No problem. I link people to this video a lot because I feel when people answer the question "what software should I use?" with simply "After Effects" or "DaVinci" they're not clear about which stage of the process they're talking about and it creates some confusion
Hmm, yes you could use MapMap but it can be a bit glitchy and you would need to use screen capture to save out your mapping to a media player which is a bit of a cowboy method
Hi, I am trying to get video to play on just one area of my mapped house. I do have a map, and a projector, but am trying to get it to play on one section of the map only. Any suggestions?
Blender is good if you are interested in 3d modelling and other 3d effects and illusions but it's a more advanced way to go. Most people get started in 2d

Yes, just a video and play that video from a media player plugged into the projector

There is MapMap but it is very buggy these days and also VPT which you could check out
