he took his iron heart out how he going survive without it … unless it was a dodgy one
The arc reactor in his chest also worked as a magnet that prevented the shrapnels from going to his heart. Before he threw his arc reactor out into the sea, we see him going through a surgery pulling the shrapnels out, thus he doesn't need it anymore

Oh she was in the MCU for a hot minute. She had a mini web series and appeared in a few shows
Sadly she started being left behind as time went on
She's the reporter who he slept with at the beginning and is the only one who didn'tstand to question him after he came out as Iron Man. She sleeps with Hammer in Iron Man 2 to get the same news deal there, but immediately gushes over Tony in front of him.

To be fair, if your the CEO of weapons manufacturer, why make only 50 million revenue by selling only to US military. When you can make an extra 20 million by selling to Russia also. Some call it Treason, others call it “increasing market share”….if your smart can give the Russia the “lite version” weapons to ensure America wins…I am almost certain this happens to a degree in real life.
its also called violating ITAR and embargo treaties and it is considered an act of war by supplying a terrorist group with the same tech that an opposing force uses and it can get you blacklisted from the DOD and everyone involved who approved that order goes to prison. Its a reason why a guy like Viktor Bout was in the jail in the first place.
Its illegal no matter how much money you make,
Not enough gay here.
Lots of butthurt people here.. Reminds me of the same people that complained about Star Wars episodes 1-3 which 20 years later loved the characters and whined about episodes 7-9.
