The soundtrack is a mainstay on my playlists so...that's a given for me.
I would like to say that Life Is Strange gives off such a raw vibe to me, it doesn't feel like a strange inhuman world or fantasy it feels real, especially with the consequences you face for your actions. I see these characters and each time the games make me happy, but sad and I can't explain to you why.. They give me nostalgia of a life I felt I lived and experienced but never existed in, I can't tell you completely what it is but I can say: No game has ever given me such feelings of reliving memories of a life I never existed in, and I believe that's why they're unique and special to me and also why this is one of my favourites. Keep them coming.. I need those moments, they're peaceful and make me carefree.

I completely understand you & I felt the same, it never came into my mind though, it’s weird how I don’t even have a brother but I feel Sean, daniel and what they went through soo much ...it’s insane how every single episode of their game especially the last episode of life is strange 1, before the storm & 2, made me cry for hours & days, nothing negative towards the game but I hate it soo much lol I can’t take a breath, lis 1 was the most emotional for me cuz I could relate to max, I also had a beast friend & lost him cuz he had to travel.. but I cried a lot to this game as well

I just can't play anything else after finishing this game. Got too attached to the main characters that i have screenshots of their story on my mobile, on my pc...everywhere. I cant play anything else now. My favourite game of all time. It has changed me so much. Thank u, Sean and Daniel...hope to see u guys soon again.
Heck, I feel the same. It's laughable for me now, that I bought it alltogether with Beyond: Two Souls, and decided to play it first cause I was pretty sure it will be weaker than BTS. And now I cannot even make myself start anything new. Even more ironic is the fact I started playing it immediately after I finished The Evil Within 2 which IMO also has one of the most emotionally tearing-you-apart finales ever, not so far behind LIS 2. So, games, please give me a f*cking break, ok? :P
Maciej Bachorski I'm a fan of both Beyond and LiS 2. Both of them are so underappreciated, both of them are so personal and down to earth and both of them will always have a place in my heart. I'd recommend you play Beyond, it's really great (if you haven't already). And you'll even find some similarities between those two, hehe.

This game isn't for everyone. Especially people who can't stop comparing it to LIS1. They're both different stories, just the same universe. LIS2 stuck to me more because I'm the eldest of 4 brothers and I would do anything for all my boys. I don't care how old they are. I've also had to move places because I became the talk of the town for something I didn't do. Like Sean, I keep pressing forward for a better tomorrow, but like Daniel, I yearn for a home to settle down in.
To be honest, LIS 2 is much better in my opinion. When you are on the run from the cops while protecting your beloved brother, something just hit different. It’s more emotional and relatable to most players, including me. I’m not saying that LIS1 sucks, of course it was a great game and I love the story and the characters too. However LIS2 gave us the sense of connection towards the brothers; putting your life on the line against the whole world as a teen and a kid is quite intense, you know?
They are both good.
The reason a lot of people loved lis2 is because it just hits home for a lot of people. You being the older brother taking care of your younger brother.

This was a phenomenal game. It’s dramatic to say the Life is Strange series, especially this one, changed my life. I’m so attached to the characters, and I cried so much at the end of Life is Strange 2. I love every part of it, and I can’t wait for Life is Strange 3 or even something more with LIS2.

It saddens me to see so many people who didn’t even play life is strange 2 just because Max and Chloe aren’t in it, so they just start talking crap about the game. I personally think the story of Lis2 was better, more elaborated and I got much more attached to Sean and Daniel. The whole experience was so beautiful and intense, I wish I could play it again as if it was the first time...
So please play the goddamn game before raging about it, and you’ll see for urself ;)

YES!! I really hope so too, I liked the way they just referenced the 1st game in Lis2, I would like to see a new story, that is still set in the same world as the previous games.
And same, I cry just by listening to the soundtrack or watching some emotional scenes :( I miss my boys but I know their story has already been told

This was my favorite game in my franchise because the story was amazing and it had so many emotions throughout the story.

LiS was cool for the academia/aesthetic, the time rewind powers/photography, the mystery etc. but I don't think I attached myself to the characters as well as I connected with Sean...I mean, I sacrificed Chloe in a heartbeat. All of Sean taking everything for granted in the past, his vulnerability with his brother and also him trying to use powers and nothing happening was so heart-breaking. I also loved the life on the road and just chancing across those who would make a profound impact (I really thought of Nomadland from some of these moments), as well as the larger scale and greater risks. I can't remember how I felt playing LiS the first time through, but I think I'm in the minority for preferring this.

