- Will this be a good high end DIY scan tool? At twice the price of the parts store code readers what can it do that they can't? These are some of the questions I will try to answer while giving you a good look at what you can do with this tool in the event that you are thinking of pulling the trigger and picking up one yourself.

I got this but mines the MX808S, so think is just bit newer than your model? am not sure, but worth the money for what you pay. I wasn't going to go pay $8000 for a top scan tool just payed $600 Australian dollars and it does the job. Good review Joseph.

Can you check injector balance rates for diesel pickups?
I have been trying to find a good tablet style diagnostic tool for diy work. I don’t want something to break the bank so under $500
Anyway I’ve seen some comments of others who have to scan tool, and they say after about a year Autel forced some sort of update on them for over $1,000 and it made the tool useless
What are your thoughts on this
i have not run in to that issue, but I have found that on the newer FCA cars it does not have the security clearance to talk to the vehicle at all. Bear in mind the scan tool is newer than these vehicles, and even at my full time job in a shop some of the newer vehicles require a special security clearance to talk to some of these new cars.
Does it have the security feature like door ajar? Thank you
I think that would depend on the vehicle, and the body control module. You may be able to see which door is ajar in the live data for the BCM. It will not program Ford PassLock keys.

It sould, it does have the capability for Mercedes, but I have not pugged in to one with it so I do not know how well supported the data is. I know the Autell that we have at the shop I work for will do a lot with Mercedes, but it is also a $4500 scanner.
You can use the power balance function this tool has to narrow down a missfire on Fords. I have this same scan tool.
Also, you can do generic OBD2 to monitor missfires.Mode 6 if I remember correctly?
When doing live data mine doesn’t show the range column, do you know why?
That I’m not sure, may be in the settings. If it shows the units, just not a value, it may be that it is just taking too long to update. As I scroll down through the data I find I often have to wait for the actual data numbers to fill in. This scanner seems to take a longer to update the live data than it’s big brother that we use at the shop where I work. Autell scanners have there positive points and things they do really well, but when it comes to loading data SnapOn scanners have them beat on speed. But at that point you are talking about $4k-$6k scanners.
Will this tuen on and off shift selonoids ? And test the evap system
I have not tried to use it for that, but I doubt it. Unfortunately they claim bi directional control, but I have so far not found that to be the case. it does a good job of reading and clearing codes, and shows good reliable live data, but some newer vehicles especially FCA vehicles it does not have the security access to talk to. I hope this helps you out to some degree even though it does not actually answer your question. Hopefully I can make a little more in depth video with it in the near future.

Will it program keys?
I was able to program my 2016 jeep compass with it. I plan on testing my 2023 corolla tomorrow with it. Im in the middle of updating my scan tool beings its been over a year since I updated it. I will let you know my results :)

Is it bi-directional?
It says it is, but I have not found any true bi-directional functions yet on the few vehicles I have used it on.

It should work on a 1 ton or smaller truck. I have used it on my 2000 F-350 with the 7.3.
