Where did you find your adapter plate? I’m looking for one to put a 2.2 L Toyota diesel in my 87 pick up.
Its a Toyota 3.4/3.0 V6 - Volkswagen TDI adapter. We got it from TDConversions.com. Great guys to deal with. Their headquarters is not too far from us which made it a no-brainer. They are adding new engine and transmission combination adapters to their site all the time. Good luck with the swap!
Well, unfortunately, everybody seems scared to go from a Toyota gas to a Toyota diesel, so I’ll build it myself
Luckily if you are just swapping between Toyota engines, there’s usually a simple bell housing swap to do. Some 80s pickups came with that diesel.
@@alpinefab no unfortunately, even though it is Toyota, the diesel transmission is different than the regular transmission. Even the starter is on the wrong side this truck was from Haiti. And it was a 2 Wheel Dr. but if you had the transmission, you could change it to an 84 transfer case on the tail shaft, unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the transmission was miss placed.
is this a crate engine is so where did you get it? or did you have it built?
This is a salvaged engine from a Passat!
