Thank you for speaking slowly, clearly and calmly , rather than ranting away at top speed as is so common with gaming video makers who think that shouting makes their words more interesting
I resonate so much with that! Thanks for speaking slowly!! And without a soundtrack behind. For me, that is so helpful to learn effectivelly. I really appreciate it!
This is a great instructional video. I watch many videos aimed at teaching a game and honestly, this is one of the best I’ve seen. Well done and thank you 🙂.
Excellent video mate. Very clear, detailed and comprehensive. I really liked how you smoothly combined explaining both solo mode and multiplayer gameplay at the same time. Thanks a lot for the video!
Thank you 😊 I sometimes wonder if it works blending the solo and multiplayer explanations or if I should just focus on the solo elements. So I’m glad to hear that it is helpful. Your feedback is greatly appreciated :)
Wonderful tutorial and playthrough! It is very clear to me - and I am enjoying the game. Thank you for such a clear explanation and I really appreciate the pace - perfect for learning!
I bought this without having any space and I'd just gotten This War of Mine as well. Now I need to explain to bf that I bought two games in two days 😭 can't wait to play it if I'm able to keep it
At 12:46 you were mistaken when you said you could train an additional five workers. Players start with the grande worker and two regular workers, meaning you may only train an additional *three* workers. I'm sure it was just an oversight but I thought it bore mentioning.
Good question... Because I'm playing with the Tuscany expansion board, you don't need to pay the bead to use the bonus if it is printed on the space already. You only need to spend beads to gain access to bonuses otherwise unavailable with only the far left action space.
thanks for your answer! I 'm really trying to understand how to play this game 😄 About my question, I did start a video on youtube called : (playing at viticulture with the Tuscany expansion solo / solo sunday )and around 16:30 she's saying that in solo mode the only way to get a bonus is to spend a glass bead... I'm lost😓@@ThatBoardGameShow
Happy to help :) A quick perusal of BGG revealed this discussion with the designer of the solo mode (Morten Monrad Pederson) where he explains exactly how the bonus action spaces work in - boardgamegeek.com/thread/3003017/article/42687034#42687034 Reading through his answers there I do believe I played it correctly, as the automa is really there to simulate a second player, so the basic 2 player rules will usually apply for worker placement and bonuses.
Good catch. Thank you for pointing that out. I realise now I was accidentally counting the special workers from Tuscany in addition to the regular workers, instead of them being used as a replacement of a regular worker. Oops.
At 9:38 a little mistake: the second (middle) action space is available at 3+ players, and the third (right) at 5+.
Thank you for pointing this out, it is much appreciated.
I have pinned your comment in order to minimise any confusion for future viewers.

I often feel like I’m going way to slow.
So it is great to hear that it is actually helpful :)

I know this video is over 2 years old, but I still felt compelled to say that this was such a well done "How to Play" video! You really are a natural!
Thank you ☺️
That is very kind and encouraging to hear.

Really like how you explain both rules and flow of the game at once. Really well done.
Thank you :)
Great explanation! I really appreciate your clarity.
Thank you :)
I’m so glad you found it helpful :)
Nice camera work, seeing what’s going on with the game up close is much appreciated.
Thank you. The extra camera angle can be quite tricky to achieve those closeup shots, so it is wonderful to know that it is appreciated :)
Great video. Solo is setup and now ready to go! Thanks you, clear explination of the rules👌
Excellent video, James!

I just got the game and expansion in a trade. You've done a great job introducing the game. Looking forward to trying this solo!
Thank you :)
Have fun!
This is great and very helpful!

Oops. Thanks for picking up on this :)
Hello, at 35:15 you are using the bonus action to plant twice. Are you not supposed to use a glass bead to do that?
Good question...

12:45 you have a max worker placement of 6.... Even with the special worker
Good catch. Thank you for pointing that out.
