The entire song is about rhyming unrhymable words in a manner so smooth we do not even notice. Verse 1 He spends his first few lines directly saying that we're about to witness a masterpiece. He says this with the primary words, "witness," "purest," "rawest," "flawless," "hardest," "honest," and "artist," all of which are essentially or completely rhymeless. (They have, respectively, 1, 2, 0, 1, 0, 0, and 0 rhymes.) The next line has the phrases "chip off," "old block," and "old dock," none of which have any rhymes. The name of the song is "Business," which has zero rhymes, and the theme of the song is Batman and Robin, both of which have zero rhymes. He employs both of these words in the subsequent line, and in the next line employs the words "Saddam" and "Laden," neither of which rhyme with anything. He ends the next line with the rhymeless word "pilot." He ends the line after this with the rhymeless word "hinges," rhymes with "oranges," "syringes," and then transitions to rhyming "inches" (again, none have rhymes). The first line of the hook ends with the rhymeless name of the song, "Business," which he rhymes with "what is this" and "get a witness" (which also has no rhymes). Verse 2 The first line ends with "miracles," which has no rhymes. He promptly rhymes it with "wilikers" and "syllables," neither of which has any rhymes. The next line ends with "Gotham," which has no rhymes, and the next line ends with "criminals," which has no rhymes. He rhymes "rap criminals" with previous "bat syllables." The line after this employs the phrase "skip to your lou" ("your lou" has no rhymes) and ends with the phrase "do best" (no word or word-string rhymes with this). He ends the next line with "do it," then "the shit," then "hated on," obviously no rhymes. He ends the next line with "no such thing," as if saying there's no such thing as a rhyme for it, but then immediately rhymes "no such thing" twice, and then says "so much more"-and rhymes it. Then, as if signing the piece, he finishes with two rhymes of his own name "Marshal," neither of which has any rhyme. Verse 3 Third verse functions the same way. In the first two lines he's found two rhymes for "duo" (one of which is the first two syllables of "you already"), and rhymes "dynamic" with "why panic," and rhymes "fully capable." He then rhymes "duet" 5 times in the space of 2 lines. In the next two lines, he rhymes "get to see an MC" with "these beats and be," while beginning a rhyme-streak with rhymeless "so freely"-as if saying he's still free even with the constraint of using only rhymeless words-and then rhymes it thirty times in eight lines. The whole thing is like how Bach would impose extraordinary constraints on his work and compose within those constraints as if they weren't even there because that's how much of a genius he was. Eminem is the Bach of rap. This was copied from someone commenting on another video where someone reacted to the same song.
@@GhostWatcher2024 It's actually bat syllables, it just sounds similar to bad syllables, which is why he said it. The genius annotation says this: The “gee willikers Dre” is the tip off that it’s the ‘60’s Batman series line that Robin used to say things like 'Holy bat [insert object]’. It could also be misheard as ‘bad syllables’, a reference to the theme of the song, bad MC’s. Bad syllables is when rappers only rhyme one syllable at a time and have no creativity.
You can’t understand fully how dope this song is unless you were from that time. Like how a lot of elder ppl or lil kids today won’t know how heavy today’s issues or today’s culture is because they’re not in it or living in it if that makes sense. Relevance is keeping up with the times at THAT time. But this song and it’s meaning is still relevant today. Which should receive more props than what people give him
I LOVE watching people listen to old Em and his insane flow and just watch their face get a bigger and bigger and bigger smile until they can’t contain themselves.. been there, done that.
Eminem has got hundreds of songs & he has the most amount of hit songs more than any other hip hop artist in history , he's been in the game making songs for over 3 decades & been famous & on top of the charts for over 2 decades now💯
Yall gotta do the music video of Eminem's just lose it, ll cool j- Im bad, dr dre nuthin but a g thang, rakim- my melody, eminem ft dr dre- say what you say
This song popped up in the internet because it was used in the recent DC movie trailer Shazam fury of the gods and this song has me hyped for for the movie
The level of songwriting mastery here is bananas. And the best thing about Eminem (well… old Eminem) is that he is able to craft his songs with a god-level rhyme scheme and flow, but even more importantly, the songs are actual narratives that make sense and evolve. Lots of the “fast rappers” can write stuff but it’s not intriguing, there’s no story, complicated rhymes feel forced just for the sake of having complicated rhymes. Every word in this song sticks to a tone, a theme, a delivery, a story, and even though he’s rhyming multiple different syllables in each line for entire verses, the story doesn’t suffer. He finds a way to say what he wants to say, without having to sacrifice rhyming to make the story more credible, or sacrifice important elements of the story to make more elaborate rhymes. Why would you have just an awesome narrative or just awesome rhymes when you can have both? He’s unbelievable with words, more like an author or director than a rapper.
Where’s yo girl been brooo?!?! Prolly been back I prolly only have seen the ones with just you lately tho. Glad y’all are both doing good, was beginning to worry bout you a bit. 💯
Yeah he gets words to rhyme by adding syllables to Words. So for example he turns Oranges into a three syllable word to better fit syringes three syllables.
Most of ems music you have to listen to the album and understand what he’s doing with the song and what’s going on at that time. It makes the song much better
"You ain't even impressed no more, you're used to it." Maybe a 7 for Em, but this song is amazing in the grand scheme of things. Definitely still one of my favorites though. Perhaps I just value the lyrics more than ya'll.
This might be random but would y’all react to Papoose - Alphabetical Slaughter and Papoose - Victory 2003. It’ll be a nice change and the bars and punchlines in those songs will blow your minds let alone the poetry and how it’s constructively written from A-Z.
Guess who's back? Remember me? 😋🤗 Your channels have grown a lot since our last "conversation". I'm happy for you! I've been away for a minute, life happens. Best wishes to you and your baby. :*
Love this song and this channel.... but last time I saw this it was way different. She black haired and not blonde... her arms crossed....her mean mug the whole time...check out her blog... Am I the only one that sees this? And when he was like "a girl with good looks that cooks and cleans" bahahaha
He rides this beat like a fucking MONSTER 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of the most underrated Eminem songs easily.

U lie..Blacks don't like Em,,, said someone...
@@Tluangi0 Lol, blacks ALSO said they didn't like Vanilla Ice when he came out. That was an even bigger lie.
