- Hi there, I'm Ross, and welcome to my channel! This is my first RUclips video, and... the first day of the rest of my life :)
I started this channel as a way to explore my creativity by trying new things (video production, to start!). At this point in time, I don't have much in the way of direction; I hope to figure that out here! I'm not even sure what I am going to be creating, but my interests vary widely, so it should hopefully make for some interesting content ;)
I like painting, sculpting, building, tinkering... anything I can do to keep my hands and mind occupied. Let's see what I come up with!

You are so damn right Ross.There is no greater fear than thinking "what if" but no greater deception than later on realizing "if only" .
At 16 i already used to work at a car fixing garage in shiprock New Mexico. After my twin brother died and my neighbor shot my dog for no apparent reason, i had quit school and given up on everything and just resign myself that this was going to be my life from now on. Ironically enough i was a mechanic at a garage on Route 491 (the modern name of route 666) and it didn't take long before Mephistopheles showed up and offered me a deal. I spent weeks wondering "what if" and once i realized that i really had nothing to lose at all , I packed my bags, (took care of my dog killing neighbor), thanked my boss for teaching me how to fix cars and motorbikes and giving me a wage which kept me off the streets, washed the sludge (and the blood) off my hands and said goodbye to the desert and my Navajo friends. 15 years later after a short unsuccessful career in modelling but a long lucrative career in escorting which paid for med school, I finally became a veterinarian and ethologist, which had always been my childhood dream. I now work at my clinic and shelters or anywhere in the world the organization i work for sends me on "animalitarian" missions.
Just like Faust, one sometimes has to forswear moral integrity in order to attain success or knowledge, but knowledge or success always come at a cost. The trick is just not to strike a bargain selfishly but rather altruistically and to make others (not just yourself) benefit from the deal you strike with Fate, so that you don't drown yourself in champagne with your triumphs or in whiskey with your failures.
At the end of the day, the fear of "what if" should always prevail over the risk of "if only" .
Mephisto in my case was a modeling agent riding a green convertible Plymouth Duster, (just in case one comes your way), who turned out to be more interested to get into my pants than getting me into the industry. But i was 16 and not a particularly bright 16.
Still, in the words of Piaf "Je ne regrette rien" .
I predict you a successful career and you won't even have to strike a deal with anyone. Talent is the only thing you need and you clearly have no shortage of it. Besides, isn't art its own reward ? If not , you'll always have escorting !

Hi Ross, just found your channel via the bird skull pendant..lovely work btw! On a personal note, I know exactly where you are coming from. After a busy work life I found myself disabled at 50. Suddenly time weighed heavy, then I rediscovered my love of making things. It's been and is liberating, credit to you for sharing your skills and your work. Utter respect...believe you can and you can!

@@RossTheRandom Hi, thankyou. Tbh it gave me perspective, and that freed me to, like you, to find purpose in making. Now I make rugs, jewellery, carve and book bind, tbh nothings off limits....all from recycled materials.
Keep finding the joy in what you do, the destination is not as important as the journey 😊
I just found your channel....and it’s incredible that I am exactly where you were in this video. I have a channel planned about film/Tv/games costumes, props, and art. It s been two years and I’ve only been doing research and collecting video equipment. I’m now in a pinch and need to get started, because I’ve also gotten involved in the restoration of a huge functional item from a film (the ORCA from Jaws). I think your channel will inspire me to do some filming this weekend, since the camera boom came in yesterday.

Lol it can be a drag, but mostly because my computer drags 😂 I really enjoy the editing as well, but it is also very tedious

New sub here. Very cool stuff. ( looked at all your posts) wish there was a way to contact you without infringing on your privacy AND not sharing ideas with everyone. Im a maker, have been for 50 years or so. Ive learned sometimes just seeing something is cause for inspiration. Im getting old and have accumulated a lot of stuff. Perhaps you can use some. @@RossTheRandom No shit yeah Mike definitely carves some cool stuff love watching him, & his dog pearl. I got the exact same hat and carving knife that he does, that one that's double sided & got a hook to it, as for his hat its made by Dorfman Pacific Company...lol.

If someone came to your chanel they would probably see your work first but if they don’t this is like an intro video and they are just met with 5 minutes of you talking about your garage and maybe when you made this video you didn’t know you would be carving and maybe you aren’t planning to do many carvings on the channel but this video says nothing about carving
