I live in Alaska and hall my own water, had to pull my water tank the other day and it still had a little water in it and it froze, so when I tried to put the tank back in the truck it was to heavy for me to do it myself. I was about to give up and wait for my son to get home from school and thought "What would Al do", he always figures something out when he has a problem. I thought ratchet straps, he always has a way to use his ratchet straps to help out. I wrapped my ratchet strap around the tank and was able to ratchet it up high enough to lift it in the back of the truck myself! Thanks for helping me think out of the box and to never give up, there is always a way, thanks!
That’s funny, when my daughter is building something we are in the same mind-set, “What would Al do in this situation”. Funny, then we laugh 😂 about it!
We've been watching you for several years. Love the channel and glad to see you will be working with Ken Karpenter. He seems to be a very honorable man as y'all are.
I agree. As Al started his buildings at the home front, I couldn’t wait each day to see the next video. Now it’s the Off-Grid property and, excitement all over again!
Moving right along, amazing how much you two have done on the new property. Where are the doggies? Haven't seen them in a while. Love Figaro, he's loaded with personality.
I've already seen it . I will keep to my self. Love his channel he a hoot to watch. Would have not known about his channel until he helped you with the cement. Thanks All .
Those are some huge garlic bulbs. You should have a good harvest next year. I watched Ken’s video where he was getting the rafters cut and ready to install. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you Tuesday.
That is a lot of garlic. I know Gina uses it to cook with every day though. I watched Ken's video yesterday, it was very interesting. He was making the template for the roof rafters. I am getting so excited for this build to start. Have a Blessed weekend everyone.
You should put in a drain pipe under your foot scraping great so the melted snow has a place to drain. I would dig it out a little bit and line it with cement. That way you can wash it out under the great get all the mud and stuff out.
Good morning Lumnah Acres….so excited to see your build take shape. I have been a loyal fan of you and Ken’s Karpentry for a few years now. You both have great content and it is easy to feel a connection to both of your channels. God has really blessed your family and Ken…keep up the faith and your good work. God Bless….
I have been watching you develop the new property, I must say it is a classic example what can be done with TEAM work. That is really impressive. Thank you for allowing me to come along on your adventure
Good morning from the UK can you drill a small hole in the end of the plastic rod and insert a screw to use as leverage. Great to see Gina getting the garden going
I planted my garlic yesterday. Every year I double up how much I plant. Still have room to do more doubling up. Don't forget to fence this area in as moose and deer will eat the sprouted garlic. I have raised beds with a chicken wire fencing around it. 10 X 16 feet. Not wide enough for a deer to jump in then get out. Deer don't perceive distance well when they see two fences. Things are moving along well for the new property build.
Great Job Al & Gina, just a suggestion have you thought of doing a front Porch along the front of the Tiny House 🏡? It would protect the front door from the rain & snow !!
what a satisfying posting! The story telling was great, and it all flowed so very well. I had wondered about everything from the pigs to the livestock trailer, to the floor joists. You answered all those and at the same time gave us a sneak peak at the timeline that you are working with. I think we all are going to be very surprised as to how well this has been planned and how it will all fall together. I learned about garlic today, I did not know it took that long to grow. We use it but never paid any attention. Just another example of how much planning has to go into your world. And all on top of building the ogp up. You two are making and building a dream. Bless you ! I will be right here eagerly looking over your shoulder.
In the future, just place the garlic bulb on a flat surface, place your hand on the top of the bulb and press down sharply. The bulb will instantly segment into cloves. Saves time.
I enjoy your videos and all the hard work you do. Anxious to see your tiny house finished. I have not seen your dogs lately, do you still have them? God bless😊
Garlic, yum... There are so many food crops that require multiple seasons to grow it makes it difficult to start a new homestead... Don't forget a spot for the asparagus!

If you want to plant things in straight lines use a scaffold board or similar, Auto straight lines, stops compaction of soil , keeps a lot of soil off of your boots.
It sure is great watching you and Gina working together like that.. it reminds me so much of my whole family working together back in the 50s to have our vegetable garden, and then canning everything to last through the winter. We didn't raise our meet though, we were hunters and our meat was wild game and fish. But believe me, i enjoyed the fruits of our labors far more than the labor itself...
Good morning Lumnah family. Al I was wondering if you cut some fallen timber logs to place under your lumber delivery and future deliveries would help to keep materials off the wet ground
I can give you some farming advice, check out the Charles Dowding and Dutch Farmer canals. It demonstrates that it is not necessary to dig. The secret is in the manure.
I always heard for garlic, plant after labor day weekend and harvest the week after 4th of July. It is like plant peas on St. Patricks' Day. They need to be tweaked for your zone, but pretty close.
I watched the video of Ken working on your tiny house rafters. So it shouldn't be long now and you all will start on your tiny home. God bless . Good job on the garlic. Stay safe on the build. Stay warm cause winter is on its way. Love your channel🇺🇸🌹❤️
We saw Ken's video last night. He's cutting the rafters. He has lots of lumber that he moved inside his shop to keep it out of the weather. That was so much fun to watch what he is doing for Lumnah Acres! God bless y'all!
On the new garlic bed. What about taking some of the scrap wood you used for your concrete forms and make a U shaped border leaving it open on the side the water will be coming in. Less chance of it washing away while still getting the water coming in unimpeded.
Greetings, we used to own a hog farm in the eighties and early nineties. We always used a local company to process our hogs. My wife and I had full time jobs in addition to the farm, so time was precious. On average about one hog every six months for our use. We also sold hogs to local customers and most times we would take them to the processor for our customers. All they had to do was provide a cut schedule to the processor, and then pick up the meat. Can't wait to see the tiny house going up. Good call on the garlic, getting it in now. Suggestion for the raised bed....surround it with boulders to box it in. Good Morning Lumnah Family! I am waiting patiently for your Tiny House build to begin with Ken Karpenter!
To get the line out, perhaps you can get a small diameter deck or wood screw into it and then pull on the screw?
