it is explained in the manga extra that Senchi's mind didn't change after the changelings. So I think Senchi is just delicate (he does lay down like a french lady in some episodes, never care about weapons or ores) but thanks of his dwarf body he does heavy stuff and didn't care.
@@piput8533 it wont say it in the anime but in the adventure's bible senshi's dairy says he was being teased and didn't think he was acting any differently than normal. he was going to call them out for racial prejudice but realized that he had said the same kind of stuff about marcille in the past and decided he'd never judge her based on how she acted again.

I found it interesting in how they managed to justify the fantasy stereotypes (Human Fighter, Halfling Rogue, etc.) and why those races tend to take certain fantasy archetypes due to their unique physiology.
I was really hoping s1 would make it to chapter 55, but it looks like we will finish on ch52... It's not a bad place to stop, but I wish we had one episode more :(
A thing this episode missed that I’m remember the manga showed better is Laios realising the griffin was a hippogryph that was changed by the changling mushrooms. In the manga he mentioned that it was weird that it attacked the familiar by kicking like a horse
In the previous story, Marsil said that he had never heard of a griffin appearing in this labyrinth. It would have been strange for a griffin to have made it into a labyrinth in the first place.
@@CardinalSpiritone of DM anime adaptation problem is, they kinda make expositions minimum (cut and removed). I feel Trigger should make omakes or extra to explain stuffs (like Demon Slayer)
I get the joke is that Laios doesn’t understand why Senshi wouldn’t want to know because he doesn’t understand people, but this was such a big gamble that I feel someone should have stopped him.
Nah, Laois was absolutely right. This has clearly eaten at Senshi for years. He'd never be able to accept what happened without confronting this question.
No, he absolutely understood the issue. He tried to reassure him that circumstances and spice could have also changed the taste when they think the hippogriff also tasted differently. That's also why he is asking questions about the horse. He is trying to figure out, if they could have mistaken another monster for it. Finally, he asked Senshi if he wanted to find out the very first. He understands that some people would want to have the clarity and some wouldn't want to.

It's a great episode with superb drama and cool hijinks, sadly for me it did lack some of the emotional impact the manga had for the first half, but still not a bad episode. Can't wait to hear about season 2 tho, hope it comes soon... Oh god, is it Thursday yet?

I think we're seeing Senshi's elf form from Laios' perspective, so his "pretty-ness" is extra exaggerated.

It seems appropriate that in an anime about cooking monsters, Elf-Senshi is EATING and SLAYING.
