I am truly appreciating your channel more and more. this is a great idea which I am going to do. I have three boys, and we have little space for towels in the small bathroom we have. Many racks are needed and what better way then to customize it for each, and for my wife. They will all love it. THANK YOU!
That looks really great ! I can’t wait to start on a branch scroll project myself .Ive been itching to try this ever since your branch scroll video . Thanks for the lesson Roy .
It looks great, it's something that a beginner Smith like me can do. It might make the wife happy. A few weeks ago you made a cross which inspired me to make something similar. The wife loves it. Happy new year too you and your family.
Roy, I’ve been playing with stainless for situations like moist environments of a bathroom. I recommend! People really seems to like the glow of forged stainless. Hope this helps bud!
Didn't see it in the video, but did you do any ornamental forging on the long surfaces? Something to make it appear as if the entire bar was forged rather than just the ends and the twist? I agree it would be purely esthetic forging to remove the appearance of the original milled bar.
I could just feel the frustration of not being able to fine your marks for the twist. Happens to me every time. Drives me nuts. Wish the was some kind of marker that would show up.
You should see my bride-to-be's toilet paper holder. She has the last name Smith, so the bottom makes an "S". I am a McCravy so when you look at the side it makes and "M" and some pretty little twists and tiny scrolling at the ends
I really like the leaf ends, I think you called them fenneals? Someone please correct me on the spelling. I'm new to the craft and I love your channel so much inspiration to follow my dream. Tbh you convinced me that my dream was actually possible, so thank you for that Roy and Jessica!
@@ChristCenteredIronworks Thank you so much for the reply! I just didn't think that it was a plausible dream to achieve in this day and age. I love watching your videos they are very informative and inspiring. Do you have a video on how you made your forge by chance? If you do, I can't seem to find it, I'm looking at building a more permanent forge here soon. Thank you so much for everything you guys do, and Happy New Year!
My wife saw me watching this... now she wants one.
Great vid, brother!

Sometimes it is good to put the mounting holes on 16 inch centers to hit the wall studs
Nice one I will definitely have a go making one, thanks
Great video.. you awncered my question at the end on how you planned on finishing it for a bathroom..

Great looking piece Roy. I've got a new (to me) cast iron forge table. Something similar to that for the table to hang tongs from would be sexy
Would love to see that Rob
Man, the title gave me an interesting mental image of you set up a smithy in the bathroom.
Lol
I was thinking the same thing. I can just imagine seeing Roy dunking the bar end into the "slack tub" (and no, NOT the bathtub).
love it.

Dang you beat me to my idea Roy! I am several pieces In though for marketing.
We are both about 1200 yrs behind on this idea :-) use it all you want this one was for Jessica's Christmas present 🎁

"Finials" (the end of the bar). We are glad that we have inspired you to pursue your dream! Blessings in this new year. ~Jessica and Roy at CCIW
