The Others 4K looked great and that was SDR (see review on my channel), but with that release the overseas version also had no HDR. I'm a little bugged about these 2 criterion releases... I think I will end up getting godzilla though

I was just wondering about Funny Girl the other day! Glad it's coming to 4K. It's a good movie. One of Streisand's better known movies. If you're gonna watch just one Streisand movie, I think this is the one to watch. I'd also recommend What's Up, Doc?, Yentl and Prince of Tides. All great movies with Streisand in it and/or directing.

Us is one of my favorite films, will be interested to see if it's a new transfer. Hoping Drive is improved over the Second Sight one. I pre-ordered the new Sony, a double dip for me.
I watched Us, yesterday. I think the color, contrast, clarity and sound are already so good that we probably won't see any changes. I think they're just releasing the double feature for another profit run. It kind of stinks, because I just received the Us 4K Steelbook only a couple of days before seeing the double feature 🫣 Still trying to decide if I want to double purchase and get the double feature. Well, I know I "want" it...but I just upgraded to a Sony laser projector, bought ton of steelbooks, preordered a bunch, needed a rug, floor lamps etc. So I'm trying my best not to spend anymore, but these movie releases are making it tough...

I'm excited about We Were Soldiers, but the sound surely needed an upgrade. Friday Night Lights is one of my favorite films and it's a day one order. If ever been under the Friday night lights, or coach any sports this one always hits home.

I’m hoping that Dark Crystal Age of Resistance arrives on 4K Ultra Hd, or at least on Blu-ray, that Netflix allows it to release But I am excited for Godzilla on 4K from Criterion, I am considering getting Seven Samurai on 4K from Criterion. My wife made me watch Paper Moon. I had never seen it either, and I always thought it was some weird black and white movie that I wouldn't like. It's actually really good, there's a little bit of action and comedy. It's actually a true father daughter movie. The father is really the father of the daughter in real life and in the movie. It's good and I think everyone should watch it at least once.
I'm looking forward to Sudden Death on 4K. With the news of the Nextflix exclusives being permitted to have a physical media release, I'm hoping that Jean-Claude Van Damme's Nextflix exclusive The Last Mercenary and the Wham! documentary will have a 4K release also. I've seen The Last Mercenary an it's brilliant. What surprised me about The Last Mercenary is that the film was filmed in French and Van Damme used his own voice to dub into English.

We were soldiers, shape of water, seven samurai. When a new release of a previously released film comes out, I like when you let us know that it's the exact same transfer as before to let us know whether or not to double dip. It's also great when it is a new transfer and an upgrade, and you do the comparisons. That's been super helpful in knowing which one to buy. Thanks for all your hard work.

I preordered Friday Nights lights cause I like almost all sports movies. I also preordered Gladiator, it just a cool steel-book and Italy is somewhere I want to go to in the future. Strange New Worlds is definitely the better series, and I completely agree with you about Discovery, but I really enjoyed the first two series, but then it just started jumping all over the place with their storytelling.

I'm getting Drive and Sudden Death on Tuesday. I hope the Drive steelbook doesn't come in damaged though because Amazon has some crappy packaging and don't want to put steelbooks in a box. I got The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 4K steelbook in the mail on Sunday and watched it. I got The Mexico Trilogy set in the mail about a week or so ago.
Would love individual Godzilla releases from Criterion, all with the old English dubs as its what was our pop-cultural experience growing up here. I held off on the old set partly because some didn't have them, plus the packaging. I want to get this new Godzilla upgrade, but I hope it ends up in a regular plastic case like Night of the Living Dead did, instead of another digipack.

Funny Girl is great. Barbra Streisand gives a well deserved Academy Award winning Performance. This is already available in Native 4K on iTunes Movies but it doesn't have Dolby Vision and its only 5.0 Mix. Not a 5.1. This is obviously a New Transfer as the one online is Very Grainy and doesn't look 4K.
It is cool to see some of those Best Buy exclusive steelbooks getting reissued. One I hope for is the Pulp Fiction steelbook. I don't think we even had the Best Buy stores in Canada get that steelbook. It would be nice to have that one as a limited reprint. I'm also looking forward to the news in the near future of the preorders of 1986's "Trick or Treat" which is being restored by Red Shirt Pictures and released by Synapse Films. In interviews they mentioned that they are hope to release it for this Halloween. It is supposed to have the 4K disc, Blu-ray, and the original soundtrack CD by the band "Fastway". I can't wait for that one. I have been waiting for years for all the legal red tape to get cleared away and finally have a North American official release of this horror classic.

Amazing you have never seen Funny Girl. Barbara Streisand won an Oscar for this. It has great songs and should look fantastic as is licensed by Sony. Surprised this was not in their Columbia Classics sets. Highly recommended. So happy such a great film is coming to 4K. We need more SONY, how about the sequel Funny Lady, also very good.

@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I think I'm going to get the BFI Seven Samurai, and I'm wondering if there is also an import of Godzilla with some form of HDR. The Others 4K looked great and that was SDR (see review on my channel), but with that release the overseas version also had no HDR. I'm a little bugged about these 2 criterion releases... I think I will end up getting godzilla though

So I just live with the pain, though I really don’t want you to think I’m complaining because I feel blessed every day & through the pain God has taught me a whole lot & I have learned to have more compassion while learning to live daily with severe chronic pain!!😘

I was just wondering about Funny Girl the other day! Glad it's coming to 4K. It's a good movie. One of Streisand's better known movies. If you're gonna watch just one Streisand movie, I think this is the one to watch. I'd also recommend What's Up, Doc?, Yentl and Prince of Tides. All great movies with Streisand in it and/or directing.