Life is Strange 2 is because it teaches the player how to make choices in life and how to do the right things in order to reach a goal in life just like Sean Diaz

Booper Dooper well, it's still a DONTNOD game, they're, like, between Telltale and QuanticDream in that regard. But still closer to Telltale. They probably don't have as much resources to make their stories branch out as much. Still, they are great at what they do.

I love this game and it still holds the title of ‘Best Life is Strange game’ to date. Every episode was action-packed and every episode left you wanting more of the story. Life is Strange 2 is a perfect example of what True Colors should’ve been.

I love this one personally but the first one does have its unforgettable charms that introduced me to the franchise. This one infected my heart for a long time. When it ended, I didn't want to let it go. For me, that's the difference between the first one and this. It stuck with me and to this day, it still does.

I tried to but i just really didn't enjoy this game. Doesn't come close to the first game. For one you play as the brother to the guy with super powers, his only super power was to get beaten up all the time. And i cant bring myself to like the younger brother as he was the one that consistently got them into trouble to drive the narrative, the officers over reaction to the 'blood', the reason theyre on the run, the weed cabin incident was really annoying cause it didn't matter what you did you were still getting that injury, the cultist church story, the police station incident. But even just the gameplay, walk from here to there, do this boring chore and ask your brother to use powers to lift something. There were so many scenes where minutes past that they didn't do or say anything and was just the camera angle shuffling. Even the romances had no depth and were confined to the weed camp, either bang this boyish hippy girl or this girlish hippy boy. I can't even bring myself to replay it for the easy playstation trophies
LiS1 was so netflix teen drama, idk i mean you dont always have to have the powers to be attached to the game. this was wayyy better than LiS1. graphics and storyline.

I feel you man the choices mattering was a good thing. I just much preferred the story of life is strange 1. I literally couldn't have guessed what the hell the ending was going to be in the first one. And it crushed me to have to let chloe die but I couldn't kill the whole town. I thought there would have been a reason for Daniels power, like I feel max had her power to be able to see chloe again one last time. Also solve a murder mystery and put a stop to a criminal at large. Maybe Daniels power was to help them get to mexico? But still the terrible cop who shot their dad and racist white people in the game and trump digs I didn't like either

Such a let down of a game, Sean was a terrible and unlikable character but Daniel was a really cool character as well as Esteban and the Eriksen family.
Episode 2 was the peak of this game then it felt like a David Cage from then on. The game lacks symbolism,foreshadowing,conspiracy and mystery. I wouldn’t mind Daniel returning as a blonde teenager but Sean was really annoying. Hopefully this is the last Life is strange game to feature a heavily inspired SJW agenda. Chloe Price and Rachel Amber are more Interesting than every character in this game, Captain Spirit has potential but he can die by a car in episode 2 (WTF?)
I wish Sean Diaz got taken by Jefferson instead of Rachel.
Okay, but how exactly is Sean annoying or terrible? And if you had actually played the whole game, you’d know that captain spirit doesn’t die after episode 2, he just broke his arm. As for the lack of mystery, the story is just different, and it would be boring to throw another murder mystery or whatever in the second game, as it’s already been done before. A good story doesn’t need to have as much mystery, plus it’s got a charm of it’s own. Don’t get me wrong I also love life is strange 1 but I feel like lis2 really brought something new, there were more locations, more interesting characters, as opposed to lis1 that only had 2 interesting characters : Max and Chloe (and Rachel in before the storm). They addressed the issue of racism in the states beautifully, maybe not perfectly but it sure gave me a lot of goosebumps throughout the whole game. So in the end, what really matters is the impact the game left on the player, not the amount of conspiracy, mystery or whatever. Lis2 made me feel very raw emotions, and a deep attachment to the 2 brothers, that’s maybe why I like more than the 1st one. Each to their own I guess.
Cosmic Tea I understand what you mean about murder mystery being non essential but the whole game lacks soul, in LIS 2 felt shallow and unsettling,
Starting up LIS 1 was very special, the overlook of the lighthouse with the tornado approaching as each episode went by was very atmospheric, the main theme is also unforgettable.
LIS 2 has bigger areas but LIS 1 had better areas, the scrapyard, Blackwater school and Chloes house beat every location that was shown in LIS 2.
LIS 1 felt like a complete story that carried on from episode to episode but LIS 2 felt like a different game each episode, it’s like the writers made the story up as they went along.
Max is shy girl and her best friend is a rebel/punk girl in a school full of hipster who all try too hard to fit in with each other. The dynamic between anxious Max and brave Chloe was very interesting and intriguing where as the dynamic between Sean and Max just felt miserable and empty.
Sean moaned about everything and was just a playable character being voiced by a voice actor, where as Chloe felt like a real person despite being a game character.
Daniel was actually likeable but the game messed that up because he’s not even the main character.
Every side character in LIS 1 was interesting because they all have a secret to hide, whether it be knowledge of Rachel Amber or a hatred towards Max.
In LIS 2 every character at the camp was strange and unsettling, they all had no limits and did whatever they wanted and Sean put his Daniel in danger by staying with them.
LIS 2 is probably the weakest out of all narrative choice games and it felt like a watered down version of beyond two souls. The game feels like a weird dream knowing that it’s the sequel to the first game, the first game is so immersive and emotional where as LIS 2 is just a flee the country simulator.
Even if LIS 1 didn’t have a plot it would still be better, because the characters are very likeable. I probably didn’t explain my points very well because it’s hard to express how much better LIS 1 is to LIS 2.

