It’s the voice and how it echoed that made it extremely eerie. It was almost perfectly horrifying. Especially in the middle of the woods.
To me it sounded like something mimicking a human voice or something trying to sound human. I slow3d it down to 1/4 speed and it almost sounds like it is speaking at a normal human speed at that slow. Demonic if you ask me

Best case it was an innocent camper like him, though its highly unlikely given how isolated the woods are, but its creepy to think that he might have invited some evil presence by saying how lonely the place was
I live in Ontario Canada, and In the hot summer of 97 I was going to a party, and took a shortcut across an old train track bridge. As I made it halfway across I looked back to make sure there wasn’t a train coming. To the left hand side of me was wilderness with a clearing right in the middle of this forest. I could see something in the clearing that to me looked like someone wearing a big black coat with a pointed hood up with no facial features just standing there looking at me. I remember thinking why would someone be wearing a big coat in this heat for. At that moment I yelled “I See You”, and right after that it slowly backed up in to the tree lined, and disappeared. I told my friends, and they had said it was probably just a tweaker getting high. For some reason it has always stuck in my head as something strange.
Sounds like you saw a Bigfoot with a big Sagittal Crest, makes them look like a cone head. Reminds me of a sighting where the woman saw a person in the wood line with a big fur coat in the middle of summer or hikers seeing people who they think are wearing those skull hoodies that pull all that way up so you can't see the face. Again to me sounds like Bigfoot.

Anytime you venture into the wilderness at night always stay within view of your campfire. I have my own old school tricks passed down through generations. Not keeping your barons in a situation like this can cost you your life just keep that in mind.
AND always keep a pile of logs and branches nearby to keep the fire running. The last thing you want is for the fire to flame itself out...

The only thing I can think of is that it was some younger adults or teenagers hanging out and just wanted to give you a scare. They did a pretty good job if that's the case.

My grandmother (who would be 115 today) told me about the many black panthers in her part of Arkansas when she was young. She told me if I were ever outside and heard birds singing in the night (panthers sound like birds while chattering) followed shortly after by a woman screaming bloody murder, then I should seek a place of safety quickly because that is a Black Panther. I heard one once in Arkansas a couple of years ago. It did NOT sound like a cougar, puma, mountain lion, no it sounded just like a woman screaming for her life outside my patio door. Panthers do not sound catlike at all.

Raccoons during mating season sound like screaming women getting murdered. More likely what you heard. But yes, cougars (mountain lions) scream like women too, and they are in every lower south state of the U.S.
Panthers (jaguars) are not in the U.S., although spotted jaguar have been slowly moving into Arizona from Mexico over the last decade. Their territories are 100's of square miles, and they are absolute loeners, so ... there will never be many. To my knowledge, Arizona has tracked 3. They tell by the unique pattern of their spots by use of trail cameras in the mountains and foothills.
Anyway, so I'm curious where you are that has black Panthers (jaguars)...South America? South Asia? The U.K. even has some... Where you?

Mountain Lions, also called cougars, are in Arkasas, but this is a different cat entirely. They are buff, blond. Not black, no spots. They do sound like screaming women. It was 7th december 2021, exactly 9:13 pm deep in the woods( approx 60 kms from my home ) when i had my entire government (legal) Name called out in an infant baby voice.

Used to go camping by myself in the deserts of California and one night I kept hearing Coyotes...and they would not shut the hell up. I drifted off to sleep very early in the morning and I awoke to something licking my head....and I opened my eyes with a start and there was a pretty mangy coyote not a foot away from me. I wasn't afraid and I didn't really do anything....it sat down kind of looked around and left after a bit....I guess it tasted me and I didn't taste right so it left...lol. I did have a gun near me, but honestly never felt threatened enough to even think about it. Was kind of a magical moment actually.

Just FYI as a Native, there are things in the forests that haven't revealed themselves much... some are just not scary at all but believe me there are a few that will have you frozen solid if you accidentally ran into them. The good thing is they don't harm you but the effects of seeing them spiritually are damaging and days and months later you will feel what it is I mean...

Now THAT... must have been scary as all hell. I could practically feel your blood turn cold through the video when you heard that. I can tell your heart's racing with the quickened pace of breath too.
I've been disorientated in the woods before, there's nothing quite like it, it feels like your swimming through a dizzying fog and that's exactly how I remember it. The confusion is even enough to numb your fear a little. It's horrible but on top of your freaky experience with that voice, that night must have been your most unsettling. And keep safe for f***s sake, I get why you do it and you be you but you're all alone in the wilderness at night in virtually all of your videos, this is every missing person's story I've ever heard.
It's not just animals you have to worry about out there, it's people too.

