What a wonderfully written tale! This is one I've had on my "to read" list for many years so I was glad to find this on audiobook read so well. I first read the entire Sherlock Holmes canon in 1968 when I was 10 years old and found The WHITE COMPANY at my local library in the early 70's and have since read many of his short stories and of course the SH series over and over but this one always eluded me. Again I say - in his normal way WONDERFULLY written.

wonderful description of a wondrous horse. the description of the taming of the horse can only be written by someone who knows horses - it was so stirring and wild. the horse and rider - the young man with the golden curls and the yellow horse - belong together, are incredible as wild creatures in a too controlled world.

I've been immersing myself in chivalric content off on and on in recent years....it's easy to get pulled away into the pop culture vapidness of your peers, social media etc....if only we had a sense of this decorum and grace today.
I'm set to explore the Buddhist monastic path in the fall at Deer Park Monastery and I hope to go deeper with said attributes....it's the closest path one can take to be a modern Jedi...or knight in our modern world.

Genuine question. Why at 5:25 does Nigel strip down to his undergarments to meet the coming knight? I do not understand at all, then chase him down the road half naked. If you understand, please explain.

Chapter thirtypoop was the worst. Even more boring than twentypee where they finally reached the rear end of the Thames and just spent the whole time wandering around the town of Thamesbum.
