I hope you would do a Danzo Shimura video too. He was a well written character because he was flawed. He and Tobirama are some of the characters I have come to appreciate over time
I remember thinking that Naruto's situation really pulled on my heart strings but Gara destroyed me. I remember sobbing because of how deep experience went with me.
I can’t remember if it was in the manga or in one of the episodes of the final season, Gaara’s ultimate dream was to be a child again and to have Naruto as a best friend. Like... that’s just so soft and adorable. I love it!
The flashback was sad to me because it's such a happy scene, but then we remember what his actual childhood was. Also reminds me of how much darker Naruto Part 1 was compared to Shippuden
Honestly, I think that part 2 had just as many dark themes as part 1, but in part 2 we got to see everything resolved, or the dark villain backstories didn't matter as much, because the villains either died villains or were killed very quickly after being redeemed. Satori and Nagato have just as messed up backstories as Gaara and Naruto, but Satori never gets redeemed, and Nagato dies immediately after bringing everyone back to life. Part 2 just seems less dark because things go left unresolved in part 1.
Naruto should have dropped Sasuke completely and focused on strengthening his friendship with Gaara instead. Because honestly I feel that Gaara has done more for Naruto emotionally in the few scenes they shared together than Sasuke ever did as Naruto’s teammate.

From up until Naruto knows about Gaara background, he didn't expect to find anyone like him (Anyone with bad background and being mistreated because they are vessels of tailed beast). His encounter with Gaara contribute to Naruto own development. Remember in his battle against Gaara, when both is exhausted, Naruto felt Gaara pain about being hated and treated like a monster since childhood. But he points that but by now, he have people that he love and will desperately protect because they help him to get out from that darkness. It contribute to Gaara own development where he realize that he was too fast to give up on the others.
I remember watching Gaara's dream during the infinite tsukuymoi and thinking to myself "damn all Gaara wants is a normal life with his family and friends"
This is something I learned while serving in the military. You will be surprised how much of a difference it makes when you show someone who feels lost that you genuinely care for them

I have never been a Naruto fan. That being said, Gaara's story always touched me (I'm a sucker for a redemption story). One of the most moving moments is when he faces his father, and finds out that his uncle and his mother loved him afterall, and that his mother had been shielding him all this time via the sand.... that made me tear up (Garra himself crying didn't help matters). Then, for him to have the emotional maturity to forgive his father, and even come to understand his position to an extent.... I'm gonna go cry now.....
@Sasuke is easily the best character in the series then who are your top 5? Because I agree with Sasuke and Gaara and then obviously Naruto but the other two are a little more difficult to decide. Maybe pain, obito or madara. As for the female characters, the only ones with good character development were Sakura and Tsunade, the others unfortunately weren't as explored (even if I like Konan) I'd love to hear your opinion

I assume that many have said it but I may be called selfish to reveal my feelings of their statements, the same one I will say, but the same one that only I mean when I say- Many of the videos you've made hit me in the hardest and deepest manner because of how close I can relate, almost in every literal way, without the fiction involved from the stories you pull your lessons from. Funny, because even before Gaara, we had that in Zabuza. An enemy of the Leaf, who wanted nothing but to kill Team 7 and the Bridge Builder, and then find out he was a man who himself loved and felt pain. A man who used Haku, a boy who wanted nothing hut to be respected by Zabuza, and came to find out that he loved him and felt pain after Haku’s death. That story was supposed to prepare us for Gaara, and just didn’t know it.

