Salt of the bloody earth this couple! What genuine people. I've got my Kent Saddlery ringers belt on right now and its fairdinkum the toughest belt I've ever owned. Terrific craftsmanship!
Wandering around RUclips....down the rabbithole......to come across this and see something like the young workers, way out there on these stations, smiling and laughing about having saved up money for what they wanted & getting excited for the Kents annual visit......no darkness or irony or anything....very charming & heartwarming.
This story was from 2019. Enjoyable if somewhat sad end of an era. Yes, you can certainly buy things online these days but somethings are best bought after you feel it in your hands first because your hands know if something feels right or wrong. Another thing about shopping in person is that you get to see other things that you may not have known about before be they tools or clothing. Hopefully Lyle and Helen are enjoying their retirement at least from the Station Run. I suspect that they will probably still help out in the workshop. Thirty five thousand kilometres in 5 months is a heck of a road trip to do year after year. Mark from Melbourne Australia
From Canada the second largest country in the world. However the vastness of Australia surpasses anything here. Being four days from the closest supermarket gives you a appreciation how large Australia really is. I live in Toronto Canada population over 2 million you open the front door and you are 40ft from a neighbour.
Great story love the real leathers here as quality lasts and sadly a old trade that seems to be on the run out gota love the outback and the real genuine Peaple out there
take a good, hard look here folks because soon enough, you'll be saying "remember the good old days when....". beautiful story about the days when people were what's important in life.....
There was up until a few years ago we had "LANSKY'S saddlery & leather shed. Have been getting my hand made double loop belt since 2005 untill a few years ago when the shop closed. 2 brothers ran the shop and made anything leather in house. Sad to see 2 of the very few saddle makers close up shop. I'd dare say these blokes may know of the Lansky brothers
These video presentations, do more to promote Australia, than a "manufactured promotion can do". Any one watching this video, would have seen the Country, the People, the lifestyle, that makes Australia, what it is. I hope that someone can step in and continued to take the on road truck, back across the outback, selling the product that those, who work on those cattle stations, enjoy being able to buy.
All the news in the world isn’t grim. It’s wonderful to be reminded of that and these people really exist. Long live the Aussies.

There is nothing that melts my heart watching people helping people. Thank you to the Kent family

I'm kind of relieved to see that your iconic flies haven't got extinct yet in the last decades. In fact, they appear to be stronger than ever .)
@ 7:07 This guy is too proud to brush flies off of his face. Amazing.
Wonderful people who produce top quality products. If I could get home I'd love to try and do a few runs for them before I get too old.

Great couple! But how do they put up with the flies?

But flamin' flies drive me crackers, no flies here on the Easter seaboard

Helens a gem 🙂
I bet that's a specialized enough trade you could come to the USA on a work visa and travel here if you'd like. Lots of farms still left here.
Love abc talking us.

Always where you leave 'em.
Can't drop your reins over your arm and roll a smoke on a bike.

Problem: They need to make saddles to herd cattle so they can make more saddles
Solution: 🤦♂️
They won’t last a year in retirement before they are back at it!
A sabbatical you might say :-)