Could be getting wasted, doing drugs, illegal hunting, could be high, psychotic or insane. Frickin'... cryptids, dogman, sasquatch, wolves, bears, coyotes, yeah no of all those things coming across a stranger is MUCH much more terrifying.
The fact that they weren't afraid in the slightest to see some stranger in the woods with their flashlight in the dark to say "I sEEE YOOO!" and reveal their location is honestly scary enough. The confidence it takes to do such a sing-songy declaration rather than the more typical "Hey", yeah no, I'd be haulin' tail. Something is so wrong about that.

Just take care is all, true story I've been lost before and could have died because of it. I think it was either a local or another camper messing with him. That echo isn't all that strange-sounding for a dead forest in a hilly area. He did find a trail, afterall. Exactly the sort of thing my friends and I would've done as teenagers. The silly voice tells me it was someone having a laugh. Probably another camper.
I've seen hundreds of horror videos and heard many voices. It's curious that, in other videos, I've heard voices that try to "imitate" something they're not (either people, or children). In this case, the voice clearly tries to imitate a girl. Perhaps these beings are intelligent enough to do this to try to scare the listener less and, consequently, attract attention closer (perhaps to be able to connect with the person). To me, this is pure terror. I will never forget this voice.

I think it was probably some other campers that were freaked out and that's why they said "I see you" when the light went out. They were probably frightened that the light was turned off by someone trying to hide so said "I see you" to let them know they were aware of them.

I walk through forests when it's dark constantly, the dude is walking near a trail so it isn't that far fetched to assume it's just someone out walking, seeing the flashlight, and just messing with him
Turns off flash light to signal friend
Friend: "I see you!"
All I can think about is the fact that he keeps saying how dead that forest is and yet he’s irresponsible enough to leave a campfire unattended.
Me and my friends were doing attackers vs defenders (3v4) in a match of airsoft in an abandoned house in the woods, my one buddy was in a bush about 20 feet away from us and me and my friend were about to enter the house until i heard rustling nearby i tapped him and signaled that someone was walking right next to us (in between my friend in the bush and us), we thought it was our friend in the bush, then one of our defending friends radiod in and asked if anyone had thrown a brick and that it wasnt funny, we immediately rushed in to help them, there were probably 4 sets of running steps scattering in all directions when me and my friends evacuated them from the building, straight out of a horror film and this video reminds me of the incident,
this means that whoever or whatever messed with us passed within 10 feet of me and didnt even know i was there (and im happy i didnt turn on my peq box to investigate the noise because idk what wouldve happened)

I agree these days. Campgrounds are packed to the fences in the summer but at least security there.
Sure he just said that in the “glad I caught that shit on camera that was wild” way. Because I can’t imagine he records all his walks. But that aside it seems he simply enjoys being alone on these things, finding enjoyment in late night walks be it a city’s sidewalk or the middle of nowhere is not at all uncommon or weird. I see no issue in what he does but I agree in recommending he have a weapon and preferably a projectile one

Your reaction tells a lot about your character. You're brave af and you don't even know it! Lol! I would've run like the wind! Whoever screamed "I see you" knows how to be stealthy in the woods. It's quite possible that person might be a stealth camper. He or maybe she knew that lights would attract attention in the dark if it was a person who's living in a cabin or stealth camping.

If scary movies have ever taught me anything, above all else, you never....NEVER turn around after walking then just continue as you turn back. One day youll walk right into the midst of something terrifying. You dont tromp through the woods with a flashlight where you cant see anything and everything for a mile can hear you and see you. The leaves itself gave the person away. They were probably followed for a while before the point we actually hear anything. Brazen to assume theres nothing there lol. And it woods are haunted, it doesnt make a difference whether its day or night, you know youre not alone.

What it is scary is what this young man is doing in that place at night. It gives me the creeps just watching. I hope he was armed before entering the woods……you got to bring a fire arm since you don’t know who or what you may encounter. And he said at the beginning he was going to spend the night there??? He is brave, truly brave. No way in hell I would be in that place during the day, never mind at night. I hope he can find his camp to get the hell out of there fast. I think this trip to this wilderness at night, is total insanity! Please be safe. 🙏
thank you for your comment tbh at times i get so creeped out by the places i explore that sometimes i just want to run out of there somehow the camera rolling makes that feeling go away
