I had a 'dream come true' happen when I opened for Jon Anderson at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA. He not only put on a fantastic show, he was a gentleman and amazing soul when I got to sit down and chat with him before the show. And yes, Jon is 'the voice of YES'.
J Morisonon YES is not YES anymore PERIOD. No Jon, No Rick, No Chris, Steve Howe has a lot of balls ( well, he IS an arrogant asshole, as much as I LOVE his playing! ) continuing this disgracr, 'cause guess what Steve? Yours IS a Disgrace!!!! Shame on you!!! Alan, I know you just go where the rest of the guys go, so I know it's not your fault. It's such a shame, the magic is GONE!
@mypointohwell Drama was the real drama. whorst rock album ever made. I can say this, because I was one of the fisrt gusy that bougt it 5 min after were published.
I've seen Yes on numerous occasions and they have always been awesome (whatever the combination of band members). But I saw Jon Anderson alone on stage in Sydney in about 2012 and it was wonderful. It was like Yes as the uncarved block, because Jon is the spirit of Yes, the very essence.
What a wondrous performer he is! So happy to have stumbled across this. His voice... So strong so pure... Must have been amazing to watch in person. Game me multiple goosebumps. Maestro!!
Thank you Jon. You and Jean Luc are going to manifest. It's a perfect match. I wish I could have been in Aspen. Your voice is strong, man! Don't stop! Cheers KK
Wonderful upload. Thank You soooooo much. Jon's voice sounds FANTASTIC. And he IS a GOOD(not GREAT)rhythm guitarist. His voice IS HIS instrument. And the TRUE sound of YES.
Carlos ,,, I agree with you 100%. Yes is Fake!!! without Jon Anderson singing the lyrics. Why do you think they got a few guys that looked like Jon, sounded like Jon to do the job of lead singer?!?!? Yes is not Yes without Jon. I hope one day to have the real Jon with Rick, Chris, Steve and either Alan White or Bill Buford! ..... "Can you Imagine" ???
I saw Jon Anderson during the Animation tour in Ft. Lauderdale with my brother. He played some of his solo pieces (as he does here), some Jon & Vangeiis songs and some Yes songs. He had David Sancious on keyboards who absolutely nailed the Vangelis and Yes keyboard parts. It looks like he can still do a great show at the age of 70.
His voice is superb and his playing on guitar and piano is outstanding for a singer, he also used to play a lot of rhythmguitar with Yes, a fact that few people seem to be aware of. . .
Thank you so much for posting this, I was just reading a posting that said Jon's voice had gone to pot but this proves otherwise, just as good as ever. He has a sort of aura live that is what made Yes great. Brilliant
I was at this concert, and it was such an amazing experience to see Jon up close in personal performing acoustic versions of such amazing Yes classics. This concert was always a surprise for me, as before going to this show I never knew Jon played piano!
Dave Strand Save your money. Only Howe and White from the classic line up. It's like McCartney and Ringo playing together and still calling themselves The Beatles. RIP Chris.
+Neil Ouellette not even so: Paul&Ringo were at it from the start, without Jon and Chris none of the founding members (and the spirit and soul) of Yes are still there.
Jon Anderson is still so remarkable. He sounds great. I saw Toto and Yes last night at Foxwoods. Anderson should have been at the helm especially in the absence of Chris. Jon Davison is very talented and a wonderful human being but no one can replace Anderson in Yes. I would love to see the likes of Anderson and Davison do something together.
Oh, Did I forget to mention? You're besting the current Yes by degrees I can't even express. Yours is such an honest giving and sharing. So there. yeah.
I've been a Jon Anderson - YES Fan since 1972, when I first saw them at the San Diego Colosseum, as the back up band to Black Sabbath. Peter Frampton was 1st, then YES singing their Beatles Cover "Every Little Thing She Does", and WE Called Them Back TO Stage 2 Times.. Black Sabbath Said It Was Their Concert Venue, SO they Had to get Off Stage Finally.. I've not missed a YES Concert, If I Could Get To It Since.
Interesting rhythm guitar arrangement on "Yours Is No Disgrace" - maybe a bit primal and not technically his best playing, but originality and artistry in spades over many decades from this creative guy. Tons of respect for Mr. Anderson and really glad he's still working with fellow maestro Rick Wakeman from time to time... their CD "The Living Tree" is just brilliant work - clearly they bring out the best in each other.
I think Jon Anderson sounds great, he must be at least 70 years old. Remember also he had issues with severe asthma not long ago. For people to criticize his playing I think is unfair, as a solo act he's great. He is the sound of yes with his very unique, gifted voice. As for his former band members, if they never get together again, I really don't care. I would pay to see Jon Anderson, not the current Yes band. Jon should get together with Rick Wakeman and form another band. Jon Anderson, amazing voice, amazing talent. Glad your back and doing well.
John Demarkis This is TRUE but Jon is known for his Vocals. At least he "tries". (I'm a guitar player so I know what you mean.) NOBODY can match his voice and thoughts though.
***** Definitvamente.
there is nobody like jon,im sorry that he wasn't on tour with yes that really sucks.ive seen yes about 12 or 13 times.all time favorite band.one of the few bands that sound just like the record live, should have been in the hall of fame, not kiss!
To be the very best at what you do takes a lot of ego. That is true in music, acting, sports, etc. How you positively control that ego is the trick. I'm sure that Jon's need to make sure Yes performed to its optimum grated on people just like Steve's and Chris' quirks. The result was incredible music and musicianship among all the band members. It drove them to be the very best.
a VOICE and a SPIRIT... Jon's voice/music carries something the current (technically ok) YES lacks... his solo work lacks the musical support of YES and is so less, however there is SOUL here... (I hope for reconciliation and more from a ABWH or ABWR or simply YES)
I grew up with Yes and finally went to see the band playing Fragile and Close to the Edge in Sydney, Australia (2014). The show was great but there is no way to compare the "new" Yes with Jon Davison to the real Yes with Jon Anderson. I am disappointed that Yes dumped Jon Anderson for Davison (and Rick Wakeman for Geoffrey Downes) instead of reaching amicable decision that will see the band continuing to perform with both Anderson and Wakeman. The other members of the band dumped Anderson only because “of their need to replace Anderson with someone young who could sing”. They also wanted to go on tour and money is a big issue but this was a bad decision. Anderson felt betrayed but here again listening to him performing Yes songs by himself, I must say that with all the “hip hop” around Davison, Jon Anderson was fantastic in the band and still fantastic alone. I don’t see any problem in his singing and I guess that other fans would agree. Jon Anderson is irreplaceable. Hopefully Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White are also reading this comment.
Little Cosmic Jon.... nice to hear his voice has healed... He should put a band together.... without those guys that are going about charging big money to see their second rate cover act...
Jon sounds better singing over his technically lacking but soulful guitar and piano playing than the abomination of Yes that exists today. If only they would rejoin with Jon and tour on a less rigorous level, they would both benefit.
His voice does indeed sound pretty good but I dislike the lowered keys of all the Yes classics and it's not like he has to project over a loud rock band--his thinner voice wouldn't stand a chance over loud amps. It's a practical choice to play solo acoustic, as opposed to get a solo, electric band behind him. Considering Steve's bitterness towards the man, which has roots in their Tormato-era feud (a feud that never really ended--read interviews with Jonathan Elias about how much Jon despised Steve during the ABWH days and the catty stuff he said about how "Steve doesn't know how to really play, he just solos"), and Steve's reluctance to do all Yes songs in sometimes-drastically-lower keys, I don't think we'll ever see a reunion. People, especially of the 3/5 variety, tend to forget that Yes was about Anderson/Howe, not just Anderson, as far as writing. Then there's Relayer, an album credited to being written by Yes AS A BAND for a reason. That's their best work and all five wrote it. Anyway, to summarize: both parties are happier without each other. Jon is radiating pure joy here, as are Yes on every live show they've done with Jon D. I say let 'em stay in their separate camps and be happy.
These versions are but a pale shadow of the original brilliant ones. I live in Oakville but did not manage to get to this show. I'm glad I didn't waste $100 or so to see Jon play guitar this amateurishly. My god, he sounds like someone in the subway. He'd be much better with even a small band, I'm sure. The voice is still there.
No, Yes is NOT Yes without this angelic voice.
No Chris Squire, either. So Yes has no original members.
@mypointohwell Drama was the real drama. whorst rock album ever made. I can say this, because I was one of the fisrt gusy that bougt it 5 min after were published.
Drama have all spirit of Yes, was other context....now without Jon, Yes it s only tribute band for itself
I've seen Yes on numerous occasions and they have always been awesome (whatever the combination of band members). But I saw Jon Anderson alone on stage in Sydney in about 2012 and it was wonderful. It was like Yes as the uncarved block, because Jon is the spirit of Yes, the very essence.