I feel the complete opposite, Lis2 is full of life, most characters have their own backstory, they have depth, their own sens of style and really feel like real persons, take the characters from ep 3 for exemple. I don’t think they were strange at all, they were tormented people who wanted to escape society. They were all so intriguing as opposed to the hipsters of blackwell academy who didn’t have any sort of backstory, they’re just the cliches of highschool : the mean popular girl, the Christian, the jocks, and well they’re all quite forgettable.
Max is cute but she is also really bland, and the creators even said it themselves she is supposed to be boring or neutral, so that to the player can relate more to her. All max has going on for her is her powers. So Chloe was probably the only interesting character in the game. Their dynamic is still good, cringey sometimes but I still like the game, it just lacks a lot.
Sean is a strong and brave character, he is only 16 and has not only to escape the authorities but also to be a father figure to his little brother. And I don’t know how you think their dynamic is empty??? That’s a pretty absurd thing to say, it was so pure and beautiful, it’s a story of brotherhood, they have a strong bond and are both devastated with the death of their father and you can tell how much they love each other and how Sean is sacrificing a lot for Daniel, how exactly is that empty? all his actions have an impact on Daniel and you really get to watch him grow episode by episode.
I like the fact that Daniel is the one to have powers, it would be boring for Sean to have them, Daniel would just be jealous and we would have complete control over the power, the fact that Daniel has it, makes the game more interesting and it’s a nice change, it gives him a bigger purpose than just being the little brother who follows us.
It’s amazing to watch their bond, and I loved teaching stuff to Daniel. The story of the 2 wolf brothers that was told every episode was so impactful to me, it felt raw, real and full of emotions. Lis1 didn’t have as near as many emotions as the second game, it really felt more like a teenage girl story.
The ending of Lis1 was executed so badly and it was probably the biggest disappointment of the game, our choices did not matter in the end, you just had 2 different endings that tried to be somewhat deep but turned out to be just plain. Lis2 on the other hand, has 7 different endings and all your actions, and even the dialogues have an impact on the story. Just the way that you educate Daniel, your relationships, it just really pays more attention to details, and I’m sorry but you can’t argue about that, the creators really made an improvement. The ending were all so full of emotions I still cry to this day if I rewatch one the them.
The “escaping simulator” you just talked about also just shows that you don’t seem to have any sort of empathy for the millions of people who go through this in the United States ? It just sounded really ignorant, and at this point it really just looks like you didn’t even play the whole game. This for me is even worse than saying Lis1 is just a time travel simulator , you’re completely missing the point. So again each to their own opinion. But you can’t just tell me the game was trash, it has a lot going on, and even if you don’t like the story, the game itself is better executed than the 1st one.

