I listened to a lot of Willis on VOA, via shortwave. Such a delight to see him in his younger days, battling the world with great jazz. Conover did the world a wonderful service, for decades.
He was a great broadcaster who introduced me to jazz in the mid-1960s. Only wish there was a way to listen to some of his complete shows once more. Willis seems like such a nice man, too.

This man made me loving America and her Voice for Freedom - "The Jazz Hour" ! This beautiful Country is gone now, gone forever.
