Be mindful of cost. Living in city centres are more expensive than 5 or 10miles away from the city centre.
For your apartment, get an initial 6 months contract, so if you don't like it, you can leave after 6 months. Don't rush into over committing your finances, even if you have the money, spend like you don't. There's a lot of living expenses in UK, that will become apparent as you get used to the system.
Not all kitchen comes with an extractor.
Also, if possible, get the landlord to provide White goods (Fridge and freezer, washing machine, cooker) less cost for you and when they stop working, the landlord will replace.
If possible, start with a 1 bedroom apartment or house. Bills (Gas, Electric, Council tax, Water rate, Sewage) all adds up on top of the rent. Pls, keep an eye on the cost of everything. It all adds up at the end of the day, and you don't want to be working to pay just your bills.
The guarantor should suffice for a 6months contract. Don't let them push you into a 12mths contract.

Hey babes, nice video. I would recommend you look for a cheaper apartment(one bedroom flat). You’ve just moved into the country and be minimal with your spending till you are finally settled. Start setting long term goals now, work, settlement, mortgage etc. the number of rooms in the flat or size should not be a priority now however not saying you should lower your standards. Don’t forget you’re just starting so be strategic with your planning.

The truth is when one arrives abroad and you don't have alot of money to spear or people to help or stay with. One has to manage until you are stable to move to a better place especially if papers are not even intact....Don't jump into the ocean until you learn how to swim in the deep..

For a start I would say u guys should go for something affordable den wen u gain ur ground u can get a more beautiful place to stay 👍👍Uk is not dat easy as it looks so I won’t advise u don’t spend dat much yet ✌️However go for a calm place getting bus in Uk is very easy so don’t be scared okay 👍 so I would suggest if u can get a room and a pallor for a start since dere is no kids yet am sure dat one will cost less or even a studio apartment . My option tho 🥰 have a blast 🎉

Been here awhile. You can also try a building apartment that's already furnished. Even a studio can work for a few months. There are nice ones with gym and pool.

I promise you when you start with the Nigerian cooking you will wish the kitchen at the 2nd house had an extractor cos the fire alarm will go off numerous times and the window is too small to let it out. I wish you could get a furnished apartment tho the prices are too much for an unfurnished apartment o...The cost of buying furniture and then moving later is enormous. Down south here 2 bedroom fully furnished and inclusive is about 850. Also, since your husband is a student y'all should be able to get council tax exemption letter from Uni. I think 🤔 i wish you all the best hon.
Please before getting the council tax exemption, ask the right people questions so that it won't after your Post Study Work application.

Kosy, depending on your immigration status and income you may also be fully or partially exempt from prescriptions, dental and optical charges which might help with expenses. Do research this carefully though as using public funds might affect ypur post graduate route visa application. Please, try to make good use of the notes/negotiating part of the rental before application before agreement some landlords can be accommodating and see reason

I love the second apartment my it's really nice but the only turn off is that it's not furnished. You will have to buy a lot of furniture and appliances. I think that's a lot considering the fact that you are students. My humble suggestion is that you should get a furnished apartment that's bills inclusive. That will save you a little money.
