Did a little TFRSS stalking and saw you went to De Anza Nate, any chance you know Travis Throws Bombs?
With some sports and most performance arts, the easier something looks, the harder it actually is
stg i thought that would be the easiest one until i watched this, still wanna try tho
We need this to become a series where ludwig just tries all the Olympics sports. I NEED to see this guy waving a ribbon around trying rhythmic gymnastics
I clicked this video then remembered that Ludwig is just the theater kid that played the athletes
Even if this is basically an ad for the streamer games, it’s still fun to see Ludwig lose at something
2:26 bro looks like a buff, ✨zesty✨, Kawaii T-Rex when he runs.
There's such a thing as floor and ceilings, Ludwig was right, running should be the "easiest" when it comes to attempting something, especially compared to pole vaulting, but the ceiling of breaking into the 9.5s is insane, it's said to be the human benchmark. So while it does have a low floor, running has, I think, one of the highest ceilings in Olympic sports.
Yeah plus the number of people who run makes it tough to get to the top.
Damn.. a bot stole your comment and got more likes. That's rough
@kaleighcasilla
Archery is one of the hardest. Olympic distance is 70m. He wouldn't even hit the target face because he couldn't pull a bow that can reach it.
Nah, this years surfing event would have literally killed him.
Archery is very hard, but a bow that a guy with Ludwig's physique can draw can reach 70m. He doesn't need to be a Welsh longbowman.
@@dariussonofjazzlin7433 Do the women not do archery as well? I was confused by the comments saying Lud would dislocate something trying to pull back that far.
@@joshs7160I doubt he'd dislocate anything, but archery utilises muscles that don't get used much in every day life. He'd definitely be able to shoot a bow which could reach 70m, but consistency is very difficult. A recurve bow (even fully loaded with accessories) doesn't do much work to make the archer consistent.
@@Hatchet898 Oh, I'm sure there's no chance he could hit the target, but yeah, I was just referring to being able to draw the bow far enough.
ludwig's running form is diabolical
1:06 why does he run in French??
Ludwig is from Canada
you mean like a coward? who knows...
@@huiberthubertusi2561Canada has French as official language
We're Ludwig guys, of course we can't shoot a basketball
Believe the word you’re looking for is ludbuds
but... he's handsome, im not. im a doo doo
I was actually thinking how would an average man perform during the paris olympics
The fact that Ludwig may be unironically the most fit streamer for the Games is so funny to me, can't wait to watch.
If Sydeon is there for OTV, she should at least be in contention. Maybe not for strength compared to Lud though
Will Neff?
Damn if ludwig is the most fit that's not saying much
Nah if dougdoug is there he will prob win
@@markkump9344Ludwig has run a half marathon and is in the 1000 pound club, he’s actually really fit
10:06 Track cycling is way scarier than you think, and scarier than you see here. An Olympic track is about 250 meters long with 40 degree incline bends.
The incline only matters if your speed is high enough. Normal people don't get to 60km/h
@@ruukinenit also matters if your going too slow otherwise you will just slide down the track
@@jostified04 What do you mean? The very inner part of the track is flat, and mostly level with the ground. If your speed isn't high enough to require climbing the side of the bowl shape due to inertia, the optimal strat is to follow the inner circle, where it's flat. Also it's not greased. In some places it's made of stone so it's in fact very grippy.
@@ruukinenyou're not allowed to race on the inside yoy must be on the banking in the Olympics
@@sambarbour2321 Sure, but even then if you ride with a slow speed, you are just gonna be upright compared to gravity, not the track. Pursuit events have the riders nearly stand still on the track and being on the curve doesn't seem to affect them negatively. Even if we go with olympic rules for normal people, they aren't "sliding" off the track.
Seeing Ludwig doing hurdles as someone who use to do hurdles made me chuckle, with a little a bit of work Ludwig can get perfect form jumping and pacing throughout the jumps
14:08 Even just 2 seconds is a lot in the 100m dash though… like for instance, the standard just to qualify for the Olympics in Men’s is 10.05 seconds and the WR is 9.58 seconds… that’s a less that 0.5 second difference from standard QUALIFIER time and WR time.
