HP Lovecraft was on vacation in a town which consisted of a port, a small forest, some farmland and an Inn, in which is was staying. He'd been recommended the inn by a close friend a few months earlier, and although the friend had been struck busy as of late, he had still resolved to go to see what it had to offer. One morning he decided to go out for a walk in the grove, and was shocked to see the trees, rather than being healthy and thriving, were dry and hollow. Lovecraft was terrified, and immediately began looking around for what supernatural could have caused the foliage to become husks of its former self. Looking around, he saw nothing, not even a stray rat from the local town, let alone any deer or other smaller animals. Unnerved by the strange state of the forests foliage, he sought out the huntsman of the village for help figuring out what was going on. When he finally found him in the tavern, HP saw he had a strange, vacant look in his eye. The huntsmen looked gaunt, like he hasn't eaten properly in months, with greying skin, bagging around the features of his face. "What's wrong with your forest?", Lovecraft asked. The huntsman replied angrily, "I DON'T WORK WIT' THE FOREST ANYMORE! LEAVE ME AND GO BACK TO WHERE YE CAME FROM" in a drunken stupor. Lovecraft backed away slowly, scared to provoke the huntsman any further and draw attention to himself for whatever conspiracy was obviously playing out here. He returned to his rented room and waited, drinking only the bottled water he had bought to the town with him in his pack. Obviously, he reasoned, there must be some contaminant turning the forest live dry and crunchy, and the men aggressive and worn. He waited tirelessly until nightfall, when the inhabitants of the cursed village would surely be asleep, and used the inns phone to contact the friend who had recommended him the place. After moments of trepidation, his friend picked up the phone, groggy over the hour of the call. Before he could say anything, Lovecraft interjected. "I'm all alone near a forest of no loam, I saw a huntsman of who I could not tell and then he pleaded that I beat it home!", Lovecraft explained. There is one thing Lovecraft would never forget, the reply from his friends voice, the reply, the reply: "You fool! The warren is dead!"
Harley Warren: *dying horribly under a crypt with unspeakable horrors around him*
This song: *upbeat vibing*
It's what we're about!
Funky and upbeat, like Scooby Doo crossed over with unfiltered Lovecraftian horror.
No! Not Warren! He didn't have a chance to pick up the latest Darkest of the Hillside Thickets album. The poor bastard.
Dukes of Alhazred might be the greatest fucking album title I've ever heard
When I read the story I cry cuz I feel bad for Warren, when I listen to this I cry because this is a masterpiece
As a huge Lovecraft fan, and a rock fan I'm so happy I found this.
An unholy grail if there ever was! :D
