Those crook neck military grade flashlights aren't worth a damn. A powerful LED flashlight like Surefire or Olight would be much better. Believe it or not, I have about 6 NEBO LED flashlights. Most have a domed projector lens that will cast a wide, circular, bright white light. NEBO don't cost as much as Olight, but I've had mine for 6 years and they still work. They have 3 power settings to conserve power, are rechargeable with lithium batteries, and a strobe to flash blind someone for a minute. They don't throw light as far, but they'll put out a wide circle of light.
I recommend 5,000-6,000 lumen power. That's pretty decent. Some of their other models also feature a flood light feature and a red flood feature. That's enough to light up the trail on low so you can walk safely and high for max vision but it also burns the batteries down to about 2 hours.
I also have a 6,000 lumen spotlight with a red cap lens. It throws the light pretty far without a projector lens. It also has a flood light pointed downward for walking down trails and conserve energy. It also features an SOS setting to flash 3 dots, 3 dashes, and 3 dots for emergency signaling. The red lens cap can help preserve your night vision and assist in emergency signaling.

There isn't ultraviolet light at night. Ultraviolet light is a very high-energy light that comes from the sun. Dogs have excellent smell and hearing, which makes them better able to detect things at night. They do have better night vision as well, but it is not due to UV light.

    • @lostinpa-dadenduro7555
      @lostinpa-dadenduro7555 2 месяца назад

@@macwinter7101 There is in fact ultraviolet light at night. Not like during the day of course, but even on a moonless, cloudy night there will still be a small, though negligible, amount present. More on full moon nights, etc. To what degree does this aid cats and dogs, I don’t know.
Dog vision is adapted as a low light predator focused on prey movement. In addition to adaptations of rods and cones like cats, their eyes let in approximately 61% of ultraviolet light. Many mammals other than humans can see into the ultraviolet spectrum.
I suppose since many fluids bioluminescence when exposed to UV it might have evolved to help them track blood trails or urine of prey, or to more easily spot urine left by other canines.
Many types of lightbulbs also emit an amount of UV. Though manufacturers seek to limit this.

It always amazes me these "Scary/Creepy? Haunted Camping" videos. Every single time the video channel guy goes out they have a scary encounter. I have camped/backpacked/rock climbed/RV'd/Truck-trailer camped for 30+ years and have never experienced this. Is it just odds? Maybe, but spooky scary shit like this doesn't occur this frequently. Ive had dumb people do dumb things near me but Im prepared. Ive stayed in old mining cabins in remote locations in Death Valley and camped in remote areas in the forest. Those tree knocks?...Bigfoot...maybe. But where are you camping? Near a town or campground? Is it drunk teenagers trying to scare you? Maybe. I can make a video and record a nocturnal sound and talk it up like its a battalion of boogymen coming towards camp.

Yes there are a lot of RUclips channels that are outright bullshite with their fake videos. But just because you have never seen or heard anything scary or unusual doesn’t mean cryptids aren’t real. I’ve been hunting here in Australia for 30 plus years and I can tell you with 100% certainty that there is strange and unexplained phenomena out in the remote bush lands. I’ve seen a dogman 12 years ago while pig hunting and I’ve seen what I now know to be entities, they are transparent like the predator character in the movie and I’ve smelt and sensed some weird stuff over the years. One day something will happen that will change your reality.

It is unlikely that someone will experience creepy things every time they go camping. However, the chances you will have frightening encounters depends heavily on where you are. Most of the lower 48 in the US is so developed that there's very few places, even in the wilderness, where humans don't have a regular presence. In these places, hunting pressures, habitat fragmentation, and natural fear of humans makes it very unlikely anyone will have concerning wildlife encounters. But when you go to much of Canada and Alaska, where it is much more remote, there's a higher chance someone will encounter wildlife and that the wildlife will have a more aggressive, territorial or predatory behavior towards humans.
There are also some places, such as in the Pacific Northwest and Appalachia, where there are feral populations of people that might behave in concerning ways towards campers.
This guy may be staging a lot of these videos for views. But there's also a chance he's going to places where people have either reported unusual activity or where it's truly remote enough to have a higher chance of hearing wildlife at night.