Every other choice making game is better, LIS 2 isn’t unique or worth buying.
I agree with LIS 1 having bad endings but everything else leading up to it is amazing.
The mystery of Rachel Amber didn’t feel important at the start of the game but as the episodes went on, the truth about what happened to her became very important. The dialogue was very stereotypical but it worked.
Episode 4 was a masterpiece, we start off by being in an alternate timeline which was very creepy and strange, then we pull the plug on Chloe and return to reality. Seeing the real Chloe again was relieving and a nice moment. After that Max and Chloe track down the location of a barn which holds a creepy white photography room downstairs with disturbing pictures that made me paranoid and curious as to who owns the place. Later on that day is the Vortex party, Max and Chloe are set on finding Nathan whom they think is the owner of the white room. They get a text from Nathan, and they go to the junkyard, then out of nowhere Max gets injected and Chloe gets shot, then we see Jefferson face looking down on Max.
That moment right there is one of the best cliffhangers to ever exist in storytelling imo. So much happened in just one episode and right as Max is close to finding the truth, her best friend died and she gets kidnapped.
When you look back on the previous episodes you’ll notice that all the signs were there about Jefferson, nobody was on to him despite him being a photography teacher and with that correlating with the binders and creepy pictures. The game deserves more than one play through due to how much secrets and foreshadowing that’s in the game. Episode 5 was disappointing but the endings were foreshadowed all along.
Playing BTS makes LIS 1 so much better but I’ll exclude that because LIS 2 doesn’t have a prequel/spin off, so I’ll focus on the base games.
LIS 2 has no episodes that can be as good as episode 4: Dark Room. There’s no cliff hangers, no excitement etc.
The only great moment in LIS 2 was when (optionally) Chris jumps out infront of the police car, that scene was done really well and it was the only time I got nervous/ shocked. The other episodes have no cliffhangers or hype leading into the following episode. The episodes literally just had the player cutting weed, sitting at a campfire for too long listening to the other guys stories (boring), playing a dice game with Daniel (boring), walking through a desert (boring) etc. The only tense moments was when Sean, Daniel and Finn infiltrated the weed house, the car scene at the end of episode 5, and escaping the truck driver in episode 1.
Story wise, LIS 1 was superior in nearly every way, the Easter eggs and plot were genius. BTS makes it much more devastating due to the time we spend with Rachel Amber, then with her being missing in LIS 1. LIS 2 doesn’t even have potential for a prequel/spin off due to how boring it is. They even fucked over David madson, by having him being divorced with Joyce.
It’s such a tragedy, how much passion and thought went into LIS 1 was absent in LIS 2.

Well I don’t know how a story about time traveling and a teenage girl and her best friend is exactly unique ?? Sure I loved the story, there was a lot of mystery, but one game doesn’t cancel out the other, both are good.
And thanks but I don’t need a whole recap of ep 4 I know damn well what went down in the “DARK room” lmao.
Saying there are no cliffhangers in Lis2 is just really overlooking the game, ep 2 and ep3 had a very intense scene at the end like you just said, and we didn’t even know if Chris was still alive or if Sean and Daniel were really ok at the end of ep3, and even if the cliffhangers are not as good as in Lis1, I really don’t think that’s important, as long as the story is good and impactful like I said.
There will always be “boring” scenes or transitions scenes in any story, I didn’t think it was that boring, it’s just how the story goes. Lis1 also has its annoying bits too, I for exemple hated the scenes in Blackwell, the students there were all plain and boring, just teenage shit, girls getting pregnant, weirdos, mean girls... Finding those bottles in the junkyard was also sooo boring and annoying. But hey it’s fine, didn’t take that long, same for Sean walking in the desert it took no more than 5 minutes so who cares.
There were a bunch of scenes to make up for it, like when Daniel lifts that dead tree in ep3 while confronting Sean, the romance with Finn or Cassidy, the lake scene, Daniel kicking some ass at the church at the end of ep4, all that was very special.
And same there are a bunch of more tense moments, you’d have to have a lack of interest of empathy for the characters not to be tense during the end of ep 5, or even when they just get caught breaking through the wall, and Daniel gets shot.
To say “there’s no passion that went into Lis2” is also complet bullshit, sorry but you really just diminished the creators for no reason. They actually visited every single location we see in the game, they got inspired by real towns, did the same exact path as the boys, from Seattle to Mexico. They improved the mechanics of the game, hired amazing voice actors who did an excellent job. They gave characters a backstory, a real personality that made them feel like real people. The endings were all raw and beautiful, although very sad. They went from having only 2 endings in Lis 1 to having 7 endings in Lis2.
There was a lot of attention to details, every single decision and dialogue can impact the game, for exemple just by not teaching Daniel to skip stones will lead to him being meaner to Sean in episode 3. If you’re nice to Daniel about him wanting to see Karen then he will wait for you. The way that you educate him will impact what he says and how morally he acts. I had to play the whole game again to get the different endings and I could experience so many different dialogues.
All those little things really add up and I can tell they put a lot of effort in the game, more so than in the 1st one, which is normal, they are learning and improving.
In the end, It’s still your opinion. But there’s just no need to bash Lis2, it was great and full of emotions. And so was Lis1.
