I have recently learned that some of my ancestors came from East Meon as far back as the 15th century. I now find it difficult to travel as far as England (live in Canada), so really appreciated a look at the village. It is just perfect, and has such an interesting history. Thank you so much for making it possible for me to visit.
The country side is breathtakingly beautiful. I get lost for days when I visit England. Love all the history. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous little town.✨
I can’t wait to visit again… waiting for this virus to , hopefully, get under control soon. I wish you had a tour company so you could take people around to these places. You commentary is fabulous!!
I'm English and I've lived in Italy for 56 years,so lovely to see these quanto villages and the lovely thatched cottages. My great grand parents had a thatched cottage outside Aylesbury, it's still there but not thatched any more.Thank you for bringing back lots of memories, and the nice clear voce telling us all the history etc Take care good traveling ,love from Italy
Hell Ann, greetings from England to Italy! So glad you liked the video tour, there are lots more cottages and country homes for you to see on the channel, and we will be filming more soon too! All the best.
I have seen thatched roofs all over the world and that one is definitely the prettiest one with the most professional handiwork of them all.! Well done, to whoever did it.
What a stunning beauty this village owns... I'm glad that u choose place of fine history, elegance & information so adorable that one wouldn't stop charming it..👍👍
You must go back to visit inside the church to see its Saxon black marble Tournai font, one of only seven in England. The church is also home to a fabulous tapestry of the village created by the villagers. The Meon valley is a beautiful part of the country.
Wow what a church, just looked it up. So true mini Notre Dame! Amazing stained glass. That is now on the list, shame was in Winchester filming for Jane Austen a couple of weeks back and could have popped in then. Still not that far away for another time.
You have a Beautiful Crispy Voice. No one has Narrated crisp Clear. Carry on the good work. Well Appreciated. The Buildings of Yesteryears are Beautiful compare to today’s buildings.
I cannot wait until our International flights open up again (Oz). This is a must see for me and it will go on the "to do list". Totally idyllic and somewhere I would gladly see my days out. I mentally visualised living in one of those cottages..............doesn't hurt to day dream, it costs nothing.

Nice village video you did. Very historical and beautiful sights to see. Have you ever tried dovercourt england. I've been there. It's a nice village to visit, and sudeley castle. Greetings from Canada 😃
Hi Alisa, we visited a month or so ago now when we filmed our Jane Austen series. The cathedral is wonderful, sadly the crypt was off limits due to Covid 🙄 We were at Westminster Abbey last weekend (where you cannot film at all) but I have to say Winchester seemed more impressive! Video on Winchester which was superb coming in a few weeks or so!
@@MemorySeekers Oh, I didn’t think about the impact of COVID. I agree, Winchester is one of the prettiest cathedrals in England, and I think fewer American tourists get there. We were heading from Heathrow to Salisbury with a taxi driver/guide, who took us through Chawton and Winchester on the way to our B&B in Salisbury. We’ve visited Salisbury, Wells, Winchester, Ripon, York, Durham, and others. All so fascinating!
What a valuable asset you are to the RUclips channel 👏 👏 Please keep sending us many more videos like this one🙏 May we continue to build old historical buildings.
Your channel is unique because it gives a very detailed tour guide to specific locations in England. Great narration and camera work! I often watch your videos while eating my breakfast. It's so relaxing and inspires me for the day. -Much love from the Philippines
Very nice area, it sounds French. I just love the idea of foot paths. I’m not sure how they were brought about but I think it’s a great idea. I love the old buildings in these villages. Thank you

There is an ocean front tudor-revival home in La Jolla, CA down by Windansea that somehow was given a waiver from the city building code bureaucrats to allow part of the roof to be thatched. Hopefully it did its job during our many rainstorms this Spring. It's on Camino de la Costa just south of Palomar Street. They did a great job with it and the home is lovely.
I live a few miles from East Meon. We like to dine at the George. When Cromwell's troops went through East Meon on their way to Cheriton, they stripped the lead from the roof of the church to make musket balls.

Super village, what a surprise we had when we visited not knowing it existed before we happened to find it. Little Gem indeed.
What a lovely tiny village. I truly enjoy your videos and the history as well. Thanks for sharing!
So nice of you thank you 😊
I LOVE the decorative designs on the thatched roofs. That's a craft that's not seen much. I hope it doesn't die out.
There are view few companies able to do the craft now, as you say let's hope it does not die out.
Atât casele cu acoperișuri foarte drăguțe, cât și florile printre verdeață prezenta , îți oferă o priveliște de vis !!

Good for THEM !
The problem with villages is that everyone knows your private business, apart from being impossibly expensive and snooty! Ugh !