About 20 years ago we were hiking down in Southern Oregon and at one point I heard a couple of loud crashing sounds about 50 yards away in the forest. I stopped and looked in the direction the sounds come from and I was sure that I could a large face staring back at me. I stood there for several minutes and it did not move. I made a mark on the trail where I had been looking and we went on our way further along the trail. Later that afternoon when we came back to that spot I looked at where I had seen the face and there was an empty space I could now see and it confirmed that something large had been looking back at me earlier. A couple you years later I read an account of a guy who would hike up that trail and camp there with his two dogs. He had said the dogs would often chase off bobcats, bears and cougars. One night the dogs ran off chasing something and shortly came back terrified and hid in the tent. Whenever this guy would try to take his dogs there they were still terrified and would refuse to go there again. He had reported this account to a local Bigfoot discussion group and others confirmed similar experiences in that area.
Another story about us hiking down in southern Oregon occurred around 2002. We often would hike on the Bigelow Lakes trail near the Oregon Caves Monument. Every time we were there I had a strong feeling that something was watching us from way up on the mountain. One time we were there it was getting close to sunset and it was way down the trail. I could smell a very strong skunk like smell that reminded me of skunk cabbage but it was way too late in the season for it. We decided it was wise to turn around and head back. I did a little research and found an account of a southern Oregon psychologist who had a scary encounter near where we turned around that evening.

The lack of sound from those chirping insects was what I've heard from others. When Bigfoot or w.e. is around all that light noise gets dead dead quiet. And that was what happened literally b4 and then stopped when the thin probably said ok bye. Lol

What state are you in? What was making those noises from two different directions were Giant Hairy Forest People. If that happens again try speaking out that you have not bad intentions for them and that you are just enjoying the peace and tranquility of their beautiful home. respect them and their home. I live in Oregon and KNOW they are a people. Just huge and covered in hair. They have their own language but understand the languages of us little hairless ones in the region they reside.

You need to pick a number and keep it with you. Such as .357 or .44 or .38 or even simply .22. Heck you might "gauge" your choice number as 10 or 12 . I always like to accompany that number with a little emphasis like double aught buck for my choice of number. Going with one or more of these choice numbers make camping always go calmer and really a lot safer. Hopefully you will never have to call upon your chosen number while camping but if you do it will be there for you if you need it.

Whoa this is terrifying. I really hope you carry a firearm dude!! Last year, I went off grid camping in sequoia national forest n I heard those exact tree knocks you heard, as well as a very low guttural scream or maybe a call. Sounded like a huge animal was calling. Everytime it would scream or vocalize, it sounded like it was getting closer very quickly, (traveling by maybe one mile per minute)) accompanied by silence after. It didn’t stop for maybe an hour. I was sooo scared by the super low pitched angry yells. Definitely did not come from a human it was way too loud and far away but got closer so quickly. Have you ever heard that in any forests before? Be safe, love the videos!

It's easy to figure out how you got scared. The answer is in your footage at 0:05. When looking down the stream there's a darker spot than the surrounding forest. Zoom in on the dark area and you can see some Sasquatch. They can make you feel fear to run you off, probably because they have children nearby. The Sasquatch view humans as dangerous and try to keep them out of their areas. The Sasquatch live three times longer than humans so their elders saw what humans did to the First Nations Indian tribes and the Buffalo. Sasquatch are never alone, so if you see one you can be sure that others are nearby. Even though they might scare you they don't hurt you.

Why go at night??? Why not during the day??? I hope this young man carried a fire arm for his protection and his dog too. I hope your dog is on a leash ….and not wandering around for his own sake!
The forest seems to attract weird people, and ALL kind of people from killers to mentally unstable people, etc. who you don’t know and don’t want to know. It is dangerously crazy to go at night inside the forest. I don’t understand it either…..is it to prove something to someone??? Or is it just for fun??? I hope you and your dog are safely where you are.