Gaara's story is such a great example of turning rage into love. It's so easy to be angry at the world and let hate blind you from the endless possibilities life can give you. But it's love that gives us courage, it's love that lets us accept both the good and bad in everyone. It's love that teachs us to be patient and loyal. Gaara is love. He grew to love Naruto like a brother. His journey is the reason why he's my favorite character in the show. He's also the reason why Liam O'Brien is one of my favorite actors. ❤
Sasuke is easily the best character in the series Gaara didn’t really do much during shippuden compared to part 1 and even his fight during the war were kinda just meh. Gaara use to be the ultimate trump card, when he appeared on screen in part 1 there was a sense of power and as the viewer you knew that someone was going to die and that there would be an epic moment once Gaara arrived. But in shippuden that feeling isn’t there anymore, he’s a background character and even his first fight in shippuden with diedara was underwhelming because up until that point in the series we as viewers never saw Gaara loose a fight to anyone except naruto and of course he would lose to naruto because naruto is the main character. After his arc with deidara the character fell off and became a lot less important, and he also lost a pretty big chunk of power once shukaku was gone. He didn’t even appear again until the five kage summit which is when the series reached its mid way point and the next time he appeared was the end of the series during the war arc. Gaara could’ve done a lot more but he got wasted along with all the other characters that played a role in part one but then they got shafted in shippuden once the show turned into the “naruto and sasuke show” because literally everyone who was hyped up in part 1 became a complete side character in shippuden. Even kakashi got no love until the the war arc, and he’s narutos sensei for crying out loud.
If I were to define love even more, I'd say love is knowing a person inside and out, seeing all the bad in them, yet choosing to accept them anyway, as u see more GOOD in them than bad. Even on days when they act completely terrible u still love them and want to help them, u want to see them move past their down moments and rise to new heights they never thought they could. When u love someone u want the best for them, and are willing to suffer through every low moment and every time they say they don't want u around, but u ignore it, and continue to be there for them and support them.
Rasa was the sole reason gaara was like this. He put the monster in his son and then when his wife died, it was suddenly gaara's fault and basically brushed him aside all because he wanted power, I dont blame gaara for becoming a merciless killer, he was still a child who lost and hated everyone because he was hated by everyone.
This character means a lot to me. As a kid I felt like i related to his feelings of loneliness and I don’t think I realized it at the time but I latched onto gaara because I felt like I understood. Seeing him finally be loved felt so liberating. Thank you for making this beautiful video.
Talk about emotional. Gaara of the Sand's story is one riddled with hatred, loneliness, internal struggling, willpower, incredible dialogue and most of all, love. It always struck me that the kanji for "love" was on his forehead even when he felt himself incapable of it. This makes it all too clear that next to people like Naruto, Hinata, Sasuke, Shikamaru and Neji, Gaara has been and always will be one of my favorite characters in the show.
Only one thing can heal a wounded heart and that is love. Garage of the sand was my favorite character who's upbringing really caught my attention because of his pain he was able to know true happines.
If you think about it haku taught Naruto the most important lesson: “When a person has something important they want to protect, that's when they can become truly strong." Naruto and gaara’s fight showed this. He wanted to protect his friends (Sasuke and Sakura) whom were important to him that’s how he became strong enough to beat gaara.
Naruto and Gaara seem to be the same at first, but their experiences show the effect real love can have on a person. The confrontation with his father only further refined his loving nature. Now Gaara is so easily able to pass on the love that he received to others because of one loving act from Naruto - a true friend

gaara was the first ever character that I fixated on, he holds a very special place in my heart he also feels like a better sasuke almost. both in terms of character and his relationship with naruto. of course the two characters fate and purpose are different, so I can't really compare them like that. I just never felt like Sasuke was worth narutos devotion when he spent the fast majority of the series kinda just being an immature little brat who just wanted to destroy things that made him upset, or things that he felt should receive punishment. instead of living in the village, healing from his past and trying to make good out of himself, he just blindly went after his brother. I won't say that what he did was stupid, because I haven't had my entire family slaughtered by my sibling, I just really don't agree with sasukes decisions. I also see revenge and hate as useless so that's another reason why I dislike him so much this was suppose to be about why I like gaaras but I already forgot what I was gonna say so have a sasuke rant lmao
7:08 Lady Chiyo was also the one that sealed Shukaku into Gaara when he was born. So, I guess it's kind of justice that Chiyo gave Gaara a second chance at life because she tried to kill Kakashi because he mistaken him for his father who killed his son and daughter-in-law and left her grandson, Sasori an orphan.
Seeing kid Gaara cry reminds me of a quote from Hellsing about the character Alucard. "All that remains is a pale shadow, wandering from battle to battle. I have come to believe, that those frightening immortals are, in fact, frail, sobbing children.” I think OP characters like Alucard, Toguro, and Gaara are just like that- behind the murderous persona and dangerous powers/abilities is a frail, broken, sobbing child who just wants the pain to stop, and they hide that side of themselves because it hurts too much to be vulnerable. The only to reach someone like that IS to defeat them in battle, because it forces to reconsider their worldview.
i’m about to cry in the middle of the college dining hall. i have a white hat with the 愛 kanji on it, and i wear this hat everyday as a reminder of the story of gaara, and who i want to be.
Gaara is just like Kaguya Otsutsuki, the same people that experience betrayal from the same person that started loving them and then betray them after finding out who they are.
For the longest time I related to Naruto but until I met Gaara then it was completely clear I related to Gaara the most (Except the bloodlust and murderous rage).
Gaara was born to be loved. By his family. By his mother. By his sibglings. By his best friend. By the village. Not to be alone. He is one of those character that I'm glad he changed for the better.
I don't know why, but I can relate with garaa so much about the topic of hatred but in a different way. Ever since I was young I would always hate everything and everyone for no reason, it would feel like my head would explode from the though or urge of killing someone or anything at all. I just wanted to see everything around me dead. Idk know if I have a mental illness or something to be honest but to this day I still have this feeling.