his voice is amazing !!! sounds like he was still 20.
nice to see Jon's voice continues to get stronger and stronger
Couldn't stop watching. Here in a chair that really fits me.
Jon, you rock. You always have. Love to you from us here in Massachusetts!
Jon your vocals are back!!!!
Sounding best since 2002....nice...warmed my heart
Thank you Jon. You and Jean Luc are going to manifest. It's a perfect match. I wish I could have been in Aspen. Your voice is strong, man! Don't stop!
Cheers
KK
I was lucky to see this Tour last year .
Jon is a great artist and a one of a kind .
God bless him
how refreshing to hear new arrangements of old classics.
Wonderful upload. Thank You soooooo much. Jon's voice sounds FANTASTIC. And he IS a GOOD(not GREAT)rhythm guitarist. His voice IS HIS instrument. And the TRUE sound of YES.
Canada always loved Jon and rightfully so, eh?
Yes without Jon is a fake. Jon's voice is unique.Great talent, wonderful person, cosmic man.
Carlos ,,, I agree with you 100%. Yes is Fake!!! without Jon Anderson singing the lyrics. Why do you think they got a few guys that looked like Jon, sounded like Jon to do the job of lead singer?!?!? the magic voice of{JON ANDERSON} is wonderfull🙂👍
wow, what a heavenly voice, God is in the room
Thank you for this Gift.
You're welcome!

