Here's a thrift haul from some picking on a random Wednesday afternoon! I scored at Goodwill, a local charity shop and a yard sale! I hope you get inspired watching me transform one of my favorite thrift finds of the day! Make sure you tick the notification bell to on my friends! Lots of love!! -Elizabeth
I have also found little Bible learning things. I used to collect Noah’s ark pictures and toys or craft things. We spent fifty years collecting and changing from one thing and then another.
I like to watch you in your young years doing what we did My husband travel on his job so I went with him a lot and hit the antique shops. Love those rosettes. Looks like you shop on a budget like we did but had lots of fun. Like your house. We never got the old house we wanted.
Idea: You can use 2 of the wooden Rosettes, to make a long , narrow drawer, and just nail some wood on the sides and the bottom. You could use an antique, glass door knob on it end of it. ❤️

We decorate for All Saints Day and All Souls Day, so just no witch craft stuff, but Fall and all isn't so bad for us! It is the end of the traditional Christian Calendar too! Technically Christmas fell on pagan winter solstice rituals so it's just how you look at things! We give out candy in our neighborhood and just have fun and we are still trying for baby #1, so it's just nice to enjoy the weather and season!!
I am the same way with I decorate until Christmas is over. I can’t leave it alone and decorating is also my therapy

Hi Elizabeth ~ Oh my goodness, can’t pick a favorite! First it was the Mirror you did, then it was the pillow covers, then it was the wicker/metal cloche top…..then oh my THE BUCKET OF ARCHITECTURAL PIECES!!!! Oh how I love those! What a deal .
I used to wait to decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving for years. Then last year I got new garlands, wreaths and picks that are the “Real Touch Norfolk Pine”…. I decorated the 1st of November and left it up until the end of February. Living in snow country I considered it “winter decor”. We don’t have anyone for Thanksgiving,just my husband and I , so I decided I’m going to take my time and decorate the beginning of November. The pine, velvet ribbons, old brass bells and many Nativity sets. I didn’t even have a Christmas Tree up. YUP… it took a lot of SELF THERAPY to get through it…… but only our oldest daughter, her husband and daughters come late on Christmas night.
It actually felt better emotionally to have it that long, I totally enjoyed it all! This house is big and was always full of family for every Holiday,but after both parents died 19 1/2 years ago, everyone does their own thing ….yes I have cried through many Holidays missing family. But last year was good. It felt or I have accepted the new “normal” I guess!

Jayne - I loved your comment - I don’t have much family left, either - it doesn’t seem that long ago that I would have to squeeze in extra chairs at the table for Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners, but those days, sadly, are gone - I really don’t do a lot of seasonal decorating any longer - just mostly the dining room for my now small holiday dinners - years ago I made a family photo gallery in the dining room, though, so it is nice to look at the pictures from holiday dinners past and to feel that loved ones are still there - I’m fixing to make myself start crying now - lol - blessings & happy holidays to you from sunny Central Florida ! 🙏🥰
Maybe you could share the independently owned thrift stores in our area 🤔 I love and try to shop at smaller local stores its helpful in so many ways and I'm sure the stores would greatly appreciate it also 😊

I’m thinkin maybe your round velvet pillow could be used as a pumpkin by adding a real stem to it and nestled with other pumpkins around the fireplace(?) It kinda has that oversized squished real pumpkin look you see around...but don’t glue the stem on so you can still use it as a pillow, maybe double stick tape(?)
I must say you have a lovely, cozy home. I remember when I was your age it was all about decorating for the holidays and seasons, however now in my older years it is not easy for me to decorate like I would love too.

I also do not decorate for Halloween...this year I made an exception for a happy Jack-o-lantern & a smiling dog skeleton. I didn't feel any evil from these but I absolutely agree with not allowing evil into your home. The devil can take it & run with it!

If you have some aerosol hairspray, spray some on the wheat wreath, to stop it from shedding all over. It may need to be repeated each year. Don't get to close, when you spray it. Don't over spray, until it looks wet. "A little dab will do ya"!!😁

I just went to this adorable shop it’s like an antique thrift store super cute!! She had her vintage books at $18 dollars 😅I was like oh no that can stay here!! Ended up getting a hold pile of them for free at a onother shop just down the road!! So ya the some people know the style and some don’t!! Love your haul!!

We do fall only. Lets say from when school starts till Oct 31. Nov 1st I start dragging out all my Christmas decor. I love it and want more then a month with it. I started copper and cream last year so it makes it easier to go from fall to Christmas. I love the rich copper color. I can't wait to get started. You have a beautiful home. I love thrifting and getting new to me decor!

Well, you have a new subscriber here. I don’t celebrate Halloween either and for exactly the reasons you mentioned. It’s nothing to play with and the decorations you see in the stores make it seem cute and harmless. But, to each his own. I just don’t do it.
