Curious to hear from everyone :) What're your thoughts about the new mandatory video recording component of the CASPER? Is this better than a purely typing test?
I wrote CASPer for canadian med this cycle for the 1st time and I got 4th quartile. I agree you definitely need 1 month or so to prep, but what matters most is getting feedback from people in your life - med students, your parents, literally anyone. Typing speed does not matter. I didn't finish a single typed question and clearly that didn't hurt me
can you please make a video on the total cost of the entire journey i.e.{ from MCCCQE to getting into university} for an IMG? So, that I can be mentally prepared !!
Hi Liza :) This video would be very difficult to pin down because of the variability involved. Are you speaking about an IMG that has already completed medical school or an international student looking to begin in undergrad here in Canada? For IMGs who have already graduated, MCCQE 1 = $1375 CAD NAC OSCE = $1525 CAD CaRMS application = $300 CAD + $55 for each additional program beginning on the 5th program CMPA Insurance = $1668 CAD per year in Ontario Email activation with the school where you do residency = $1000+ CAD + Any miscellaneous fees associated with citizenship, immigration, etc.
Hi, great video! I’m barely starting to learn about CASper but a program I will be applying for requires it! I did not know there was a video component 😮!!! I’m also confused about how you found out your score? I was under the impression that the scores are not shared with the test taker only the university. Where and how do you suggest studying for this test?
Hi Gianluca! Great video! I was just wondering, how many hours did you prep per day when studying for CASper? You said that you studied for around 1 month-1.5 months, therefore I was curious... I am planning to do my own CASper in October, so being able to gauge the amount of time you spent will help me adopt a daily routine on how to study. (Ofc you also said people study for a week or so as well and still do well, but I want to study for the higher end just to be safe lol).
Hey dude :) I studied about an hour a day and sometimes 2. Most students I’ve worked with agreed that 1 hour was sufficient for them on a long term basis. I did a little bit more because my top school heavily weighed casper grades in the admissions process. Best of luck with the studying!
Hi Julio - are you referring to the UWorld questions for the USMLE step exams? I don't quite know what 40 question block you are referring to for CASPer
Hey man I'm in the biomed program in Ryerson(3rd year). I'm really struggling right now. You have any tips since you've also taken these courses BCH 361 BLG 856 BLG 307? Also who's better Messi or Ronaldo?
Oh man, Advanced Biochem was a hard one - try to do as well as possible in the lab component to boost your mark and try not to skip lectures. That exam was killer for a lot of us. Does Agard still teach immunology? She was great 🤙 Sit in the front, print the slides if possible and ask questions as you go through. It's very hard to recover if you fall behind. Pro tip, take Advanced Immuno next year - its easier and more interesting if you liked the first one Molecular was rough as well, no way around it so you gotta go through it. Sit in the front, do the slide readings before hand and don't be scared to ask Prof. Gilbride questions as you go through. The Midterm was rough, but the exam was better I thought. Check if there's any previous midterms circulating amongst your friends. Best of luck with it. I'm a bigger Ronaldo fan aha but you gotta give Messi his credit as one of the best as well!
Hey, don't know when you might answer this but my casper test is in like two weeks I wanted to ask with each role we were given are we supposed to answer the questions according to the role we were given or professionally for example my role is a friend and I caught my friend cheating am I suppose to act as a friend or professionally
Depends on who you ask and which schools they apply for. To put it into perspective, many Canadian applicants aim for a 4th quartile score to be truly competitive at some schools. This means that approx. 75% of applicants will fall short of their ideal score.

Thanks for the input and congrats on your score :) I'd agree, it seems like all the students that I interviewed endorsed getting feedback from others
I did it a few days after I applied for the casper test I think it went horribly

Hey what a such interesting video. Q: How much time did you need to answer and review a 40 q block, timed and random? Thank you

I’m taking a casper for my physical therapy masters is there any other resource you can connect me too or its pretty much the same?
From what I've heard from students, all versions of CASPER are relatively similar - I hope it went well!
If someone gets the 3rd quartile, is there still a chance to select an interview from McMaster? 😔 She is an out of province student.
test in 30 minutes, pray for me
Do you speak Spanish?
Just English and Italian unfortunately