Olias is right up there with the best Yes albums.
I agree awesome
I agree!
He looks good, his voice sounds great. What a relief.
Thank you so much for posting this, I was just reading a posting that said Jon's voice had gone to pot but this proves otherwise, just as good as ever.

Good Lord, Jon's voice is finally developing some bottom! I have to say it sounds better than ever in some ways.
Jon is Yes on his own. He plays the songs and you don't even miss teh other Yes-members.
It sounds more like Yes than Yes without Jon.
Fantastic!!! Thank you!!
gonna see YES in August in Florida , just wish Jon was still with them.
Dave Strand Save your money. Only Howe and White from the classic line up. It's like McCartney and Ringo playing together and still calling themselves The Beatles. RIP Chris.
Neil are you related the ouellette clan in the Reno cal area
+Neil Ouellette not even so: Paul&Ringo were at it from the start, without Jon and Chris none of the founding members (and the spirit and soul) of Yes are still there.
+Scott Shingleton Nope. Sorry!
Jon, forever Yes!
Brilliant Performance!
Jon has always been a charming little elf, hasn't he though?
+DarkeningSkies1 Just remember, though: there's a damned good reason he was known as "The Hippie with the Iron Hand." :)
Deb Wunder The state of Yes since they "left him" leaves me in no question on that fact!
What a great voice Jon has! Yes is nowhere without him as lead vocal, get him back fast!
Oh, Did I forget to mention? You're besting the current Yes by degrees I can't even express. Yours is such an honest giving and sharing. So there. yeah.

