THANKYOU!!! Base models MAKE the car inmho! If a manufacturer strips EVERYTHING in a base it shows how much they care about their customers. Only thing I didn't like about the fusion S is the fact that it only comes in auto. I want a 6spd. Rims can be swapped, radio, entertainment, etc. can all be modded. But a stick would sell me on the S in a heartbeat!

I’ve driven plenty of cars, and before I bought a Fusion I drove every trim and engine, my favorite was the 2.5 SE. I don’t drive fast, so I don’t care about quick acceleration. The 1.5 ecoboost literally has no power under 3,500 rpm. I had to almost floor it to get it moving decently, I test drove two 1.5’s to make sure one wasn’t bad. I loved the Titanium with the 2.0 ecoboost but it was way too tempting to get on it. If you’re keeping your car for a long time, get a well optioned SE with the 2.5. No turbo and no direct injection = long term durability.
Yes i have a 2020 with 2,100 miles on it.2.5 with no turbo, no cvt ( like everybody else has on most cars out there )and i just found out this is a mazda engine and mazda built the platform too.Amazing handling, and its quick enough but the FEEL of the suspension is what sold me.

I was shocked when my 2010 Camry LE came with all 4 auto windows. I've been wondering for years why more companies don't do this. It can't be more than $10-$20 for the parts.
Even if the Fusion doesn't come with rear vents, you can get a set of vents in the junkyard for cheap and should be functional. It must come with the trim piece.

Its actually because they are constrained on the capacity to make the 1.6 liter and have a second assembly line for the 1.5 liter that is used for other markets. The 1.6 liter is used in many other vehicles.
No, it was designed by ford. It is based on the duratec 2.3 which was first used in the 2001 ford ranger. The 2.3's first use in the tranverse (fwd) configuration was in the 2003 ford focus. It wasn't until 2005 that it was used in the mazda tribute which is a badge engineered ford escape. The escape used the same powertrain.

It's crazy to me that FULLY LOADED, the Fusion pushes above $40k MSRP. That is insane. You can get a very well equipped MKZ for that money, even with the 3.7L V6 that is unavailable on the Fusion.
I'd pick a S model. 2.5 6 auto. Someone I don't know but who's on TV was driving one yesterday. I remember when one Bond movie came out and he pulled up in a scene in a Mondeo I liked it. I wrote Ford a letter and said bring it to America. A couple years later they did. Europe actually has one in a sport wagon that I really like but here it probably wouldn't sell. People want cuv's but not really hatchback or wagons. Most days my back would want the cuv but I'd prefer a hatchback or wagon for a few reasons. But I'd definitely avoid the turbos until about 2017 and then only a twin scroll 2.0 and I have some reservations even about that engine. The normal aspirated Mazda engine can last a very long time with reasonable maintenance. I'd expect 200,000 or more miles from that 6 spd auto. I'd rather have steel wheels with hubcaps than aluminum alloy wheels. Our roads are so rough..steel can be beat back into sealing shape. Aluminum just breaks or bends and isn't repairable (in the US for very good reason). I like the accord except the seats are horrible.
See I test drove the SE fusion today and noticed when i put the key in the ignition like you did I didn't get that new Chime. Was it because it was in Test drive mode? I got the chime you did but except didn't get the new Chime if you know what I mean?

I have the 2013 Ford Fusion S. It's a nice car and smooth. But in Chicago I get 16-18 city. So I'm very disappointed. It feels like I have to do like 60-40 to get combined mpg of 26. And almost all highway(90%) to get into 30's mpg range. Probably the first and only Ford I'll buy.
haave an 09 focus. rural driving i get 30 to 32 since it was new. and im happy. daughter has a 12 civic ex , focus is more fun to toss around by a big bit. se cpe 2 dr
hence the very important "your mileage may vary" that every car maker uses. you may know this but gas mileage can be affected by ANY thing unfortunately.
that mpg sounds about right for that engine. i wouls say the high would be 32 mpg , and city would maybe be 18. big 4 , 3400 pound car. had the old 3.0 v6 - bested at 26 mpg on a 150 mile all highwat one way trip. did 16 in city.

If you've driven the EcoBoost models, you wouldn't be making the comment about the power. I'd take the EcoBoost 2.0 over the V6 it replaced without thinking twice.

I just go the fusion. SE 1.6 eco boost 6 spd manual. I love this car!

I have driven the hybrid version and it has surprising power. I recommend that version highly.

The rocker switch on the shifter is not Manuel mode it is hill control
I have this car. It's for the manual sports mode. It switches gears. You will see gears 1 hrough 6 on the dash,

Getting a 2014 today, SE 1.5 Ecoboost. Auto. 100cc LESS than the Manual version which is a 1.6

the cool seats will not come until late 2014 for the titanium. Can not find the option or description within any package.
Same here. All the money saved in gas will go to replacing the turbos and high pressure injectors in those motors anyway. Sometimes simpler is better.

well the 3.5 v6 has more HP and doesn't require premium for full performance. The 3.5 in the sport sounds much better that the 2.0!
