"Just a little too much grape juice" 😄 Good to see you, Carol! Would love to see more of these, but can appreciate how long it takes to do them. What about the famous heist from a Boston museum?
Oh this reminds me so much of those crime scene dioramas for student detectives to learn how to solve crimes. I’d love to see an unsolved case that you try to figure out using a 3D model!
The idea that the painting only became famous because it was stolen is still highly debated. "Great Art Explained" did a really good video about it. Basically, it was already wildly popular, and the theft just made it more so.
If thats the case, why didn't they know it was stolen for so long? It took 24 hours. Of course it was famous on some level but blow up even more after it was stolen
Yeah that's some pretty crazy stuff. I had a Gwar Banner from the last giant showdown in Virginia that the lead singer Dave played he made it and my friends stole it and I received it and like a fuking idiot I tried to sell it and actually got a lot of heat. Like it was the Mona Lisa or something it was very weird
I always heard it’s disappointing, from the size, to the crowds where you can barley even see it, and just how there’s so many other art that is better.
One of the most disheartening things I have ever seen happened when I went to see the Mona Lisa in The Louvre. I walked into the room it was being kept and it was surrounded by a huge group of tourists. No one really cared about the piece and instead was taking selfies with it just to say they had seen it. Didn't even bother to stick around and just walked out of the room.
And across the room from the Mona Lisa is a gigantic masterpiece of a painting that nobody knows and nobody cares. These art pieces took years to paint, and were the blood sweat and tears of great artists. But in the end, people are in it for the likes, and not the art.
When I saw Mona at the Louvre, she was much smaller than I'd expected. The painting can't be taken out of her frame and rolled up for easy concealment since it was painted on a wooden board.
When the video started I Googled how big the painting was just because of the intro of this and really weird Dimensions came up and took me a few minutes to find that the painting was 30 x 21
One of the sure ways of identifying the painting was the real deal, is the slight crack marks in the painting. No matter how skilled your forgery is, you can't replicate the random cracks that have happened on a 400+ year old painting. Comparing the painting to some high quality photos from before is the final confirmation that they had finally found the Mona Lisa.
I've heard a many persons say how beautiful the woman pictured in the Mona Lisa was. To me, she only gets pretty after two years at sea when you haven't seen a woman during that time. 🙄
Hi Carol I would like to see anyone at Buzzfeed do the story on the assassination attempt on Dylan Roof in prison. I was like WTF when I read the details on that.
I was always told "it's smaller than you'd think" so I've been imagining like 8.5 x 11 inches. Imagine my suprise when it's BIGGER than I anticipated! XD
What is in "Mona Lisa"s painting! I don't see nothing. I can only say that during the time of "Leonardo Da Vinchi", there is nothing photograph system. The painting of "Mona Lisa" look like a photo, not a portrait.
Hey I was just watching one of your videos and the video that you made in January 16 2021 I saw like some kind of black shadow thing on your I think either voilot or blue mirror in the backround the minute it was on was at 5.41 just to let you know I don't know if it was a ghost
Though these videos grant me great knowledge and entertainment, nothing(in my opinion) will be as good as Ryan and Shane as the hosts of this show. It has come to a point where my family sits and watches every are you scared with me as a tradition.
This miniature museum she made looks so good!
I enjoy her minis!
I want one!

A very interesting way to tell a story. Also love that she chats in a real way and engages with the miniature. I'll eatch any video she does.

Good to see you, Carol! Would love to see more of these, but can appreciate how long it takes to do them. What about the famous heist from a Boston museum?
If you’re referring to the Gardner museum heist, Shane and Ryan did a very fun Unsolved episode on that in 2018!
@@saiwenya they did. But Carol could cover it, too

now this video is such a delight to watch. Interesting case and love the miniature museum she's making the whole time along with the narration
I saw a documentary on this once, but it was delightful to see all the miniatures and I enjoyed the story telling very much. Well done!
Can't believe I'd never heard about this before! This was such a creative way to explore history. I really enjoyed it! 😊
I love this woman and the way she presents, she's insanely talented at crafting her sets and props also.

Amazing delivery of a great story! Thank you.
Yay! Carol and an art heist, the perfect combo! 💜
I cant help but think of the one scene in Mr. Peabody and sherman
Also,
I like the Despicable Me heist music in the background
Super helpful to show how large the painting actually was. Love the little coat moving the painting around too XD
I thought the little coat was cute too😄
Lmfao, the little smock walking away with the painting was my favorite🤣
I visited the Mona LIsa in-person a couple months ago, and the Mona Lisa was not nearly that big as they portray
i saw it in 2015, teeny tiny
I always heard it’s disappointing, from the size, to the crowds where you can barley even see it, and just how there’s so many other art that is better.
Excellent history series!
i just loove this series so much, can't wait for the next episode

I’m willing to bet Vincenzo made a copy in the months after he took it
I agree!
How? He didn't have any money (he WAS trying to sell it), he didn't know any artists, and he couldn't take the painting anywhere.
Love these miniatures ❤️
Love how that is structured verry well made top quality content 👍
these miniature eps are so cool
