I do have plans for one, I've been saying it for a while, hopefully within the next couple months I'll have one done! I want to make it the best POV video you've seen!
The semi “failing to yield”. Sorry man. Hate to Monday night quarterback this but I’ve driven fire trucks and ambulances AND semis. I know the ins and outs. He has no where to go on his right side. All he can do is clear the intersection for you as I would expect Incase you had to make the right there. As for the white ram, take it a little easier coming to an intersection running hot in opposing traffic?? I mean it’s a blind intersections. Lights and sirens or not, you must drive with due regard. Just my opinion. Other than that, cool video.
Okay. The semi could have stopped right where he was at, and I would have been able to go any direction I needed to go, instead of slowly pulling a 53ft+ rig through an intersection. What if I did need to take that right hand turn as he was slowly pulling that rig through the intersection? 2nd, I was taking it pretty easy going through that intersection, I am ALWAYS cautious going into oncoming lanes for this reason specifically. When I switched into oncoming lanes, even though it appeared open, I reduced my speed to approx 25/30 mph in a 35mph zone simply because of the risks of going into oncoming lanes. I very well know this intersection, it was just unfortunate I got caught in backed up traffic and had to take a different route. This is the sole reason I upload these videos. I want to be completely transparent when it comes to my responses. I try my best to not hot rod to calls. My dept policy is only 10mph over posted speed limit. I want the public to know I have them in my best interest. It's the whole reason I'm in public service. If I hurt myself/someone else in the process of trying to help someone, then what good have I done? Lights and sirens are cool and all, but they are only a tool to help me get where I need to go as fast and as safely as possible. I do appreciate the comment and feedback & thanks for watching!
Well for me I'm both a firefighter and truck driver I understand both sides the simi driver was still slowly moving because it's hard to come to a complete stop understandable that the firefighter has right of way but both sides always have two different storys
Keep up the good videos. Wish I could meet you one day and compare POV's. I got a 2004 CVPI w/ a Whelen Edge Light Bar, and running a Whelen 295slsa5 siren and lighting controller. Your Friendly FireFighter from Arkansas, Aydan AKA Leslie 13
Yes and that's one thing the fire instructors always teach is in the fire service always defensive driving it's our job to watch our surroundings we are the dangerous ones on the road responding to calls with lights and sriens and going over the speed limit
I would say that when run lights and siren and are going through intersections hot or going around that veh. in your lane you asking permission to do so and driving with the due regard for the safety of others. As stated also defensive driving. I know a paramedic in Ohio who hit a woman in an intersection. She came along traffic on the blind side lane on the right and her vision was blocked. He went through, she came and was headed for the opposite lane on the right.(far left lane). He broadsided her and pushed her about 120 ft. The squad flipped over and slid a ways. The woman and her unborn fetus died despite the efforts of the crew to save them. He was charged with a felony and misdemeanors. The judge told the jury you find him guilty of a misdemeanor, automatic guilty of felony which they did. Driving with undo regards for safety of other. JAIL...…………….. Went to prison while they appealed the decision. Because now this case set a precedence for others to use. He's out of jail now working but still has this hanging over him. Oh by the way the nature of the call, MVA with multiple injuries with children involved. The result of the accident was one person minor injuries and no kids involved. In my 40+ yrs AF firefighter crash/struct. and Fed civilian, I've seen a lot. U do nothing if u can't get there.
0:50 as a truck driver and a firefighter, I can tell you that driver have you the best outcome possible.
Why do these pov, poverty, travel so far, where I lived, WWE had to be within 2miles oftthe station
Guys fyi that stupid electric horn is useless. Leave the siren on the horn cannot be heard as good

What vehicle do you drive for the responses?
Curious, what is your POV?
The people who disliked this vid were so amazed by it they missed the like button
What kind of siren are you using? I like that. Sounds like my Whelen 295HF100
I believe you are correct!

Can you somehow include a way to see how fast you're driving or something? I think it would be pretty cool to have that :)
