This was a brilliant video my friend. Really glad to have found your channel. As a West Indian I really respect and appreciate the way you told this story.
Wasim is the greatest non West Indian fast.bowler ever. I loved that Pakistan team. They were amazing. But that West Indian team is the greatest all time

Hey, whoever you are you really are damn bloody good!
With no real footages you have recreated the moments from the actual story and have showcased what is never easy at all - to bring forth every detail including the thoughts and emotions that went inside their minds!
I am sure the great Wasim and Imran and king Richards themselves will be stupefied by such insight into their own psyche!

I lived in Barbados in 1988 and I can tell you we were so scared of losing this match. We all had transistor radios up to our heads with fingers crossed in Bridgetown. It was the stiffest competition any team gave us. To be fair Wasim was right to have a go though. The story is really funny, but Imran was smart to let Wasim sort it out himself. I think Wasim realised that he was so skilful that he let the ball do the sledging. These were the 2 great teams of 80's.

It looks fairytales, such a charismatic guy, the most feared batsman ever. Not sure that lions are seen very often in the jungle! But I get your point.
I remember as a youngster in England when limited over matches were televised every Sunday, being so excited when the county team Somerset was due to play - that meant IVA Richards, coming in at #3.
I watched in awe as he strode to the crease with that characteristic swagger. Took his guard. Played and missed outside the off stump 2 or 3 times, and was out.
But I felt I had got my 'money's worth' in those 10 or so minutes.
Heroes were bigger in those days.
And Viv Richards was a giant.

Being an ardent follower of cricket from 1977 , I've watched so many games and I would shout out from any rooftop that Vivian was the best batsman the world ever had. He didn't have the best techniques like Kallicharan or Gavaskar but then his sheer power, eye sight and attitude, no-one ever had. The bowlers those days were the best cricket ever had. Lille, Jeff Thomson, Pascoe were very fearsome bowlers. Thommo who recorded the fastest ever ball in the history of cricket was also infamous for body line tactics. Vivian faced them all without a head gear in tests, oneday and in county cricket. Something only a super legend can do. Cricket as a sport had it's golden era from 70s to early 2000, people like me no more watch cricket these days as it has become such a boring game with over hyped players and just glitz. Indian cricket was at it's best when Sachin, Sehwag, Ganguly, Dravid et al were around.

Great story, well told. Viv and Imran taught young Wasim an important lesson - you can be aggressive, you can bowl with fire in your belly, but never be disrespectful. Imran's take on it was, you started it, so you have to go out there into the corridor and finish it. If you can't finish it, don't start it. Sounds like Wasim learnt his lesson well. You would not have wanted to pick a fist-fight with Viv - he had a fantastic physique. He was strong as an ox.

People who are writing about Imran Khan. First, Wasim Akram to date gives Imran Khan credit for whatever he has achieved as a bowler. Imran Khan in many interviews has said he did this intentionally to make Wasim face difficulties in life. The same goes with Inzamam. Imran Khan just saw Inzamam in a club match and he announced his name in the world cup. The whole team went against him and he kept saying " ye hume worldcup jeetaeyga" and Inzamam proved himself in the tournament.
As far as his tenure as a Prime minister is concerned not many Indians know. Below are a few points to educate them:
    - Imran refused to live in prime minister house to save money
    - He sold all extra assets in the prime minister's house and give it to a charity
    - Prime Minister's house was made open to public
    - Many chief minister houses in the country were made into universities
    - Health insurance of 5 lacs to every Pakistani
    - He was the only prime minister whose expenses were only 10% of the all prime ministers in the past
    - 5% growth in 2021 where most countries performed badly
    - He did not licked US administration
    - 30% decrease in corruption
    - Build three Mandirs in Pakistan as he believed the place was sacred to Hindus ( purchase land in Islamabad from govt funding for a Mandir)
As a Pakistani, most people in Pakistan are satisfied with his performance its just the bikao media who is spreading a false propaganda

    • @a2349
      @a2349 2 года назад +3

It's mostly just indians in the comments section trying to spread propaganda and disrespecting Pakistani players... Actually Imran tried pretty hard, he's just in a bad situation which locks him down so he couldn't achieve most of what he wanted.

Saw Viv Richards playing for Somerset at Northampton. He swaggered on and started almost quietly, burning the hands of the inner fielders. He knocked the ball around with nonchalance, the scoreboard ticking away to his inevitable century at which point he hit 2 sixes, one each side of the grandstand and into the car park, and declared. The other great batsman of the time was his namesake, Barry Richards of South Africa - two very different styles, the one elegant, the other intimidating power - both supreme masters.