I watched Us, yesterday. I think the color, contrast, clarity and sound are already so good that we probably won't see any changes. I think they're just releasing the double feature for another profit run. It kind of stinks, because I just received the Us 4K Steelbook only a couple of days before seeing the double feature 🫣
Still trying to decide if I want to double purchase and get the double feature. Well, I know I "want" it...but I just upgraded to a Sony laser projector, bought ton of steelbooks, preordered a bunch, needed a rug, floor lamps etc. So I'm trying my best not to spend anymore, but these movie releases are making it tough...

I'm excited about We Were Soldiers, but the sound surely needed an upgrade. Friday Night Lights is one of my favorite films and it's a day one order. If ever been under the Friday night lights, or coach any sports this one always hits home.

It was an amazing experience. Watching Hal Moore and Joe Galloway interact with cast and crew is one of the highlights of my career.
I’m hoping that Dark Crystal Age of Resistance arrives on 4K Ultra Hd, or at least on Blu-ray, that Netflix allows it to release
But I am excited for Godzilla on 4K from Criterion, I am considering getting Seven Samurai on 4K from Criterion. Also am thinking about The Wizard of Oz 85th anniversary box set, I haven’t upgraded to 4K Ultra HD yet from my DVD in 1999, maybe this will be it

My wife made me watch Paper Moon. I had never seen it either, and I always thought it was some weird black and white movie that I wouldn't like. It's actually really good, there's a little bit of action and comedy. It's actually a true father daughter movie. The father is really the father of the daughter in real life and in the movie. It's good and I think everyone should watch it at least once.

I'm looking forward to Sudden Death on 4K. With the news of the Nextflix exclusives being permitted to have a physical media release, I'm hoping that Jean-Claude Van Damme's Nextflix exclusive The Last Mercenary and the Wham! documentary will have a 4K release also. I've seen The Last Mercenary an it's brilliant. What surprised me about The Last Mercenary is that the film was filmed in French and Van Damme used his own voice to dub into English.

We were soldiers, shape of water, seven samurai. When a new release of a previously released film comes out, I like when you let us know that it's the exact same transfer as before to let us know whether or not to double dip. It's also great when it is a new transfer and an upgrade, and you do the comparisons. That's been super helpful in knowing which one to buy. Thanks for all your hard work.

I preordered Friday Nights lights cause I like almost all sports movies. I also preordered Gladiator, it just a cool steel-book and Italy is somewhere I want to go to in the future. More War movies needs to come out on 4K and or Blu-ray. I just can’t wait until Disney/Sony releases their stuff on physical media again, (I’m just waiting, waiting, waiting).

Strange New Worlds is definitely the better series, and I completely agree with you about Discovery, but I really enjoyed the first two series, but then it just started jumping all over the place with their storytelling.

I'm getting Drive and Sudden Death on Tuesday. I hope the Drive steelbook doesn't come in damaged though because Amazon has some crappy packaging and don't want to put steelbooks in a box. I got The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 4K steelbook in the mail on Sunday and watched it. I got The Mexico Trilogy set in the mail about a week or so ago.

Would love individual Godzilla releases from Criterion, all with the old English dubs as its what was our pop-cultural experience growing up here. I held off on the old set partly because some didn't have them, plus the packaging. I want to get this new Godzilla upgrade, but I hope it ends up in a regular plastic case like Night of the Living Dead did, instead of another digipack.

Funny Girl is great. Barbra Streisand gives a well deserved Academy Award winning Performance. This is already available in Native 4K on iTunes Movies but it doesn't have Dolby Vision and its only 5.0 Mix. Not a 5.1. This is obviously a New Transfer as the one online is Very Grainy and doesn't look 4K.
It is cool to see some of those Best Buy exclusive steelbooks getting reissued. One I hope for is the Pulp Fiction steelbook. I don't think we even had the Best Buy stores in Canada get that steelbook. It would be nice to have that one as a limited reprint. I'm also looking forward to the news in the near future of the preorders of 1986's "Trick or Treat" which is being restored by Red Shirt Pictures and released by Synapse Films. In interviews they mentioned that they are hope to release it for this Halloween. It is supposed to have the 4K disc, Blu-ray, and the original soundtrack CD by the band "Fastway". I can't wait for that one. I have been waiting for years for all the legal red tape to get cleared away and finally have a North American official release of this horror classic.

Amazing you have never seen Funny Girl. Barbara Streisand won an Oscar for this. It has great songs and should look fantastic as is licensed by Sony. Surprised this was not in their Columbia Classics sets. Highly recommended. So happy such a great film is coming to 4K. We need more SONY, how about the sequel Funny Lady, also very good.

I had already ordered Desperado and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes steelbooks. Definitely need to pick up Godzilla and Seven Samurai. I've gone back and forth on ordering the Godzilla Showa Era boxset, now I'm thinking $130 for all those movies isn't that bad. Haven't seen Godzilla Minus 1 steelbook come into stock yet.
