No I use shark clips which clip onto the line and don't need stoppers. No i Can't change kontiki direction once it's direction is set. Once it's heading out that's it.
Hey thanks for wstching. I use a stainless carabiner thing. Get them from a hardware shop. Tie your leader to that then hook that onto the back of the predator. One I have also has a threaded locking ring you do up so no way it can come off.
I've found with a big fish or one that's pretty aggressive like sharks they can sometimes slide a bit and you might get 2 or 3 traces bunched. They kind of pinch the line rather than wrapping it. But to me that downside is outweighed by not being restricted where you put your hooks on the line or how far they are spaced.. They typically hang on pretty well.

Im curious about those clips not slipping down the line. They must be strong and wrap the line around the clip.
