Hello. I have a question If I arrive in France in April 4, 2024 and travel in Schengen territories for 89 days and return home on July 2, 2024. When or what date can I return to the E U? Basically I want to be back to E U for 15 days starting October 3, 2024.
Just a tip for anyone who is a new zealand or australian citizen. Some countries have visa waiver agreements so that you can spend 90 days in a 180 day period regardless of time spent in other schengen countries. These countries (for australian citizens) include austria, belgium, denmark, finland, france, germany, iceland, italy, luxembourg, netherlands, spain, norway and sweden. For nz citizens it is the same along with czech republic, greece, portugal and switzerland aswell.
I love the strategies. In your video. But why is it 90 in and 120 out. I thought it was 90 in and 90 out totally 180? Then the reset I think I'll use the 30 then 60 strategy as a planning guide.

Hey! I had a quick question. Am I allowed to spend my 90th day, on the 180th day in the Schengen Zone? So for example if I entered on the 1st of January and stayed for 60 days then left for 90 days and re-entered for the final 30 days to June 30th, am I then able to stay in the zone because on July 1st my 180 days restarts? so I essentially don't leave the Schengen zone on the 90th day (June 30th) because the new 180 day period re-starts the next day on July 1st. If you get citizenship to a country in the Schengen zone does that mean you can travel through every Schengen country and stay for more than 90 days without having to leave? For example if I got citizenship in Malta does that mean I could go stay a year straight in Sweden without having to leave or notify anyone?
As a citizen / passport holder you have the right to free movement which means you can go and travel around without any restrictions in time. Not sure about needing a residence as well
Yes, if you are a citizen of the EU (even if that's not a Schengen country), Norway, Switzerland, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you can freely live and work in any of the other countries. I am a French citizen, so the 90/180 day rule doesn't apply to me, and I can also live and work almost unrestricted in other EU countries like Romania and Ireland which are not in Schengen. When the UK was in the EU, we were never in Schengen, but UK citizens still could freely live and work in EU and EFTA countries.
Because you can only stay 90 days out of 180 days. That’s the base rule of the EU. So going 90days, staying 90 days out, would mean you overstay if you count back the 180 days from that day that you are back.
@@travelaimes but 90 plus 120 is 210. If I left the Schengen at day 89 and stayed out for 95 days wouldn’t that rest my 180 day period and thus give me another 90 days. I guess I am confused.
@@enjoylife6969 it’s very confusing.. On the day you want to re-enter you have to count backwards 180 days. An if from that moment you have stayed 90 days or more, you are overstaying. For those first 30 days you would have stayed 91 days.. not 90, hence why you need to stay out an additional 30 days.

Can I still go on holiday to other Schengen countries like France before my visa starts? or will I be denied entry because I am entering the Schengen zone before my start date? You will have to see if you can have another travel visa before the student visa starts, these are 2 different purposes so require different visas. But make sure if you need 90 days in Spain, that you don’t overstay the 90dayd by different travel

What if ur help with the Schengen Visa 90/180 rule? I understand that you have 90 days to suspend the total over the course of 180 days. So let's say I start my travel to the Schengen zone on October 14th 2023 and stay until December 11th. Totaling 59 days. I still have 31 days left to use in the remaining 180 days. Now let's say I came back into the Schengen zone in the 5th month (March 2024) of the remaining 180 days to use my last 31 days. Once I used up my 90 days for this time period of from October 14 to April 11. Will my 90/180 start over again immediately after April 11, 2024? My goal is to use up my last 31 days within the last 180 days, then maybe 90 days will start over April 12th, 2024 so I wouldn't have to leave the Schengen zone for another 90 days. Is my thought process correct? 🫠
It’s a rolling 180 days, so every day they look back to the last 180 days so it does not start over in April. In April they look at the previous 180 days which would still include your time in the fall in Europe