(Also the standard qualifier for the women’s 11.15 and the WR is 10.49)
I hope Lud revisits this video and tackles all the martial arts done at the Olympics. Seeing Lud try his hand at Boxing, Karate, Wrestling, Judo, and TKD would be such a fun video and would bring a massive amount of new viewers to some awesome martial arts content creators
I want to see Ludwig figure skating 😭
Actually did really well at the archery just being handed a barebow and shooting at that range, well done Lud
Well we know its not basketball 0:24
Lmfao
Honestly respect for being able to jump over any of those hurdles.
1:24 solid attempt, but smashing a hurdle without a "clear attempt to hurdle" is a DQ unfortunately
1:39 glad he got that lean in
Saved him a couple of seconds.
"Velodrome" is a sport in the same sense that "swimming pool" is a sport.
LOVE the drone footage that shit was clean
So that's where all their stability points went to. The camerawork at the track was like an earthquake!
I really liked the celebration after cleaning that 9 year olds record. Ludwig gave it his all
The 9 year old has been awfully silent after that.
My main takeaway from this video is that Lud runs funny lol
One thing to point out is that ludwig didnt do real olympic distance for archery which is 70 m on a around 1 meter target, for 72 arrows . the record is 672.
In his defense archery on its own is something most people aren’t good at with little practice so he needs to so something realistic
@@skypfo734 absolutly as an archer just reaching 70m takes a long time...
7:48 the record is actually 98.48m set by Jan Železný in 1996
Probably just a typing mistake. They added a 1 in front of it.
Was about to mention that. 198 m javelin throw will go in stands .
@@Vazu3yeah, the percentage was right
@@manyatakumari9500probably over the stadium 😂
If i can remember right they had to change the weight of the javelin at 2 points because it was "going to far". Can remember if its true or fact check it
As a Paralympian I love this concept and hope you do another video showing Paralympic sports too! Chula Vista is a great training site with a ton of incredible athletes!
The world record for javelin is 98.48m, not 198.48m as shown in the video (they made a typo)
13:15 'JUST 2.5 sec slower' btw
Ludwig makes like the best content ever i can't stop watching him
i love that at the start getting half as good as WR is shameful and it slowly becomes an amazing accomplishment to get half
As someone who competed in Olympic weightlifting for years I can confirm it’s a lot harder than you think
I doubt it, I already think it’s fucking impossible.
Weightlifting is the easiest Olympic sport
@@Clips656search up a slo-mo of lasha talakhadze’s lifts.
Yeah, as an oly athlete and coach, there’s ALOT of technique. Like you literally spend years perfecting 2 (sorta 3) small movements. That’s how hard it is
For Lud never doing the movement it wasn’t terrible lol What weight class you competed in?
video starts at somewhere around 15 minutes before 15:59
Been sayin that Lud's only weakness at this point is his agility. Bro's built but moves like e honda. God meant it this way to keep his ego from reaching unfathomable levels.
Ludwig while running: 💅💅💅
Great video concept, excellent execution. Shouts out to all the athletes who coached Lud along the way.
if we wanna go there you technically got 0 in both weightlifting events since they were both press outs
but I’m still impressed with your 80kg reverse curl and push press
Yeah lmfao he got red lights HOWEVER if it was like 1900 he would’ve done very well lmaoo
Ive learned from this that the easiest olympic sport child bullying is
10:27 'water polo' easy💀wrong end of the spectrum....
Id probably die in that sport from exhaustion
As a water polo player, I laughed when I heard Ludwig say water polo is an easy sport
15:38 Well… since you asked, for our highschool Varsity tryouts we were required to run 2 miles in 12 minutes, then race against each other immediately after for an 800, 400, two 200s and four 100s. Then go straight to soccer. I’m a keeper, and got 11.86 seconds for my best 100
Exactly Ludwig doesn’t realize that he really wasn’t remotely close to the world record. When I was a middle schooler I ran a 100 meter dash in 13 seconds and he’s a full grown man. Not saying that I’m really good, because the people that compete are way better.
