- Hewitt is the largest producer of organic meat in Australia.
From cattle and sheep stations to piggeries, the company's a big player with more than two million hectares of land.
Behind it are two brothers who grew up as wild bush kids with big dreams.
Landline's Kristy O'Brien paid them a visit in the Northern Territory.

Brilliant .. . These fellas have linked into a sustainable food business that is beneficial for all involved including the animals and land.
Top job fellas, from a fellow organic small scale farmer.
Fabulous story. What fabulous role models for the organic movement. You can inherit, and still stuff it up. Well done gentlemen on your lateral thinking and hard work.
I did not know where the Cleavers meat brand i buy at Coles came from, so glad to watch this story, here come another Hungie boys, keep up the good work.
Would love to see more of how the organics plays out too feeding 10's of thousands of sheep, pigs and cattle. It would be a much interesting story.
Our country people out there grinding are Australian’s real heroes…also helps if you have parents with a few stations to start with and the worlds biggest pension funds cash
Yes, a head start in life.
Life is good...for some.
Awesome!
Very cool video, very inspiring brothers!
How have we not seen this product in our retailers???
Prolly cause its too expensive for us to buy.
Nice to inherit a cattle station.
To inherit a property one earns The right and privilege by doing a long apprentceship .of learning and doing everything under.dad and others starting right at the bottom.
Let
They can be proud of their family. How many have drunk and gambled the fortunes left to them, leaving their children with nothing.
Yeah!
Silver spoon.
And aren't they really clued in and authentic inheritors of this land......takin' it to the next level.....farming as it ought to be
Would love to hear more about the Hewitt's story and strategic partnership strategy. Can you recommend any resources?
Thank you for this incredulous story. Without this program, I would not have known about the Hewitts Organic Meats!
I feel ripped off here in WA. I haven't seen or heard of this preferred meat for sale anywhere here in WA 😢 Are you supplying WA? If so, who are the stockists? If not, can I buy online? I'm over non-organic, toxic foods supplied by big-chain supermarkets. Love your feedback.
Thanks again, for what you do. I love that you haven't lost yourselves; that you have used high intelligence, and Humility to set your business up 🎉❤🙏
I grew up in the country ,with a friend like a brother,we had our differences ,like chalk and cheese...nice story..oh...and stuff the banks lol
Beautiful story.
Humility is key
hard work does pay of and dreams can come true
LOL, being born with a silver spoon sure helps.
Great Story, I really enjoyed the Video
Love this 👏👍
What a great job these guys are doing. They mentioned that they are looking at ways of sequestering carbon. Well, rotational grazing is the ticket there. Though I’m sure they are already on to that.
Incredible
Love it ❤️❤️🙏🙏👍👍👍👍🦘🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺🫘🫘🍺🍺
WOW ... AMAZING , SURE GREAT THINK HAPPENS TO HUMBLE FOLKS .

It’s sad that Australia never made a major partnership with this family. Instead the only way to grow and keep running is offshore
Australian financial.sector doesn't have the fore sight that the Americans and Canadian do
Real yellowstone rancher😂
Visionary’s
They should sell all that land and buy 100 acres in nz and probably have the same amount of cattle
35000 cattle beasts would be stacked 3 high on 100 acres, let alone 200,000. NZ soils are still being raped by artificial fertilisers, cadmium and nitrates in ground water. How sustainable the Australian no return organic is going to be will take a few years to develop.
Words without mental backing. 100 acres with 35,000 heads of cattle
Nice.....
Keep looking after water courses , ❤
Do they sell in Australia, where can I buy there meat
Someone commented that they buy it at Coles. Brand name Cleavers
Word G
I hope they grow more trees, the farms look dry....
Rotational grazing and permaculture?
I'm confused.
Some ABC channels don't allow comments.
Selective much?
👍
You lost me with your Canadian investors.
Iconic Australian business?? Your funded from another country.
It is.still.and Australian.buisness
Remember Mrs Reinhardt has Chinese backers and aaco has a British billionaire invester.
I don't reckon good businessmen make good farmers. Nor do good farmers make good businessmen. But, put the two together and farming can be a sensational business.
The methane cowboys
Better for them to be quiet. If or when you're to visible and well known, questions are going to be asked.
-What about the locals-?
What do they get out of it?
So many sheep and cattle need Water.
Where does it come from?
Pumping dry the aquifers?
And what then?
What grass ? Just some dry old scrub land obviously I’m wrong the cattle looked fat all the livestock looked so well
Could only be Australia.
need to improve the marble
No its not
How dumb....!
Giant land grab
Overseas investors means owners.!
I think that it’s crown land on long lease. Canadian military investments ?
Well why is it so b****y difficult to buy certified organic meat and particularly offal??? I've had to stop eating meat because nobody, but nobody carries organic anything, meat especially meat! Oh, hold on ... is it now going to Canada??? That would be b****y right!!!
There's nothing worse than wearing a dirty shirt while on the job, great job Hewitt Bros
So really they're in farm management. Blank cheque from the Canadian government and the boys previous knowledge has got them where they are. As for
" Organic" there's no such thing in the livestock industry.
I wonder why there wasn’t an Australian based government entity or business capitalist that offered / grabbed the opportunity to partner up and keep in “local” rather than moving “glo-cal”?
Organic 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lets hope they buy back some of the Chinese owned farms!
More questions than answers about ownership, conservation and the damage from hard hooved animals on ancient, sensitive land 😮
The most unsustainable business in Australia since colonization has been grazing.
The word "organic" is being abused😂
This a good reason for people to quit eating meat. Or eat meat in much, much less quantity.
Aboriginal Land,
Canadians prosper while our economy suffers, just another way to sell soil overseas, no different to mining
Canada is in a terrible spot. Many are leaving.
One of Australias land thiefs, thats aboriginal land.