the sweetness of the guitar pick
Bill Griffin, thank you so much for posting. Whoever filmed was good and steady handed and the audio is perfect. God bless.
Thanks Chris, I shot it while hand holding a small cam....hard on the arms after a while! Glad that you like the video!
Jon Anderson have a nice voice, Jon 4ver!
Thanks (a lot) Bill. Appreciate you sharing this. His voice sounds terrific.
My inspiration to keep playing and singing my music - he is just amazing - he can still draw big crowds all by himself -
Interesting rhythm guitar arrangement on "Yours Is No Disgrace" - maybe a bit primal and not technically his best playing, but originality and artistry in spades over many decades from this creative guy. Tons of respect for Mr. Anderson and really glad he's still working with fellow maestro Rick Wakeman from time to time... their CD "The Living Tree" is just brilliant work - clearly they bring out the best in each other.

He is God 2 me.

Thanks very much for the upload! Love JA!
Very nice upload and show. I love Jon and would kill to see him live again. Been far too long for me.
ahahah GREAT WORK JON!!! ^^
Espero voltar a vê-lo no Brasil!!
I'd fall asleep at this show. Put the coffee on please, i need it.
Looking forward to hearing Jon Luc Ponty , Stanley Clarke and Jon Anderson together!
+Joyce Sweeting Anderson-Ponty Band=Wally Minko/Keyboards, Jamie Glaser/ Guitar, Baron Browne/Bass, Rayford Griffin/ drums
I agree Stanley Clark played with Frank zappa at one point awesome
Rick you do know music as zappa said most people wouldn't know good music if it didn't bite them in the ass
very true Scott..People just don't get what "Good" music is!
Scott Shingleton Jon-Luc Ponty also played with Frank Zappa.
thanks for uploading ,this is cool.im glad jon is still out there ,he is a legend.
who knew he was such an accomplished (rhythm) guitarist?!
What he sucks on guitar
John Demarkis
This is TRUE but Jon is known for his Vocals. At least he "tries". (I'm a guitar player so I know what you mean.) NOBODY can match his voice and thoughts though.
The one and only!
Anderson es un coloso, un maestro y un predicador, pero no puedo evitar que me cause tristeza el verlo solo sin el resto de la banda.

He sounds and looks just as good and maybe better as when I saw his solo show in Riviere du Loup in 2008.
Màgico escuchar a Jon , una voz angelical increible que te envuelve y te lleva a viajar
Mi favorito desde siempre. Un genio de Todos los Tiempos!!
Merci

Jon's voice is magical, but it's his creativity that is really what's missing in the current incarnation of Yes.
Miss more musicians, more and better instruments. Fans aplausses no matter what.
All for money, Jon.😢. Shame on us.
日本に来てライブやってくれよ・・・・
would have been a great video if every song hadn't been cut short
Many people don’t know that he’s a good multi instrumentalist.

I don't remember posting this. haha
No backing musicians?

+davidofpiano423 Mr. Squire refused wait Jon for healing. Period.-
+davidofpiano423 what he's doing here is one of a kind. I love the new chords to the old songs
To me this is a copyright violation it won't happen in Aspen
Masz piękny głos.Podziwiam go.Ale tylko z Vangelisem.
wish you hadn't made all those cuts

This is the smartest comment about Yes I have read...Thanks...
I agree. What Jon is doing now (or was, until he got sick) is some of the best work of his career IMO. He doesn't need Yes anymore.
Karl Meischen Bollocks!!!
gotta love 14:50
+Bart Nixon not to mention 18:40
Great artist, but y don't fell the guitar in my ears, y rejected, y am sorry cause Jon is my hero!
Terrific singer and composer; but Yes was most of all wild arrangements. He needs company!.-

what is this, the tommy smothers show. lol
