Hey thank you I appreciate it! Yeah I believe they would sound similar both sharing the v6 although probably some differences since you got the turbos vs the supercharger. I’m sure you can find some videos on here to compare
Hey just got my b8.5 s5 a month ago and I’m looking at this exhaust. Love the sound of yours. But is there a difference in sound when your in comfort from dynamic mode?? And can I have a normal conversation with someone in the car while going 60mph on the highway without raising my voice?? lol
60mph and holding a conversation won’t be a problem there’s no drone with the touring edition. There’s a deeper growl compared to stock but really won’t notice a difference between those 2 modes unless you step the pedal
@@Dscotty last one Dscotty, forgot to ask but did you ever upgrade to the resonated downpipes? Wondering if those make a noticeable difference. Cheers! 👊🏼
@@gusfogel not yet I’m still on stock down pipes but know APR resonated downpipes are bigger than stock so I would assume it would make a difference but I’m not sure how much of a difference if it’s worth the money or not. I'd be interested in your take on the resonated AWE downpipes too @@Dscotty. I'm thinking about getting a set to go with my touring exhaust on my 4.2L, but I'm not getting them if there's little to no difference from stock; since they cost $1200 bucks nowadays. I'm considering the non-resonated ones too, but I don't want a super loud droning exhaust setup.
This particular system does not have active valve control where you can choose to open or close them via a button like some other systems do. Not sure if that’s what you’re referring to or not. They have “track” edition of this exhaust which is louder overall compared to this one the “touring” version
@@Dscotty my b9.5 S5 has the stock electronic exhaust valves that open in dynamic and close in comfort so if your model doesn’t then I guess my question is just does it sound better idling than it does stock haha
DScotty, just installed my Scorpion exhaust yesterday. So happy with it. Subtle around town. On WOT big dog! No drone at 70 mph. BTW, I also purchased the Scorpion downpipes. Luv it. The exhaust tips are 90 mm, the perfect size. The next upgrade is the heat exchanger, then Stage 1 034 tune for the ECU and TCU.
Yes I’m so happy you got it installed, totally worth it right! Gotta love a good sounding exhaust and I’m glad no drone either at highway speeds. Yes definitely get that tune I don’t have any experience with 034 but I hear a lot about them so I’m sure you’ll love that too! Let me know when you get the tune done too✌🏼

Could I get your opinion on something? The s4 I’m considering (she’s basically mine but I’m really deciding if it’s worth it to keep for myself or trade in) has some, interesting history... and as of now it’s about $8k to fix with stock parts- your opinion on if this is stupid thinking, but I can’t help but wonder if she is a perfect candidate for semi significant modification. The cats are likely blown (just need upgraded exhaust) The air filter needs a change ( time to go cold air for $50 more than replacement fee) and the only thing that’s a straight repair is the bushings/control arms. (Which can potentially be rebuilt myself with a friends lift and hydraulic press) I love the b8.5s and she had the red interior and silver exterior. But mechanically-am I jumping into a disaster if I want to pay less than 15k total?
Mmmm if you plan on modifying the car I personally would just go with the aftermarket parts, no sense in going stock then changing them out. For 8k you can do a lot of modifications, I did a video talking about all my kids an it was under 8k. It really comes down to what you wanna do. If there’s nothing else wrong with the car then I’d say go to the modification part but that’s just me.

I have a gorgeous set of high flow cats sitting in a box that I planned on getting installed a few years back but was afraid of what the car would sound like. It will get very loud and raspy I learned after some research. And it's not something you can just put on real quick and if you don't like it swap it back. Have to pull the engine to replace the cats and that's real expensive.
