Katherine McPartlan To be a good engineer, you need to be able to make things sound immensely simple, so stupid people, people who don’t know how it works, and people who don’t do what you do, can understand it well.
When you don't have to worry about everything from chemical balance heartbeat or your circulation you can get a lot more done Especially helps if you're not the largest overthinkers in the galaxy I guess it has its benefits though as almost all things do
I think that's what they're implying here, humans slapping stuff together to make something that does the job needed, and then they refine the details to make it function far better than humans can make it, while having a basic design/idea to work off of can drastically cut down on the time needed to think about every small detail

I must have listened to this story twenty times now. It makes a great background music while I'm playing my games mostly silently. You have picked great stories to audio-funny, sensible, and interesting. And your voice sounds like its on the way to professional for this stuff-different voices amongst tune.
It breaks my brain a little to think they could just will their hearts to stop beating. From my human perspective it seems like a manual on-off switch for their lives and that alone is goddamn terrifying to think about. I like having control over my existence in a general sense, but dear god don’t give me that much responsibility over my own body because I know I’ll fuck it up. Especially whenever I have to divert attention to something else, like my homework. Could you imagine having to focus on a homework problem for a bit and that alone sends you into a heart attack because you forgot to keep your heart beating

For a moment I thought I was hearing things. Who puts drug use and clock manufacturing on the same level?!

The amount of parts ive made and seen made with napkin and note card drawings is amazing. And most of them

Bruh, how do the alien race do their homework if they also have to concentrate on breathing and heartbeat?
I see why I found this in a playlist about humans being space Orcs, or to be more accurate Space Orks. Perfectionism vs Good Enough.
Yeah I'm going through one as well, probably the same one and I absolutely love it 😂

This is my favorite HFY story because it makes nominal sense is not insane wank and explores interspecies interactions smartly
I would’ve started with interchangeable parts and went from there
