I am currently in columbus ohio and wanting to find my first home(at age 38, no kids and engaged) for me, my fiance and my pets in a large enough space to have a rescue. I work so hard here in town to barley pay these high utilities and hate our life here. We have no life, no space, its dangerous and I am praying there is a way out for us. I was raised a dairy farmers daughter nearby, but since he only had girls, the land is now rented to other grain farmers and my family won't help me make my dream come true, not to mention all the animal I could give a happy life to. It's a long shot but, is there any way you would help me? ...our dream is to have a little kit house built in a country setting away from all the dangers we face and have some QUIET, happines, a place for me and my lil doggies ..to really live. I owned a beauty salon and lost everything, my home, my income, all the tanning beds, all my salon equipment ....to the economy collapse and we have suffered terrible ever since. I have always worked so hard and have so much love for animals to share that I hate to watch our life pass us by because of lack of funding or having a good place to make a life. Depressed, trapped, laughed at by my rich parents that won't help me... I want to give up trying to make our dreams come true but...I know there are animals that need me, I want to wake up living to save them ...how? Any thoughts would be super appreciated.thanks Kell
Maybe you can post an ad on Craigslist and other media forms stating that you want to live in a tiny home or on a homestead in a little separate building with other people of like mind on one property. Let them know it’s your dream to rescue animals. I’ve heard of plenty of people purchasing property together and each person have their own tiny home on the property. Of course, you have to make sure it’s legal to park on that specific property and also be very careful and make sure no one rips you off. But I feel like there are plenty of people out there who want to do this but just can’t do it alone. But when they work together they can make it happen. Another option is to call around to different sanctuaries like this one and ask if, in exchange for helping with their animals, you can park your home on their property. Laws are different everywhere so if you are ok moving states, look into which states are the most friendly to these actions. I live in Tennessee and I BELIEVE that as long as a tiny home/shed conversion/RV is not on a foundation and it is off grid, then it is legal to park on someone’s property as long as there is already an actual dwelling there. I’ve even seen ads of people having homesteads and wanting to rent out part of it to like minded people. Best wishes!!!
The video is awesome. I am located in Chelsea Iowa and have started a similar program. Can you provide any ideas or suggestions on how to be successful. I already have several abandoned animals. I want to do this as a full time thing and will need a source of income. Please advise with any information you can provide.
Sorry for the lat response!! My main involvement with the sanctuary was creating this video, I'd point you to their website, happytrailfarms . org - Thanks!
This is my dream but I’m curious how you make money off of this? Obviously I don’t want to do it for money but how does the place keep running and care for them?
jadyn coutcher I’m not a vegan myself, but I don’t think there is such a thing as cruelty-free meat, simply because killing is cruel. Of course there are nice free-ranging farms and terrible intensive ones, but killing is cruel. Period.
It’s a shame that places like these aren’t more abundant
Lovely sanctuary❤️
This is amazing, my dream is to open a sanctuary one day I would love to start volunteering soon
same
Great nice farm everybody happy God bless you keep doing🙏❤
My uncle, jason wolboldt, works here

It works entirely on donations, and grants, if they're able to acquire any. And its amazing
If you're ever in the area, they offer tours and go into more detail about everything
Is this still open..in December 2020
Yes it is! Hoid have to get a hold of them for hours if you'd like to visit though
Ty, Ben Sliwa!!
Just got out of work. My response: but of course!! (Ps: the piggie is adorable..I'll have to watch more. I just found this sanctuary this morning 🌅)
its a shame we harm and kill these lovely animals for our greed
Are you guys vegan?
Not all of the workers are, but all follow the practice of preserving the animals we have with no intention to eat them :)
Ben are you vegan?
I don't understand how you could work at a place like this and not be vegan or atleast vegetarian.
trevinia turner you can care for animals and also eat cruelty-free animal products. don’t be weird.
