Fabulous experience, sitting here in India of the Nordic vibe, landscape, snow, Christmas, celebrations, Annika connects more to Finland, it seems, she has taken to Finland as a fish takes to water, it's in her genes of course.Just loved the Christmas atmosphere, theme park, food, lamps and lanterns, everything seemed to come straight out of the Ladybird fairytale books with their medieval fairytale vibes. Finland, you are dark and Sombre, and Beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed and yes Annika quite loves it here too! I dont think it’s necessarily about the connection but she was struggling for quite a while with the heat and humidity and some difficult stages in her development 😊

This video was a real treat!! I just love the market and Doghill Park. I love how the Finnish people embrace the winter and will still go out and walk around and enjoy all the sights. I used to spend outside a lot in the winter when my boys were little, but now, I'm not a fan of the winter. Maybe that will change one day if I become a grandma. Your mother is amazing Johanna. I love the holiday spirit in Europe be it during Easter or Christmas time. Even though nearly 70-80% of Czechs are atheists, it does not stop them from celebrating the togetherness of the season with loads of local food and drinks. I know many colleagues and friends who are like that. I love Christmas markets in general and can't wait to visit this in Finland and I also liked the concept of celebrating local fairy tale through building parks where people can walk and introduce them to their kids. It is good way of involving kids into the culture and also to begin the reading habit. I feel Europeans are sport crazy people, I keep telling this to my husband whenever I see people jogging in winter (I saw somebody jogging in this video :-) ). Which is your favorite winter sport? I love watching biathlon and until a year ago Finnish's Kaisa Makarainen was doing very well, she was the best in skiing and not necessarily the shooting but have won so many medals. Before you ask me, I am do not do sports at all, but watch a lot of them on television :-) (snooker, golf, biathlon, tennis). During my school days I used play kho kho and badminton and that's about it. I read a lot though and have started routine workouts to make sure I will get not sick since I have already crossed 40. :-) I am loving your Finnish episodes and happy for you that you are enjoying quality time with your family :-)

I’m very happy to finally be in Finland and sharing my country with people 🥰 we’re also very unreligious in Finland, Christmas is more like a cultural celebration for many people i think. We’re also atheists, but Christmas is still a very important family holiday for me 🥰 and on that note, yes sports are extremely important for all us Finns too! I used to follow pretty much all sports enthusiastically, even wanted to be a sports journalist. But i follow very less now in India. 😕 my favourite sport to watch is ice hockey and i really miss winter sports watching in India! But these days i guess i have more time for DOING sports 😅

I remember in my 8th grade there was a story about snowy Christmas night in E gkusg text book. I did get the feeling of the story till I came to states and saw how cold it is. I love the holiday spirit in Europe be it during Easter or Christmas time. Even though nearly 70-80% of Czechs are atheists, it does not stop them from celebrating the togetherness of the season with loads of local food and drinks. I know many colleagues and friends who are like that. I love Christmas markets in general and can't wait to visit this in Finland and I also liked the concept of celebrating local fairy tale through building parks where people can walk and introduce them to their kids. It is good way of involving kids into the culture and also to begin the reading habit. I feel Europeans are sport crazy people, I keep telling this to my husband whenever I see people jogging in winter (I saw somebody jogging in this video :-) ). Which is your favorite winter sport? I love watching biathlon and until a year ago Finnish's Kaisa Makarainen was doing very well, she was the best in skiing and not necessarily the shooting but have won so many medals. Before you ask me, I am do not do sports at all, but watch a lot of them on television :-) (snooker, golf, biathlon, tennis). During my school days I used play kho kho and badminton and that's about it. I read a lot though and have started routine workouts to make sure I will get not sick since I have already crossed 40. :-)

I’m so glad you’re enjoying these videos! I’m very happy to finally be in Finland and sharing my country with people 🥰 we’re also very unreligious in Finland, Christmas is more like a cultural celebration for many people i think. We’re also atheists, but Christmas is still a very important family holiday for me 🥰 and on that note, yes sports are extremely important for all us Finns too! I used to follow pretty much all sports enthusiastically, even wanted to be a sports journalist. But i follow very less now in India. 😕 my favourite sport to watch is ice hockey and i really miss winter sports watching in India! But these days i guess i have more time for DOING sports 😅

@@JohannaNorth : Yeah, you couldn't get me to try offal (like liver, brain, tongue, kidneys, etc.) and blood sausage/pudding either, although I recall having a delightful southern Indian "kuruma" in Kerala made with goat intestines back in the 90s.
I guess if I don't know what's in it, it's easier for me to consume 😀

Christmas time is very special like Diwali in India. When it snows it is so beautiful. But u have to in it.
I remember in my 8th grade there was a story about snowy Christmas night in E gkusg text book. I did get the feeling of the story till I came to states and saw how cold it is.
