I still don’t understand how California is not figuring out how to move these flood waters to The Salton Sea and Owens Lake. Both bodies of water are in desperate need of these kinds of overflow flood waters. They both spew off toxic dust clouds because the Southwest Californian cities overused their waters and diverted feeder streams from Owens Lake while farms have used up the water in the Salton Sea and discharge their runoff from the farm into the lake. It makes absolutely zero sense to have those huge bodies of land that used to hold million of hectares of water, in the desolate states they are in. Those lakes could be utilized for the sequestering of much needed water for drought years and it would allow the Colorado River a chance to actually send water further down its riverbed, possibly helping the wildlife and ecosystems that have suffered from overuse of water by all the states that take water from it. If California can afford to spend billions creating artificial concrete river beds, then they can spend a few billions more of the monies the federal government just gave them for infrastructure works, to clean up both lake beds from the toxic dust and build pumping stations and aqueducts to move water back to both Lakes. That alone would bring billions to the to state, cities and towns near Owens Lake and the Salton Sea with new tourist dollars. California would then have their own Lake Meads

So much for all the crystal ball readers and prophets that said it would take decades.
Thank you for the continued reporting on this very important issue and it’s actually very interesting to a lot of us keeping up on this issue!
I believe the spillway was designed to accommodate the maximum incoming water flow. Fill it up.
They should thank Climate Change.

All these CA reservoirs are topping off and snow melt hasn't even started yet....What could go wrong?
So who knows what shasta actually means?
Might suprise you too know it means awsome in both portiquese as well as in russion.
i hope they keep some kind of rations from now on. or some type of efficiency incentive
Just charge people 65% more for what they use and that way the Golf Courses can get it cheaper ! DemoCraps love those kind of ideas and solutions !
I drove by this lake March 2, it was very low. So much for the "worst drought in history" Doomer porn.

I dont listen to this channel often because you always have a negative ending about the drought when its clearly over ... Otherwise good info !!
Less people = less water use.
Floods a coming!

IT will all be in vain.... why do I say this?.....Because we won't change how we use the water and EVENTUALLY will be back in the same place again😢

No. It's great for everyone to hear that the drought is over, for a large area. It also focuses on the fact that we need more water storage
