Thank You! These are really beautiful, soulful players. I have heard them

Mr K thank you for these beaut Jazz video's. This inspirational music takes me back when the Jazz i like was, for me, in it's prime years. From around '45 till about '75; with that vigour, pure innovation and raw drive that, very surprisingly, i now listen too. So thank you for giving the youtube-world the chance to discover this incredible music!

Wow. these saxmen are so good. I 'd love to catch them live as I love a friendly tenor battle. Hope they are still blowing.

Great mainstream jazz playing from everyone- hope all these guys are still blowing strong still -19 years later. Luckily, we still have a good jazz jam scene here in Cork Ireland, featuring all these great standards -I trust it's going strong in the Nederlands.

Thanks for your reaction John. Jazz bassist Ruud Jacobs, born: May 3, 1938 in Hilversum, De Nederlanden, died: July 18, 2019 in Nieuwkoop, the Netherlands. The other musicians in this video still play with various formations or in the many jams in the Netherlands.

@@WimKarmelk I've just realised that Ruud must be the bass player in the famous 1965 TV recording of Wes Montgomery with the pianist Pim Jacobs (any relation?). ruclips.net/video/RyV6ijU9HK4/видео.html

@@johnmcgrath8886 Yes, Ruud en Pim Jacobs were brothers! Pim Jacobs was maried with Rita Reys, "Europe's First Lady of Jazz!" Thanks for sharing the url of that old video, it's a wonderful document!

Great swinging music. As a drummer, do like the "pocket drumming" of Gijs.
