To be honest, the one thing I feared the most about this event is the song that Malleus, Idia and Azul sang at the end cause it might stuck in copyright jail like Neige’s song in chapter 5. So I am glad to hear it’s there. But boy, it seems like Idia suffers the most when it comes to characterization in this event.
It wasn’t actually due to copyright. Apparently at a interview or conference a fan asked why it was removed in the English version and Neige’s song was removed because when it released in Japan it had such a negative reaction that Fans were sending death threats to anyone involved with twisted wonderland because they didn’t understand how Neige won and they didn’t want to recreate that. Apparently they really wanted NRC to win. 😅 Take it with a grain of salt though, because I can’t remember where I heard that from.
@sorcerersapprentice the great seven go by different names by a creative choice, not because of copyright. It's meant to show how so much time has passed that no one remembers their names anymore and the full story of what they did. If it was for copyright, why would the game have events like the tsum tsum or Stitch event? Stitch does not go by a title, and he is on the newer side of the Disney movies in twisted wonderland and therefore not in fair use. If Stitch can be named, why not the great seven? It is entirely a creative choice. Besides, what point would disney have in enforcing a copyright on a game that they license and therefore make money from? Speaking of which, Mickey is in the game. Mickey, who Disney is FIERCELY protective of. If it was a copyright issue, Mickey would not be in the game.
@@sorcerersapprentice that still doesn’t explain why Disney wouldn’t allow the great seven to be named, especially since they are the main focus of the game. I feel like the little dream sequences are way worse than names from a copyright standpoint because the dream sequences are line for line from the original movies and there’s even the original designs. And Disney making it corporate mandate to add Mickey and the dream sequences makes it seem like Disney wants to shove in as much of the original ip as they possibly can and not allowing twisted wonderland to name the great seven, which are the focus of the entire game, undermines that. Also they use the names in marketing, why not the actual game. Also, if copyright was the main reason Neige’s song was cut why not just say it was because of copyright? Saying that it’s the fans fault seems very bad from a PR standpoint considering some fans may get offended and spend less money on the game, especially because most fans already thought it was copyright issues. I feel like if it was copyright, they would have just said it was because of copyright. I mean they have nothing to lose if they say it’s because of copyright, there’s no reason not to admit it’s because of copyright. No fan is going to get upset if it’s because of copyright issues, they’ll just say “oh, that sucks but that’s understandable.”
@@goldenoracle Taking it as a grain of salt I shall. Tho tbh, even if that is true, I think that is a bad decision for the game story wise as the Neige’s song suppose to make us who has watched NRC tribe did their best for the competition to lose to a remix of children song in their universe as frustrated as the nrc tribe members (except Rook for an obvious reason). Is it wrong for fans to lash out to Neige’s va? Absolutely, he just did his job but the fans who harassed him are not emotional matured enough to handle their emotions. Thus, the fault lies with the fans and not the game. If anything, if Yana wanted players to feel frustrated, I think they did an absolutely good job of it.
"It's time to pay up" certainly does sound like how the incantation would go if Double Down\Bet the Limit actually was Azul's unique magic and not Deuce's, I'll give them that.
I wish they had still added the lyrics of them singing 😞 Missed opportunity to explain why Rollo suddenly got emotional during the performance, the lyrics specifically called out to him and his memories of his brother 😭 Great work as always!
i feel like the “dear” thing for rook is more of an accurate translation to me honestly because thats one of the meanings of “可愛い”, it doesnt solely mean cute, it can mean dear or precious. for cater though i think they shouldve kept it, it sounds more like hes saying “cute” than anything else 😭
it looks like they substituted idia's stutter for the internet slang/manner of speech they like to have him use from what i'm seeing from your examples. purely just a guess on my part tho.
In my opinion, changing Idia's stutter to filler words definitely makes him seem more assertive. Using a bunch of filler words can come off as nervous, but it's not strictly associated with being shy/anxiety like a stutter is, especially when followed by something condescending or even rude like Idia often does. As a lot of assertive and mean tropes use a lot of filler words, ie the mean valley girl: "Um, but like literally, can't believe you, like uh, even though the was a remotely good idea". Gives Idia a more cocky douchebag, I'm so above this right now, feel. And idk if that's what they were going for. XD
It makes me wonder if Glorious Masquerade takes place after Book 6 since Idia is still somewhat of a mess, but he's a bit more open here. He willingly spills his feelings about his grief over losing Ortho in front of Azul and Malleus.
I kinda like the cocky Idia we got going on in EN, it makes him more like a redditor saying “um actually”🤓 or what Americans consider obnoxious gamers. He’s more relatable and funny to me. Of course he’s still shy and introverted, but he DID sing in both versions. So I’d like to think he isn’t a total wuss in speech.

Ffs for Idia! I’m glad that they atleast were able to have the twistune carry over unlike Neiges from book5

i think in EN they made it seem like it was after book 6
idk if that was the same in the original