I havent watched Ludwig in a longgg time. I must say his videos are even better than when he used to twitch stream. New SUBSCRIBER
11:07 To get the world record you need to beat an average speed of 65.45km/h (40.67 mph) so I'm not sure about that "one of the easiest' lol.
No Olympics WRis easy in way shape or form, but there are some that may be more achievable then others, maybe track cycling isn’t one, but the percentage doesn’t lie
Homie has that T-Rex run on him
Whoever edited this and the basketball video have impeccable music taste. KFAD remix of special stage is such a deep pull
Bros about to compete in the Olympics accidentally 💀
So funny
I love your clever comment 💀
Ludwig in 2028 "This is how I ACCIDENTALLY won the gold metal in the Olympics"
There’s a difference between metal and medal lmao but that would be a lud yt fs
Maybe paralympics
Ludwig should try every hard drug to see which one is the deadliest for his next video
Nah Northernlion on the velodrome would be a force of nature
This was truly an amazing insight into Ludwig’s athletic capabilities. For a streamer, he didn’t do too bad. I can’t imagine his colleagues would do any better
you should do this same thing but with the winter olympics that would be insanely entertaining lol
As someone who used to compete in athletics seeing Ludwig’s form on almost everything at first try was aleays hurting me
Fun fact: you can like comments by double tapping them, but by triple tapping them you can also reply (only in mobile)
This is why we need to just have like a normal guy compete alongside olympians.
He should've opened up with. "The olympics just wrapped up last week and the entire time I was thinking. I can do that."
The Javelin world record is 98.48m. 200m would be Achilleus type shit xD
Throwing Javelin in high school made me feel so cool when I did it correctly…. But every now and again, I’d mess up, it’d go nowhere, and I’d feel like a total idiot lol
petition Ludwig tries team sports With and against other streamers
Ludwig is the type of guy to watch the best athletes in the world and say “yeah I can do that”
The difference is while most of us might say that to ourselves, he goes out and records it. Brave.
The Australian Woman's break dancing qualifiers were announced 3 weeks before the actual competition, required full registration with 3 different organizations and required an Australian passport. Most of the best dancers were unable to meet those qualifications in just 3 weeks.
The fact he had to beat 9 year olds to feel good about him self his hysterical
100% true that the velodrome has some of the easier records and our Olympic coordinators believe that too. It comes down to the fact that there is an extremely small pool of talent of people that compete. At the start of this year our US track cycling director invited me as well as about 20 D1 athletes with backgrounds in basically every sport there is from around the US to try the velodrome, assess our talent and start getting us ready for 2028
Did you do the search for speed stuff?
@@mmattson7847 yeah that is exactly what I was asked to go do… 1774W for 6 seconds, 1185W for 30, 4.51 40yd, 48cm jump. 61kg with track and field background
Might be easy to do, but to be competitive? Another story.
@@phoenix___7747 been cycling for 7 months and already qualifying for cat 1 national championships. Like I said, there is a very small pool of talent of track cyclists. The search for speed program is designed to find talented cyclists from other sports. Olympic track and field shows the best of a few million, track cycling shows the best of 10,000-20,000
@@nitrouspeed3583 nice. I was part of last years first sfs talent integration group. Were you selected for this years? Do you know how many people were? I know the process has changed since I did it
I really like the concept of calculating difficulty based on standard deviations from Olympic Gold. You could use the top 10 athletes for that calculation, which seems like a solid approach.
However, this method would only work for normalized sports where the goal is to achieve a measurable result, like distance or time. It wouldn't be applicable to sports judged subjectively or where athletes compete directly against each other, as those can push or disturb each other.
I would have liked to see age comparisons for each sport. What age can Ludwig beat in that specific field?
As a high school distance runner, this was absolutely hilarious. I vote to have Ludwig run a hs XC race (3 miles) next
14:40 wrong conclusion, we are not good at sprinting, we are good at endurance
It's all running, though, which is his point. That's why our largest muscle is the Gluteus Maximus
Ludwig trying not to mention he’s a red bull athlete challenge: impossible
Can't wait to see Ludwig competing in the games in LA in 4 years! Just a "little" more practice.
Kidding aside ... I think he did REALLY well. I'm impressed.
Bro was fighting demons with those hurdles.