Hi. If I enter schengen 12/27/22 and leave on 90th day of 3/26/23 and enter a non schengen country that day is it considered last day in schengen and first day in non schengen ? Wouldn't my re entry date in to schengen be a problem as it might not be exactly 180 days that have passed ? Would I have to take an overnight bus or train to arrive the next day in non schengen ? Hello. I'm from Canada. I got in to England on June 30th. Spent until July 10th, went to Greece on that day and spent in Greece until July 13th, I spent a day in Albania from Greece (no overnight). Went to Italy July 13 and stayed until July 26 and to Switzerland from July 26 until present. So when is my 90 days expired? I don't want to go back yet to my home country. I love Europe and I want to stay longer to explore more. Thank you

When you are married with a EU citizen you have freedom of movement for unlimeted time when you are together with your partner.. you are then falling under the 2004/38 EU regislation.
Hi, I have a UK passport. If I have been in Croatia for 55 days, Italy for 11 and Portugal for 14 days. (Recently) Am I able to now go to Greece for 37 days because Croatia doesn’t count towards the 90 days ? If I’m correct I will have been 62 days in Schengen area by the end. Is that is allowed for me to now go to Greece or does Croatia count? Thanks
Croatia doesn't count yet, but starting in the coming year, Croatia is joining Schengen. I'm a dual British French citizen, so thankfully Brexit hasn't impacted my free movement

But my ticket back to China is on May 31st, which means I will be overstaying! But I don't want to overstay either. Make sure to check the calculator on the exact dates, but I would say indeed try to go a non schengen country and make sure you still have 1-2 days to travel back to the zone before going home

@@waakomedia9861 Only country you enter and leave the Schengen Zone, you would have a hard time finding anyone that could even stamp it when moving between counties in Schengen.

No because you need to count back 180 days and after 90 in and 90 out, you would have still stayed the 90 days, on day 181, hence why staying out 120 days is needed.

some people claim 90 days in and 90 days out of schengen will work. It all depends on the individual visa’s or travel requirements for the non-schengen countries! Just look it up but I think for those it would be usually 30-90 days per country rather than spread out over the zone
The maximum amount of time you can spend in the Schengen area is 90 days in any 180 day period, so you couldn't go in for 60 days, leave for 10 days, and go back in for 60 more, for example, because that would exceed 90/180 day limit. It's to stop people entering for 90 days, leaving for a day, and coming back for another 90 days

you show 90/180 but then give example of 90/120. In Schengen for 90 then out for 4 months (120) why not 180?

I was told you leave for 90 days then you can go back for 90. I don’t understand the 4 months ?

Because you can only stay 90 days out of 180 days. That’s the base rule of the EU.

Usually just first and last but they might also stamp other places if you are flying

I would just leave a day later just to be safe, but you can always ask at the border what they suggest too!
Any part of a day counts as a whole day, even if you enter at 23:59, or leave at 00:01, that still counts as 1 whole day

When you're in the Schengen area, you are free to move between any other Schengen country, and Switzerland is in Schengen

Switzerland IS part of the Schengen zone and you need to also count the days you spent in Switzerland.
I don't understand the 120 part. 180-90=90. So when you stay for 90 days, you have to stay out of 90 days, not 120

My initial thoughts are yes you can for max 60days as you haven’t passed the 90day maximum stay

some people claim 90 days in and 90 days out of schengen will work. Glad I found this.I was planning my retirement travel and this makes more sense.Can I stay in non schengen countries more than 90 days ? I would rather be in eastern europe most of the time rather than the pricier western countries. Thanks
It all depends on the individual visa’s or travel requirements for the non-schengen countries! Just look it up but I think for those it would be usually 30-90 days per country rather than spread out over the zone

I know 90 days validity what is 180 days??
The maximum amount of time you can spend in the Schengen area is 90 days in any 180 day period, so you couldn't go in for 60 days, leave for 10 days, and go back in for 60 more, for example, because that would exceed 90/180 day limit. It's to stop people entering for 90 days, leaving for a day, and coming back for another 90 days

I have a Schengen visa for 30 days and it’s valid until December this year. Multiple entry. I went from September 27 to October 1 so a total of 5 days. Does that mean I have 25 more days to spend inside the Schengen zones? And do I need to enter Switzerland again ? Because I’m planning to do 2-3 nights stay in some other parts of the Schengen zone. I hope you can answer all my questions.
This depends on if you have a single entry or multiple entry visa
