Have you thought how to make it work to be raised from both sides? I think i will use hinges on both sides, just the hinge will be mounted to the panel with one "hand" bolt

Hi martgryfny, thank you for watching and posting a question. While it would be great to be able to lift the panels from both sides, it presents other challenges when it comes to fixing down the panel hence only using one set of hinges. I decided it would be Easton just turn the van around. I'd be keen to see how you get on, please keep me updated on your progress.

when you raise your solar panel how are you keeping it up?

I will be using a piece of box section with a hole to allow for the wingnut bolt to screw through into the solar panel at the top and adding a rivet nut at the bottom so as to do the same against the brackets which hold the panel down when flat. I still need to make this strut.
