Great explanation, thanks. It has been our experience that most people when informed of the 90 day limit are incredulous.
With Bulgaria and Romania. Nowadays they are Schengen members, but checks still happen on the land borders because 2 Schengen member states had doubts on the effectiveness of Romania and Bulgaria to enforce border law, although the European Commission was of the opinion that they're fully ready.
Later this year, the Entry/Exit System will go into effect, basicly replacing stamping and manual checks by automated checks. Instead of a border agent doing manual calculations, the process will be done by an automated IT system that does the calculation.
3:32 there is a error in the map...Croatia is part of the Schengen Zone
Brother, thank you for the straight up shi-. Right on.
As this is a 2024 video, you've forgotten to include Croatia in both the EU, and Schengen- they never copied the UK with Art. 50!! The EEA is not identical to the Eurozone!!
Good video
Please, if I have a Poland student visa and use that to get into Brussels, can I switch in and off during the 90-day period while working on a permit in belgium?
Appreciate the video. You have confirmed everything I've read online to this point however today I found this statement on the official Schengen website which appears to say the opposite? (Last paragraph) thoughts?
How long can I stay without a visa in the Schengen area?
You can stay 90 days in any 180-day period within the Schengen area.
When applying this rule, the following aspects should be taken into account:
• The date of entry is considered as the first day of stay in the Schengen territory;
• The date of exit is considered as the last day of stay in the Schengen territory;
Stays in these states are not calculated in the overall period of stay for the Schengen area. Instead the 90-day limit is
calculated individually for each of these states. For instance, after a 90-day stay in the Schengen area, the person can
immediately travel to Croatia and stay for another 90 days there.
Croatia no. I think if you drive to Romania maybe.
Hi, I know this. But the above came directly from www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Required-documents-Short-Stay-C-Visa.-faq.pdf
So do Americans need to apply for visa
This is confusing as hell. They actually seem to be kind of United States of Europe , and same time they do not really. it is a mess. They have on their passports written " European Union" but same time they claim they are independent states. They have same passport size, same agreed EU color but on bottom is a state. - like US passport would have after United States having then written still Alabama , Florida or Oregon. They have "federal budget" but they still claim to be independent states. They can use their health card to be treated in different EU states , but they still claim that they are independent states.
They have right to live anywhere in EU but still claim to be independent states. it is confusing even for Europeans not mention Americans