I swear you guys don't actually know what the word "wasted" means. Gaara had very important roles all throughout Shippuuden and he did his job well.

Rasa was the sole reason gaara was like this. He put the monster in his son and then when his wife died, it was suddenly gaara's fault and basically brushed him aside all because he wanted power, I dont blame gaara for becoming a merciless killer, he was still a child who lost and hated everyone because he was hated by everyone.
This character means a lot to me. As a kid I felt like i related to his feelings of loneliness and I don’t think I realized it at the time but I latched onto gaara because I felt like I understood. Seeing him finally be loved felt so liberating. Thank you for making this beautiful video.
Talk about emotional. Gaara of the Sand's story is one riddled with hatred, loneliness, internal struggling, willpower, incredible dialogue and most of all, love. It always struck me that the kanji for "love" was on his forehead even when he felt himself incapable of it. This makes it all too clear that next to people like Naruto, Hinata, Sasuke, Shikamaru and Neji, Gaara has been and always will be one of my favorite characters in the show.
Only one thing can heal a wounded heart and that is love.
Garage of the sand was my favorite character who's upbringing really caught my attention because of his pain he was able to know true happines.

Naruto and gaara’s fight showed this. He wanted to protect his friends (Sasuke and Sakura) whom were important to him that’s how he became strong enough to beat gaara.

Now Gaara is so easily able to pass on the love that he received to others because of one loving act from Naruto - a true friend

gaara was the first ever character that I fixated on, he holds a very special place in my heart
he also feels like a better sasuke almost. both in terms of character and his relationship with naruto. of course the two characters fate and purpose are different, so I can't really compare them like that. I just never felt like Sasuke was worth narutos devotion when he spent the fast majority of the series kinda just being an immature little brat who just wanted to destroy things that made him upset, or things that he felt should receive punishment. instead of living in the village, healing from his past and trying to make good out of himself, he just blindly went after his brother. I won't say that what he did was stupid, because I haven't had my entire family slaughtered by my sibling, I just really don't agree with sasukes decisions. I also see revenge and hate as useless so that's another reason why I dislike him so much

7:08 Lady Chiyo was also the one that sealed Shukaku into Gaara when he was born. So, I guess it's kind of justice that Chiyo gave Gaara a second chance at life because she tried to kill Kakashi because he mistaken him for his father who killed his son and daughter-in-law and left her grandson, Sasori an orphan.
Seeing kid Gaara cry reminds me of a quote from Hellsing about the character Alucard.
"All that remains is a pale shadow, wandering from battle to battle. I have come to believe,
that those frightening immortals are, in fact, frail, sobbing children.”
I think OP characters like Alucard, Toguro, and Gaara are just like that- behind the murderous persona and dangerous powers/abilities is a frail, broken, sobbing child who just wants the pain to stop, and they hide that side of themselves because it hurts too much to be vulnerable. The only to reach someone like that IS to defeat them in battle, because it forces to reconsider their worldview.

I don't know why, but I can relate with garaa so much about the topic of hatred but in a different way. Ever since I was young I would always hate everything and everyone for no reason, it would feel like my head would explode from the though or urge of killing someone or anything at all. I just wanted to see everything around me dead. Idk know if I have a mental illness or something to be honest but to this day I still have this feeling.
