I’m living in the UK and have just ordered my first couple of colours moments before watching this tutorial. Once I’ve wrapped my head around this paint I’ll be getting these colours too for my little girls bedroom! Thank you for being so humble and laid back about the techniques. It’s less intimidating for beginners! 🥳
I love you guys doing a video together. I just received my first shipment of SPMP yesterday and am painting my first nightstand now. Can’t wait to see the final results.
Sausha get more videos out !!. Ive been following and using your products for years. Love how your paint feels like silk and the oil just makes sealing a peace so easy. You and Jamie were great together x
😳 I really love these colors, the way they cover the furniture and bring light into the piece. I almost like the oil finish over the wax but not quite! You both do a great job and the staging for the pink is awesome!
Excellent video. Jack steals the show with his sweetness. Especially love how he handles a brush just like his mamma! I have the whole box of Milk Paint envelopes to try from Sweet Pickens. Can't wait to try this color and all the tricks to get this awesome look. Will find out in a few weeks if my niece is having a boy or a girl, I know shw ould LOVE, a piece in either fabulous color. Great demo Jack!!!!!!!!!
Jami Ray Vintage It is sunny and 90 here, it’s unseasonably warm . I have the windows open and the ceiling fans running the smell of honey suckle and wild flowers permeate the air. It’s wonderful weather. I hope the sun comes your way. 🌻
Great video ladies! I'm getting ready to do an old nightstand. I'm so nervous not sure what I'm doing, lol. The top is sanded, which I'm staining, then painting the rest. Love your channel Jami, going to check out part 1 also and your channel Sausha. Thanks for sharing!
Jami, finally using SP milk paint. I applied my first coat and it has some chippy going on. My question is, do I lightly sand before applying 2nd coat or just apply it right over 1st coat. Thanks. I have a feeling I’m about to get addicted to milk paint. 💐
I’m really going to have to get some nerve and try milk paint. I love chalk paint but for some reason scared of milk paint, to add or not add extra bond??? ( not sure if that’s how it spelled) . I love the colors esp the pink. I’m going hunting for another project and might try the milk paint. Thank for sharing ❤️❤️
Hi Jami, I’m using the oil wax for the first time. If after you wipe it all down and it dries can you add more at that time or does it need to be done while still wet? Thanks
Jami Ray Vintage I've taken about a year off, got married, moved and started a new job all this last year :-) I have 3 pieces in my garage to get started on, so excited! I had such a huge stash as I had a booth and sold custom pieces, but got rid of it all :-( so now I'm ready do get back at it! The liquid oil looks awesome and easy!
It’s a combination of natural oils and resins. I used the dark variation. It comes in clear and black as well. ❤️❤️ jamirayvintage.com/products/oil-wax-dark-sweet-pickins
I haven't seen you do much with Annie Sloan. Why is that? What's the difference between that type of chalk paint and the milk paint you are talking about.
I tried Annie Sloan paint awhile back and didn’t like it. I use the brands I sell because I went through a lot of different paints a few years back trying to find the ones I loved at price points I could live with and Fairy Chalk Mother, Sweet Pickins Milk Paint, and DIY paint are my favorites. Chalk paint is much different than milk paint. Both are minimal prep paints. I use chalk paint for neater finishes or if I am going to spray paint, I use milk paint if I want a natural chippy look and DIY paint is clay based that is heavily pigmented making it very thick and perfect for blending. Hope that answers your questions. 👍
Jami Ray Vintage I'm not even sure I looked on Craigslist today and it's all somewhat newer things and the prices are high. I'm having a yard sale this weekend and next weekend I'm going to get up super early and go yard scaling. I really think that's the only way I'll find decent inexpensive things to flip. I live in Oregon, people here don't make much but they sure try to sell for alot' it does stink 😢🙋🏻
I greatly respect Jami Ray but if the owner of Sweet Pickings in her own workshop with a piece of her own furniture can't make her paint chippy what chance do the rest of us have?
A great chance! Every piece is different, and Sausha will be the first to tell you, milk paint has different chipping results nearly every time. that’s what is great about it. Her piece still looked old and age worn when she was done. 👍

We’d love to see your projects!
I love the way the blue dresser came out. ❤️
Thanks!
I’m a new subscriber and I love the 2 pcs of

Yay! New babies are the best!
Jack is the best assistant, I love both pieces. I have some projects lined up, I hope to get to them soon. 🌻
It keeps raining randomly on us here. I never thought I’d say this but I’m ready for the hot dry summer!

That’s sounds amazing!
Jami Ray Vintage We’ve had amazingly beautiful weather for a week.
Both those colors are gorgeous. I like the dark oil its doesn't stay on too thick.
It’s so nice, it wipes right off, stays in the cracks to make them stand out, and dries hard.

You can do it!
🦋My next type of media to use in the future.
Pretty finish on both!!
Jami I love your blouse!! 🌻🌼
Thanks! ❤️❤️
Great informative video and I gotta say, Jack stole the show
He always does! ❤️❤️
Love love both those colours, I want them badly. Great video by the way, the lighting is just perfect.
Her shop is amazing!
Love it!! Gotta get myself some sweets pickins products now!
Careful, it’s a slippery slope to a lot of beautiful furniture! ❤️❤️
Beautiful

I just paint right over the chippy first layer.
Jami Ray Vintage thank you.
Did I hear sausha say wipe down with wet lint free cloth? I played it back a couple of times but not sure. Thanks for a great tutorial!
Yes, damp lint free cloth for wiping down. 👍
I subscribed to both of your Channels :)
❤️❤️

It’s so fun! It took me a couple of projects to really learn its quirks but I get the most amazing chippy results from milk paint.
Hi Jami, I’m using the oil wax for the first time. If after you wipe it all down and it dries can you add more at that time or does it need to be done while still wet? Thanks
I usually wipe it back wait a few hours and do a second coat
@@JamiRayVintage thanks! 💐
I have never used the liquid oil wax, I need to try this! Can u also use it on chalk/clay paint?
Sure can! It’s very versatile.

Oh wow! That’s a busy year!
Can oil wax be used over chalk painted pieces?
Absolutely. 👍
I need to try the oil wax now! What type of oil is it?
It’s a combination of natural oils and resins.

There is that chippy word again lol. Went on FB market place nothing, went to another thrift store, I'm shocked at the prices :(
Ah man! That stinks. What are finished pieces selling for in your area? Is it worth buying at a higher price?

Plus you can barter!
Thrift stores and Consignment Stops are where the best deals are at! I founds a small dresser/large night stand for $15(real wood)!!
